I just had a thought on some of the items that could be changed slightly in Mario kart 9 whenever it comes out I think timers on items are kinda mediocre, so my hypothetical solution is as such- Golden mushroom should be a weaker version of a mushroom, but you get 7 - 12 uses of it so it can be relevant. Not sure how much weaker or use count would be good, but keeping the gimmick of multiple uses should stay. Fire flower, also no timer, and I think there should be 8 - 10 uses, with the ability to destroy items, but it should have a range nerf so you can't just snipe with it to annoy people. Piranha plant is a tough one, but I think it should either be similar to the golden mushroom since it has that slight speed boost, just weaker than that, or moreso a focus on biting stuff, having it sit beside you to eat items or enemies near you. I think anything over 5 might be overkill, but if anyone has thoughts on that I'd love to hear. Boo should have a number timer on the item HUD so you better know how long you're invisible for since that's still a pretty good gimmick it has. Blooper, honestly I think the idea you had in one video that it should instead ink titres is a great idea, though it could also mess with the steering as well in some minor way, or leave ink puddles on the road to trip people up, moreso a spinout than a knock down. If tanooki leaf ever returns, I think it should be similar treatment to a triple shell for first place. Not too common to get, but should have 3 uses to defend you without a timer. The thunder cloud, that should simply allow you to use it whenever you feel like it, plain and simple. Keep the rest the same, but I think being able to time it would make it a much better item. If they make a lucky 9, my opinion should be that you get a triple banana, triple green, and triple mushroom so it rotates the items you use and you know the order easier. The fake item box should instead be a decoy mushroom in future games, where it could be either a bomb or banana when you go to pick it up, or maybe a thunderbolt that only is used on whoever picks it up, as a way to scare people from picking items off the ground. My last thought, a skill check option. Have the coin block a blue shell on a specific frame to reward you for being good at the video game...(Yeah I'd never be able to time it lol) If anyone has thoughts on if any of this should be fine tuned, or suggestions of their own, I wouldn't mind hearing, cause I'm curious what others think of some of the items in this game
@@Nintenguinturning off Boo, Lightning, and Coins, makes the most satisfying offline races. At least with balanced players - leave those crazy items on if a player is better than others
One thing I'd mark as a big positive for the Boomerang Flower: It has priority over a LOT of other offensive items, piercing through them without getting destroyed. Green Shells, Red Shells, Bananas, Fire Flowers and even Pirhana Plants all get trumped by it. Only things like explosives and the Super Horn actually destroy the boomerang, so in mid-pack fights it can be way more useful than you'd think!
@@Bman_Iggy Mhm! Should also be noted that Battle mode makes the Boomerang Flower absolutely a top tier item, it's insane how much you can get done with it when people are forced to directly combat it
Honestly pretty happy we don’t get to hear Silok rant about the Blooper again in this video. Him just putting it in D with no explanation is much better and funnier than a fifth rant on it.
@joshuabautch8936 it just doest do anything. Throws some ink on your screen and that's it. It's not enough to make it difficult to see, doesn't make your tires slick like some people believe, it's basically useless, and you only get it towards last place. It's objectively the worst item
@ttarion Nonononono whats worse about DS is that you can literally just use the Mic to blow it away almost immediately making it do basically nothing at all, what a wonderfully designed item right?
"And why don't people hate the super horn?", he says at 14:47, right when it's snatched by a Boo Granted, this doesn't change its effectiveness, but I find it funny he talks about its usefulness during a clip where he doesn't use it.
Agreed, a lot of people brush over the fact that, although you can use it to defend against a Spiny Shell, the chances of keeping the horn for that long ( without it getting stolen or used on a lesser item like a red shell ) is very low. It's cool to see something that actually defends against it, while also being balanced at the same time, but it's weird that a lot of fans tend to judge an item's concept on paper rather than the execution...
@@hankpeterschmidt8626 I think that it's fine. The skill check for dodging a blue shell can be too hard for the casual player. Additionally, the chances of getting it in 1st are pretty low, so it's not like it's used every single race every single time a blue shell gets thrown.
Even though the thunder cloud screws you over for no reason, I honestly kinda like it. I can’t really explain why either. I guess it’s more for the sake of variation and chaos.
It's actually a really cool item in concept. It just sucks in the actual game and should've been left out in playtesting. It's just no fun for anyone But a cool item nonetheless
Right? Like, don't get me wrong, it sucks and could be so much better, but it fits the madness that is Mario Kart Wii lol Definitely prefer the modding community's version though
Something to consider about the boomerang: you can't snipe yourself by accident if you through it, and it can hit multiple people. Another small note: The banana bunch from N64 can only block 1 hit but the triple can block 3. So the 5 is best for spamming roads, but has the same defensiveness as a single banana.
Side note: In 8, you normally can't roll 2 coins, so if you get one you'll probably want to hold onto it to make sure the next item isn't a coin if you miss the double box.
Side side note: In addition to this, it's especially nice if it's in the first of your two item slots so if a Boo hits you, it takes the Coin and not your defensive item
@jadenfrancis5469 how does one go about chaining items correctly? It's happened a couple times but the one time I can specifically remember it, I had no items, got a double item box and both items were coins
@@Shadow9923 I don’t know. I’ve never seen that happen to anyone before, including me. Probably some lag or game error when it’s selecting the items for you. Either way, you should always be getting either a defense item with a coin, or two defense items and no coins. This is of course when you’re in first or second. You can pull some non-defensive items in second like a mushroom.
My take is that the fake item box should come back, but be a battle mode exclusive like the feather. Even if it looks identical to the normal item boxes, it’s way too easy to tell when one is fake because of how it’s placed along the track. In battle mode that issue doesn’t really exist though.
I think the boo item thrived most in DS where you can look at the bottom screen and pick when to use it depending on the items your opponent has. Having grown up with DS, this was my favorite thing to do with it, since opponents would have no choice but to use their good items (like stars/lightning/bullets which cant be held behind you) sooner or risk it being stolen.
I know you said it was a hot take, but I completely agree with you about the Golden/Super Mushroom. It requires knowledge of the track to pull off and someone like my niece who, isn't really into video games, has played Mario kart with me, and she could not use the Gold mushroom properly and crashed into walls and fell off the course, whereas, when she obtained the bullet, it's a simple press of the button to catch up, and it works, well!! The last thing you want with no knowledge or skills in the game, is an item that requires skill but is meant to help the player.
It's funny you say that since it only seems like items are only good if new players can use it. Like, you might as well remove the triple green shells or the banana since they have better options, but to everyone else you'll be thankful for them.
@@StaminaLossNew players will probably be in the last places, specially if they don't game much, and having an item that gives them a lot of boosts will make them spam it and then mess up the curves since they didn't know better than to do that
@@Mauripsu That's the thing people really focus on. New players You do realise not everyone in low positions are new? People are ignoring the fact that 1) High level/competitive lobbies know the game 2) you are playing with multiple people at least somewhat experienced in the game aka if it goes fast, probably not a good idea to boost while a cliff is in the way or spam it on straight lines you can't fall off of is a good idea 3) you yourself can learn more about the track/lab it to see the best options It's one of those things where by that logic, you might as well remove the triple shrooms since 4-5 mushroom boosts are better than 3. But, where's the fun if every item is just the same broken item? That and the item itself just really isn't that bad.
@@StaminaLoss I personally like the item and I find it useful if people know how to use them, for example in online or with friends who have played MK before, but it's not for everyone It's too tied to the xp of the player imo, when the bullet and the red shells are easier to use and the star lets you maneuver more easily It's not bad by any means, I just think it becomes counterproductive compared to the other last place items, and depending on the player it's gonna be a godsend or suck
@@Mauripsu That's kinda the thing though. You mentioned the star, you might as well lump it with the Golden Mushroom. At least you kind of know the value of it, but again by that logic you should have included the star. When observing new players, the star also screws them just as much as mushrooms in general do. It makes you go faster, which can be a blessing or a curse depending on whose using it. And that logic applies to a lot of items. Why use the banana? Why have a single mushroom when a triple mushroom can appear? It's just logic that's so flawed when you can just be more positive X3
I can appreciate not JUST hating the lightning cloud and appreciating the concept, but (and im sure im in the minority on this) i feel like the growing aspect of the modded lighting cloud takes away from the concept of the lightning cloud. I LIKE that it acts as a sorta risky boost ahead. I feel like I'd solve it by giving an even bigger speed boost, and maybe being able to repel the shock from it with an item if you time it well enough.
The Bullet Bill will be a hard item to top by any new one when it comes to items you can get on the back placings. Everytime I played Wii or 8 Deluxe locally with other people, be it my siblings, my cousins, my friends, etc whoever was further back and got it always celebrated.
I would rather chain a shock into a bullet or star or golden. Just getting a bullet doesn't always do much for you and some tracks it's next to useless online. (Not so much for 8 but for WIi it's useless on like Mario raceway and stuff like that unless the pack is close together.) If the track is shortcut heavy it won't do much for you cause sadly it doesn't take shortcuts.
One aspect I don't see people discuss when comparing how Mario Kart games handle the items, is the quantity per map or the respawn time for the item boxes in the game. DS was the version I grew up on, and still appreciate the slightly longer respawn times which would mean in a race you might slow down a touch to get one, making the experience a little more tactical. As opposed to 8 deluxe, where they reload so quickly (plus there being more boxes for the higher player count) that it never feels like you'll miss out on one.
The DS and the arcade titles are probably the specific few in the series where items feel strategic, while Wii and 8DX kind of suffer a little from being over-simplified. The 2nd Item slot 8DX introduced threw any point of strategy out of the window...
Boomerang flower fan here! I think it’s a really well balanced item. It is like a worse shell, especially if used defensively on turns, but I don’t think that is necessarily a bad thing. The mediocre defensive ability is balanced out with its offensive play. Its large hit box makes hitting laggy players online easier, and the ability to discard it for a double item so fast is also a plus. I know most people don’t agree with me, but I really like this item.
3:18 To defend the coin here for a minute: Coins are VERY important for balancing purposes, especially in 8DX where you have access to two item slots. Without coins, first place would be at an unfair advantage; they’d have two defensive items at all times with no way for other players to counter outside of blue shells and shocks. 9:43 Bob-ombs can actually be obtained in first place in Double Dash, but ONLY as Wario or Waluigi; Petey and King Boo can only get them in 3rd or lower due to their unique item distribution.
@@silokhawkI mean yeah. Everyone knows they aren’t calling the next mainline Mario kart “Mario Kart 10.” It’s going to get its own subtitle. People just use “Mario kart 10” and “Mario kart 9” as shorthand terms for the next mainline Mario kart. No one thinks that’s what they’re actually going to be called.
I mean, some items that are good in other games are not great in Tour. It's mainline, but plays different enough to where it's hard to rank its new items alongside the ones that aren't locked to score-attack gameplay.
Since you didn't include any of the new Tour items (despite Nintendo definitely thinking it's mainline), I'll give descriptions and rankings for each of them: *Double Bob-Ombs: Two bombs that revolve around you. Idk if you get blown up if one of them gets hit, but either way, 2 is better than 1. B tier right above Bob-Omb. *Fire Flower (Tour): In Tour, the Fire Flower works like the Fireballs in DD, albeit with only 3 fireballs instead of 5, so B tier underneath Fireballs. *Ice Flower: Works like the Fire Flower but freezes racers, causing them to slide around. If this was in 8, it would be hilarious if you froze someone and they slid off the track, but in Tour's context, pretty much right next to Tour's Fire Flower. *Bubble: Basically a slow, passive Bullet Bill. It just slowly carries you along the track but it avoids shortcuts and you can't use items. It also pops if something hits it. D tier. *Banana Barrels: Shoots a whole bunch of bananas onto the track in front of you. Seems cool on paper until you slip on one of your own bananas immediately after. D tier. *Mushroom Cannon: Like Banana Barrels, but with Mushrooms. Problem is your opponents can also grab them, so you're probably helping them more than yourself. Low C tier. *Coin Box: Makes a whole bunch of coins. With Tour's score and combo based gameplay, this is extremely helpful for getting longer combos and higher scores. A tier. *Dash Ring: Makes three large rings in front that will boost you when you go under them, but they also work for your opponents. C tier. *Bob-Omb Cannon: Like the Mushroom Cannon but with bombs. They explode immediately so you don't have to worry about blowing yourself up and is great for stopping a large group in front of you. Low S tier. *Hammer: Throws hammers in an arc. Not sure of the usefulness but I highly doubt its more useful than a shell. C tier. *Giga Bob-omb: A bigger bomb with a wider explosion. It bounces three times before doing so, but it can only be thrown forwards and will explode if you hold it for too long. Mid C tier. *Super Bell: Basically the Super Horn, but three consecutive times. S tier. *Capsule: Surrounds you with 3 pills that bounce around when thrown. Again Idk the usefulness of this, so C tier.
Bob-omb Cannon should be much lower, as it’s often way too hard to aim it properly to do much good with (unless a CPU has it, then they hit all their shots damn near perfectly) Capsules can actually home in on other racers to an extent, so they could be higher
The hammers when used close can actually target the closest person and since they are thrown in bunches of 3 they can remove an item from that person and hit them
So the coin, who can: -stop boo from stealing a protection -hide your bob-omb and horn so you can surprise enemy -help you get back coin you were hit IS D, it's really good for surprise. And blooper can help too, he can: -block vision, so you can't see banana, bob-omb or shell -make your kart slippery You have bad taste (coin on B and blooper C for me)
I'm one of the few boomerang flower defenders Hits multiple enemies at once Cancels all incoming attacks minus horn/bomb, including the piranha plant One throw can hit a person on the turnaround if you missed them the first time, essentially providing 5 chances to hit people with 1 item (Throw, return, throw, return, throw) you can use a third item whilst the boomerang is out essentially giving you three items for a short time has the single longest range of any non lock on weapon in the entire game (it takes more wall bounces to break than the green shell and goes further overall) and even after being thrown for the third time can still hit more than one person. Isnt timed so you can space out all three shots for maxiumum damage It's a genuinely amazing item, and im sure this comment will go entirely unnoticed but the boomerang flower is an incredible item, easy A tier minimum
In my opinion Bullet Bill and Lightning showed be number 1 and 2 because they are so good people purposely go in the back just to fish for them. Specifically Bullet Bill on certain tracks that allow it to go further can enable getting so much in front than everyone else and they can’t do anything about it.
The tier list is actually pretty good imo, but I would personally change a few things. •Move the coin up to the bottom of C tier. Here’s why: In 8DX, let’s say you’re in 1st place with 10 coins, and you’re frontrunning by a good amount. You pass a double item box and get a coin & a defensive item. Most people would probably just use the coin straight away, but if you do that, your defensive item can now be stolen by Boo. If it’s a Super Horn, you could be hit by a blue shell and can’t be too sure that the next item box, if you even reach it on time, will give you another super horn. However, if you let the boo steal the coin, then that means you now have something to protect you effectively. The main drawback being that you’re vulnerable to other offensive items and you can’t reliably pick up and use a second. I love this dynamic, and it makes the coin really valuable, albeit only during specific occasions. •Move the Boomerang Flower between the Golden Mushroom and Modern Fake Item Box. My reasoning for this is because one throw can hit multiple targets *and* items without being destroyed instantly. Since you’re mostly rolling Boomerang Flowers in middle positions, you’ll have large crowds of opponents to use it on.
Disagree about POW Blocks even though I'm sure it's not for a reason that would give it much props on a list like this, but the POW Block is one of the more technical items in the series. You can use it after a quick look at the minimap to target specific players (usually first place) who aren't close to a jump and are approaching a turn. Since even shaking your Wii remote with this locks your direction forward, they'll absolutely need to slow down unless they want to go flying into a wall or take a much worse line. Especially good players can use the drift button to do a frame-perfect hop if they have a good item in a higher spot and want to keep it. None of this will ever cross the mind of most people playing the game though so I totally get its placing.
I love how you IMMEDIATELY open with a disclaimer because of how unlucky you've gotten with kids throwing tantrums over your takes. I for one find your critiques very refreshing and reasonable.
I'd be interested in a tier list more about the item's purposes. Obviously coins are a shit item, but their purpose is to nerf the higher positions. Do they do that well? Fake Item Boxes mightve been more convincing in the past, but given how Item Boxes are almost always lined up in specific places, how often does that novelty actually come into play? Etc.
I don't think you realize just how good mushrooms can be for competitive play. It's a more common super horn with more versatility. You can use mushrooms to take shortcuts but you can also dodge blue shells with them too by activating the mushroom as the shell is falling in mk8d. Additionally, you can use them as a way to reach max speed after spinning out which is useful for low acceleration builds. Mushrooms are the swiss army knifes of mk8 and deserve S tier praise not C tier slander ❤
The golden shroom hate is just so confusing. Mainly in that, you do realise not everyone in a low position is that bad of a player? It can be a legit strat to lag behind and it makes high skill rooms more interesting. It still is really good when knowing how to use it on top strats like spamming it to maximise your speed boost from a boo steal. Even with something like triple mushrooms being able to be taken in a higher position, you do realise not every map is rainbow road and in general 4-5 mushrooms is better than 3 Even with the argument of the Bullet bill exists, by that logic you might as well replace everything in a low position with a bullet.
2:29 in some mario kart entries (e.g. wii), you can roll mushrooms in first, however its only available once you’ve collected at least 15 item boxes in first in the race, so it basically never happens. 10:27 blooper doesn’t do much to players in the early games where it just obstructed vision, but in mk8d it reduces your grip making your drifts worse, and can mess up someone’s game if they’re about to take a shortcut
Solid placements and arguments. I agree with the majority of your takes, but I think boomerang flower should at least be mid B. If used with proper spacing, it can pierce defense items and knock out opponents in one shot that would've been blocked by a green. It's an excellent defensive tool in its own right allowing it to destroy incoming projectiles if thrown backwards with good timing three separate times. Also, it's snipe potential with the third throw is insane.
13:48 it's me. i'm its fan. i like how it's the only way to swap the items you're currently holding in 8, and i always found it more useful than a green shell because it moves faster so aiming isn't as precise.
Banana is actually S Tier because when you’re in first you can drop them on ramps and other precarious spots to make opponents fall off the stage and widen your lead
A thing I think some people sometimes forget is that when you take the coin out of the time roulette in Mario Kart 8, The person in 1st place will barely get knocked back since they never get something that’s not a item to protect them, If they’re extremely good or barley get attacked a lot they won’t fall down from first since they always have something to protect them Also In Mario Kart 8 for some reason every Triple Item has a chance to still hit you even though you have all of them, Idk if I’ve just been unlucky or it’s just bs
Great Video and explanation for your choices and also for the giant banana another perk is that if a green/red shell hits a giant banana it doesn't split the only ways it splits into three is if someone collides with it or a chain chomp/Bowser shell collide with it there is a limit of how many can be placed on the track at a time
Piranha Plant is insanely underrated. It eats the blooper, blocks backspam and eats any item hazard you may run into, eats both the item someone is dragging behind them and hurts the player, and gives you 10 boosts.
I think the position of the regular bananas and fake item box should be reconsidered! I like to use them to block out shortcuts, especially on final laps. And i notice people will put fake item boxes in the way of where you might land (example being the landing area on dk mountain.) Which will slow someone down as they can't dodge it. With how big the item box is, it can easily block a shortcut that will save a lot of time. I also am surprised you forgot to mention the mushrooms being used to dodge a blue shell, i think its really fun whenever you actually manage to time it right!
Few things to note: 1. In defence of the Mega Mushroom, it increases your radius so you can run into a potential group of opponents and hit a bunch of them unlike the star. If nothing else, it increases your chance to hit at least one opponent, unlike the star where you are too fast to really hit anyone with it, as well as due to your normal size using the star. Also, when attacking the players, they get squashed which lasts a much more longing damage to them unlike the star's damage, where they knock over sure, but can recover much quicker overall. 2. The rotational version of the triple bananas should be tied with the lined-up version of the triple bananas honestly, because where the lined-up version is better for defense, the rotational version is better for offense as you can run into opponents which is a better alternative than having to throw the bananas such as with the lined-up version. 3. The modern version of the fake item box actually caught me off guard alot of the time because, in a far distance and thus 'in hindsight', it's actually is the same color as the normal item box, but as you get closer to it, it changes color to red which is kinda a cool nerf to the original fake, which just felt unfair. Also, once you realised the fake box changed to red, it's hard to avoid it once you notice because you maybe going too fast, especially in 150cc or Mirror and DEFINITELY when playing in ice tracks due to the slippery physics. Strategically, I place the box in front of a speed boost so once the other players notice it changes color, they are too fast to avoid it due to the speed boost and are basically screwed. Just a few things I felt about the items at least.
If I remember, the fake item box, and maybe the mega mushroom, were planned for MK7, with item icons, but they don’t work at all. In CTGP for MK7, they were implemented, with the item box not appearing on the mini map and was similar to MKDD in that it reveals it’s fake when you’re close. Also, you can spam the Piranha Plant
> "Unlike the banana, you can use the green shell offensively." Have you seen how I Mario Kart? That banana is going forward, and you are going to run into it.
Ok, but think about the Boo like this: You get a Green Shell or something similar ON TOP of a discount star, and it lasts significantly longer than a star, you can even get it easily in the mid levels, it's not better than a star but it's certainly worth a lot more than people give it credit for. To add on, you can spam the Piranha plant to constantly chomp rather than just comping every few seconds, so thinking of it more of an on command mini turbo, it's a better golden mushroom in my eyes because you can spam it in most areas without going off the rails, plus all of the perks you mentioned in the video.
7:35 i think its also a good idea to take into consideration the fact that at least in wii, the flying blue shell has an extreme stun, throwing you high into the air rather than 8's blue shell that has a shorter stun. i think the flying blue shell should be put at least above the boo.
I wanna defend the boomerang flower a little bit. It's far from my favorite item to get, but it has two advantages over green shells. One, it can hit multiple people in a throw, making it very effective when near a tight cluster of players. Two, it can also pierce through someone's defensive items, breaking whatever they might be dragging behind them and then hitting the racer. I don't think I'd bump it up that much, but I would personally put it a bit higher than you did. Probably about on par with a green shell for me.
Honestly i really love the pow even now you can still time it right to spin someone out while in a turn and the leaving behind the items can be very useful, if you are in a low spot you might get a star or a mega out of it. Sadly no bills cuz they disappear
Coin doesn't deserve D, maybe top C or low B A singular coin increases your speed by half a bar in mk8 deluxe, 10 coins will increase your speed by 5 whole bars
Coins themselves are not bad but MK8 gives coins out on the tracks themselves like candy, the coin item is completely unnecessary and is really just annoying.
@@Pyrodiac still, the coins give 2 coins, you get hit a lot and most coins are far out into the track meaning you'll have to go farther from the quickest route
THANK YOU FOR RANKING THE BANANA BUNCH (and Fake Item Box) FROM 64 SEPARATELY. I've seen sooo many videos ranking them the same as a triple banana... And that just shows to me they don't really play MK64 at all.
1:40 also shout out to the DS iteration of red shells. It may not have been able to fly, but what it could do was end up passing you, doing a 180 and then smacking you right in the face, something I find almost as scary and way more funny lol
Honestly I prefer the POW Block to the Lightning, since it isn't just a "Fuck you" button that automatically stops you in your tracks, you get a warning that it's coming and can avoid its effect if you know what you're doing
small correction with the revolving bananas: in 8 deluxe (idk about wii u) you can get them in 1st however not only are they very rare, they are only obtainable in 1st when playing in grand prix
The Boo is the worst item. It’s a worse version of the Star and it takes an item but you’ll get a better item in bottom spots anyway. POW is underrated. It’s not just a weaker lighting. It adds risk v reward. As soon as you see it. You might want to frantically use your items but so will every other player around you so it can cause chaos leaving everyone on their toes. If you’ve got mushrooms, you might think twice about using them because you’ll be vulnerable to everyone else throwing their shells. So you might even go out of your way to find a small jump to keep your power items but if you mistime it, you have to time a hop so you don’t completely spin out. That’s amazing risk v reward. Risk spinning out to keep your items or take the hit/use ‘em right away so you maintain your momentum?
At least the Boo can protect you from Bullet Bills, Stars, and Lightning. The Mega Mushroom is literally a worse version of the Star and a joke of a power item that can't protect you from Bullet Bills or Stars, and you revert to normal size when struck by Lightning. What's even the point? The Star is FAR superior. Also, the reason why the POW Block is so annoying is because it shows up way too often. Additionally, Mario Kart Wii has tons of airtime, and because of the sheer amount of airtime, if you use a ramp or use a speed boost while going up a slope, you won't even be affected at all and render the item pretty much useless. As for what I consider the worst item, it's easily the Thunder Cloud. It gives you a speed boost, but if you don't get rid of it in time, you will be shrunk by your own item. If you get this item, there are only a few ways to get rid of it: bump into someone else to pass the cloud, get shot out of a cannon, or get a Star. Also, it's a middle of the pack item. It's literally the only item that harms the user more than it helps. As for other bad items, the Blooper goes against the very principles of Mario Kart, as it disproportionately affects new players while barely affecting experienced players, and worse, it's only obtainable in middle to back of the pack positions. While the Coin has a niche use in that it allows you to get a free defensive item in your second slot, overall, it's a waste of an item slot as there are Coins everywhere on the track.
Okay golden mushroom is probably c tier but not really for the reasons you said. In decently competitive rooms the skill issue thing isn't really a factor on most tracks, good players find themselves in low positions all the time, either intentionally or not. The main reason you'd rather pull the other power items most of the time is that you can't effectively chain a golden mushroom very well, meaning it'll often just get you from the back to somewhere in the middle with no item, a pretty vulnerable spot. New fake item box isn't great but also a lot better than you give it credit for. Really useful for trapping blind corners, shortcuts, and other spots where opponents can't avoid them such as the exit to cannons. Similar to bananas in that sense but a lot more punishing if you hit one.
with the pirhana plant is you press the item button it will chomp, meaning you can use it as a weird offensive mushroom (kindof) and can get rid of it earlier
The most op strategy in 8 deluxe right now is just front running, of course you need to be in first to win that's the point, but the amount of safety you have outside of blue shells is astonishing, while 3rd through 11th is constantly dealing with each other, but in 1st your only real aggressor is in 2nd place while you have access to items before everyone and can get plenty of stuff to block 2nds red shells or you'll get even the mega horn if you're lucky
Although almost definitely not intended, in MKWii you *can* start pulling mushrooms in first if you hit enough items boxes. I think normally the tracks are designed such that you're extremely unlikely to encounter it without doing intentionally (as well as keeping first place the whole time) but it's possible POW block isn't really that good but at least in high level play i've seen it used as an item-meta play. If you're aware of the timings that items start appearing (blue shells at 30 seconds, shocks at 45 seconds, etc) and you've got the right situation, you can use the POW to force someone holding the shock to use it - since using it suboptimally is still far preferable to not at all - right before you hit a state where you'll dodge it (usually a cannon shot but technically falling off also dodges shocks) to get a pretty sizable advantage. It's especially useful if you're able to run the POW up to a higher placement and THEN use it. I don't think this extremely niche use case is worth enough to bump it up tiers or something cause it IS super situational, but it's still a cool strategy that's worth at least mentioning here in a youtube comment
man ive been following your channel for a good couple of years now, its a shame to see so many people disregard what you have to say and just skim with the sole purpose of having a contrarian take. ive always loved your content Silok, keep doin you man.
The blue shell actually was intented to have wings and fly above every racer from the beginning, it was the hardware limitations at the time that prevented that from happening, but yeah it's a good thing they decided to go back to the classic version, I'll miss the wings aesthetically, though
I'm a fan of the boomerang flower item. Like how unique it is and I'll give it some good pointers for it's case. It is one of the only straight shot items where you cannot get hurt by it cause it always comes back to you for another usage (well maybe not for the third throw), it can hit multiple opponents and destroy smaller items without it being destroyed. So if an opponent was defending themselves with a banana, I could throw the boomerang at them, not only destroying the banana, but also hitting the opponent as well causing them to spin out. Which I have done when they about to make a jump over a ravine (:
i’m actually a big fan of the boomerang. my favorite thing about it is that it pierces items, so if the person in front of you is blocking, it will still hit.
POW Block: is single handedly the most underrated item in the entire franchise. It screws you over way more than you think and gives you something else you need to worry about dodging. Even if you dodge it. You don't get any grip on the road cause it bounces you. It also is momentum based so you quite literally will bang into a wall and lose all your speed sometimes or it forces you to slow down losing speed anyway. And if players are smart enough they'll time it instead of just spamming it. Mega Shroom: Just remove it entirely and make it the thunder cloud from Wii EXACTLY aside you grow big and want the item instead of wanting to get rid of it. Like simply just combine the 2. Super Horn i DISPISE that addition. Dodging the great balancer when you already have overpowered I-Frames which BTW is also silly along with Overpowered Red Shells, which MK WII's item distribution it would be good but with 8's it's terrible. Look at this way. I-Frames after falling off stops you getting hit by a blue shell? Makes it just as useless as what everyone says about MK WII's Blue shell flying. (Even though DS and Wii's is the better version of it) The FIB does the Coins job but like objectively better. MK DS's specifically. Where it looks like 64's but the only difference is that items don't get blocked by it. 1st place needs an item that doesn't block red shells but they balanced that with the revolving banana's, WIi's Triple banana's is just better though and add the FIB so they don't have all defensive in 1st place. Green Shell, Single Nana, Triple Nana, MK DS's FIB, and TBH a very low chance of pulling a shroom for Blue shell dodges would all be a good idea. Oh yeah and bombs in 1st is insane lol. Oh yeah and golden is better over bullet bill for tracks that have a lot of offroad shortcuts chaining a shock into a golden or star or even a bullet on none shortcut heavy tracks is a pretty broken combo and you can guarantee yourself a 1st with it. Also can we also just agree that all fo double dash's items should just come back in their double dash form exactly? I never played Double Dash but I've seen how all the items work and my god, just having more items in the roulette makes for as more fun game.
DS's Fake Item Boxes lack a question mark entirely, don't rotate, and are marked red on the minimap. I mean, it was dead obvious by now what ones are the Fake Item Boxes, but sure, let's add one more way to tell. No one's falling for this anymore. The item is so much worse than its 64 iteration in Double Dash, DS, and Wii that Nintendo didn't even bother to try anymore and completely removed it in 7.
@@greninjamariokartpokemonfan Sure then add a question mark block. but the thing is it doesn't move but it looks the same as 64's which was my point also talking about the mini-map is a little silly since that isn't really a thing that shows much anymore. I am simply saying the way it looked. And sure if it doesn't have a ? then add a ?. But I'm saying the way it functioned. It hits players you can throw it forward throw back, it flips the kart like the green shell and it doesn't block incoming shells like the coin. T his is simply all I'm saying.
@@nizzystorm7067 I would also rework the Fake Item Box so that it feels like a completely new trap item instead of a worse Banana. I would make it so that it finds the nearest item set to infect a random Item Box to resemble its Mario Kart 64 iteration (same color as a real Item Box, just with an upside down question mark). From a distance, the question mark will be normal, only on approaching will it turn upside down. Once a Fake Item Box infects a real Item Box, another Fake Item Box can't be obtained until the current one disappears. Overtime, the Fake Item Box will slowly start to infect other Item Boxes in the set until only one Item Box is left. To prevent this from happening, the player must run into the Fake Item Box before it infects other Item Boxes. Any racer who runs into a Fake Item Box will have their item stolen and given to the one who placed it (aka the user). Also, I hope none of the items introduced in Wii return. The Mega Mushroom and POW Block are worse versions of already existing items (Star for Mega Mushroom and Lightning for POW Block), the Mega Mushroom is pointless unless you're near a group of racers and can't protect you from Stars or Bullet Bills (not to mention you return to normal when struck by Lightning), the POW Block is just a nuisance as it shows up far too frequently, and the only way to keep your items and avoid having to fall off the track just to avoid it or having to restart the entire Grand Prix because of the insufferable item is to be airborne, and the Thunder Cloud is the worst item ever created as it's the only item that harms the user (seriously, this is one of Nintendo's worst ideas ever, like, I have to ask, design-wise, how anybody thought this was a good idea). Does it surprise you that none of these items have been in a Mario Kart game since? I would also get rid of the Blooper because it disproportionately affects new players while doing jack squat to experienced players.
@@greninjamariokartpokemonfan OK so first of all it's just as good as a banana because it can't block things but it slows down other racers for longer. Terrible take. Also, this entire idea just wouldn't work well. And would be OP, and honestly kind fo stupid. All it needs to be is Spin, Same colour as MK DS's and then add a Upside down Question mark and then DO NOT block items so that everything doesn't block incoming shells in first. You are just wrong about the Thunder Cloud the idea was one of the best for what Mario Kart i supposed to be. Chaotic frantic fun. All you have to do is gain a benefit form it instead of gaining a nuisance hot potato is such a good idea if you don't get that I'm sorry you like to have a boring ass race, all they have to do is just mix the Mega shroom and the TC together so you want the TC and then if you get zapped you grow bigger instead of smaller so you then gain a power item. Also the Mega shroom makes you just go back to regular size? YEAH EXACTLY that's GOOD you don't lose an item then you are at your full speed instead of the shruken down speed and you just dogded a shock. Obviously you can't dodge Bullet's or Star's with it cause they are supposed to be better. But getting an item like that in lower positions with 12 racers is important. POW Block is annoying but the same reason applies about the chaotic frantic nature of the game. Is the shock not annoying? Is the Blue shells not annoying. Is the bloody MK 8 red Shells not annoying? This is such a dumb take it's unreal. You also need to remember that you have offroad immunity with the Thunder Cloud. Which i think should also stay. Why don't we discuss the MK8 items then shall we? Potted Piranha Plant doesn't give you enough of a speed boost, give players options. it's currently one of the most shittiest items because it's essentially just a slightly better version of the Tanooki leaf from MK7. Now each bite from the Plant lasts for the exact same amount of time/duration but it gives mushroom based boosts. So it's essentially a worse golden mushroom. This would improve this item. Boomerang flower is well designed and does not need any changes at all. Fire Flower is great let's get an ice flower too. Freeze people in place for a second or so, if we had that i would be fine forgetting the POW block exists. Cause it would essentially do a similar thing and counteract the issue everybody talks about with it just being a worse lightning. Super Horn. I think people just need to accept that they are getting blued and just take the bloody hit. Super horn is a stupid idea. Especially since the blue shell doesn't toss you in the air anymore. Now if it did i would say it's a good item. For example DS and WIi could have used that item but it's just kind of a bad idea for how little the blue shell now does. And also most of the time you will rarely get hit when it's on it's way to first place so that mechanic should just not be there. Please make it the way it operates in Wii and DS and simply make it throwable from 3rd to 5th place (Maybe 2nd that would have to be discussed) And then give first maybe a mushroom as a skillful way and timeful way to dodge it. And make it super rare kind of like the super horn currently is. Mushroom in first may be to OP but i don't think so. It would be a rare pull. Lucky 7/Crazy 8. Laziest item ever created. Remove it thanks. Moving on.
@@nizzystorm7067 Also, remember how I said that the Blooper should be removed and why I believe it should be removed? The Blooper is one of the worst items they've ever added to the series. To start, in some games, it does jack squat. For example, in Wii, it may just be the most useless thing ever. Even in games where it covers up more of the screen, there is so much going against the item. In all of the games the Blooper appears in, there are tracks with boosters on ramps or just lying around, and by just using one of them, that ink is just gone. Tracks with boosters everywhere like Rainbow Road? Forget it. Even on water tracks like Water Park, there is no way that ink will stay on your screen for more than a second because all you have to do is enter the water to get rid of the ink. The bigger problem to me is that there is a disproportionate gap between how good the Blooper is against new players vs how good it is against experienced players. For this hypothetical situation, let's say your mom is a new player and your aunt is an experienced player. If your mom doesn't know where she's going to begin with and I use a Blooper on her, she's done for when that ink hits her screen because she can't even stay on the road in the first place, and I would obviously feel bad for her. But then if I'm playing against you aunt, and she already knows the track layouts, that ink won't do anything to her because she already has the tracks memorized, and she and I would both agree that the Blooper is trash. The point is, the Blooper is annoying, useless, and goes against the design philosophy of Mario Kart items. You look at the Lightning and Bullet Bill, and those items are very clearly designed to give even the worst players a fighting chance, but then the Blooper completely spits on that design philosophy. It doesn't even feel satisfying to use, and worse, it's only obtainable in one of those middle to back of the pack positions, where you should be getting something powerful, not something that does jack squat. Overall, the Blooper should definitely be removed from Mario Kart.
i feel like the mario kart DS fake item block is a lot closer to 64 than most other modern blocks. sure you can't defend with it, but its still way more convincing than most other games
Honestly this is actually a really well made list. I like it a lot. I can't really think of anything I really just straight up disagree with besides well actually I would put the coins lower than every item including blooper. Those coins are completely useless.
The blooper actually does do something to CPU players though. It causes them to swerve and weave left and right and causes their speed to decrease a bit allowing you to get ahead in cpu matches at least.
Coin in D is mental, C maybe i agree. The coin is pretty useful if you’re in a top spot to keep your coin count up (obviously) but ALSO as a defender for the boo item. If you have a good item behind your coin, the boo will only take the coin leaving you with the better item.
@@silokhawkIt’s not “good” but it’s C tier. It does more for the person who gets it than the winged blue shell. Letting first get their coin count higher earlier allows them to break away from the pack, removing the risk of getting sniped by green shells and other items. And the boo defense is a legitimate use case they’re uniquely good at, it’s not just because they’re something you don’t care too much about losing (though that is a part of it.) But they’re pretty much the only item that, by holding in slot 1, you guarantee defense in slot 2, making them by far the most consistent form of boo defense. They’re also quick enough to easily chain if you need to get to the second item slot without a boo coming.
I feel like the boomerang should be able to pick up items/ steal them, while the blooper inks the tires making a spin out possible and then speed up is stalled as you’re slicked, but since the tires are oily if you perform a drift without spinning out mind you it would be a timing thing which would be difficult but if you got it right you would boost with a super fire boost. But holding the drift too long would end in a combustion.
I do respect your tier list, and your reasoning for the placements are valid. But, I would say gold mushroom goes down to D for how much it can f**k you over (especially in MK8DX 200cc), put the blooper in F (i know there isnt a F tier but lets be real), and put the super leaf in A cause of your reasoning (like, come on. When you're in 1st, you need all the help you can get). Other than that, I agree with everything else. Solid video btw.

I just had a thought on some of the items that could be changed slightly in Mario kart 9 whenever it comes out
I think timers on items are kinda mediocre, so my hypothetical solution is as such-
Golden mushroom should be a weaker version of a mushroom, but you get 7 - 12 uses of it so it can be relevant.
Have the coin block a blue shell on a specific frame to reward you for being good at the video game...(Yeah I'd never be able to time it lol)
If anyone has thoughts on if any of this should be fine tuned, or suggestions of their own, I wouldn't mind hearing, cause I'm curious what others think of some of the items in this game
that boo taking the horn right before the blue shell hit you was nasty work.
That Boo is pure evil

One thing I'd mark as a big positive for the Boomerang Flower: It has priority over a LOT of other offensive items, piercing through them without getting destroyed. Green Shells, Red Shells, Bananas, Fire Flowers and even Pirhana Plants all get trumped by it. Only things like explosives and the Super Horn actually destroy the boomerang, so in mid-pack fights it can be way more useful than you'd think!

Why does he hate it so much?
@joshuabautch8936 it just doest do anything. Throws some ink on your screen and that's it. It's not enough to make it difficult to see, doesn't make your tires slick like some people believe, it's basically useless, and you only get it towards last place. It's objectively the worst item

Granted, this doesn't change its effectiveness, but I find it funny he talks about its usefulness during a clip where he doesn't use it.
@@Tyrannee I mean, you can't exactly rate an item's quality based on how unlucky you are during a real race; that's not necessarily fair.

Gameplay-wise it might be high tier but inspiration wise I’d put it at the bottom.
It's just no fun for anyone

The boomerang also cracks defenses.

Side side note: In addition to this, it's especially nice if it's in the first of your two item slots so if a Boo hits you, it takes the Coin and not your defensive item
I've heard so many people say this but I've gotten 2 coins in first place many times online
@@Shadow9923 You probably aren't chaining your items correctly.
64 and DS were the better versions.
I'll give the coin some credit in 8, at the very least if you're already holding a coin your next item is guaranteed to be something else
New players
You do realise not everyone in low positions are new? People are ignoring the fact that 1) High level/competitive lobbies know the game
2) you are playing with multiple people at least somewhat experienced in the game aka if it goes fast, probably not a good idea to boost while a cliff is in the way or spam it on straight lines you can't fall off of is a good idea
3) you yourself can learn more about the track/lab it to see the best options
It's one of those things where by that logic, you might as well remove the triple shrooms since 4-5 mushroom boosts are better than 3. But, where's the fun if every item is just the same broken item?
That and the item itself just really isn't that bad.
@@StaminaLoss I personally like the item and I find it useful if people know how to use them, for example in online or with friends who have played MK before, but it's not for everyone
It's too tied to the xp of the player imo, when the bullet and the red shells are easier to use and the star lets you maneuver more easily
It's not bad by any means, I just think it becomes counterproductive compared to the other last place items, and depending on the player it's gonna be a godsend or suck
0:53 I think you might’ve upset a certain crocodile with that rule
As Shigeru Miyamoto this is the best tier list I've ever seen in my goddamn life
I can appreciate not JUST hating the lightning cloud and appreciating the concept, but (and im sure im in the minority on this) i feel like the growing aspect of the modded lighting cloud takes away from the concept of the lightning cloud.
And then there's Tour, where item boxes literally never despawn, and you can get them even when it looks like they're not there
Boomerang flower fan here!
It also pierces right through defence items
3:18 To defend the coin here for a minute:
Coins are VERY important for balancing purposes, especially in 8DX where you have access to two item slots.

@@silokhawkHis comment was *genuine* criticism not even hateful, so no need to get pressed so as to call out that he may have upvoted his own comment.
I mean, some items that are good in other games are not great in Tour. It's mainline, but plays different enough to where it's hard to rank its new items alongside the ones that aren't locked to score-attack gameplay.
@eternalhoney2024 Because Tour isn’t called Mario Kart 9?????? They aren’t going to go 7, 8, Tour, 10????????
the littlebigplanet karting music in the background is peak music choice
Since you didn't include any of the new Tour items (despite Nintendo definitely thinking it's mainline), I'll give descriptions and rankings for each of them:
*Double Bob-Ombs: Two bombs that revolve around you.
Bob-omb Cannon should be much lower, as it’s often way too hard to aim it properly to do much good with (unless a CPU has it, then they hit all their shots damn near perfectly)
Capsules can actually home in on other racers to an extent, so they could be higher
The hammers when used close can actually target the closest person and since they are thrown in bunches of 3 they can remove an item from that person and hit them
Yoooo I'm actually super excited for this video! Was litteraly re-watching the booster pass video! 🔥🔥🔥🔥‼️
So the coin, who can:
-stop boo from stealing a protection
-hide your bob-omb and horn so you can surprise enemy
-help you get back coin you were hit
IS D, it's really good for surprise. And blooper can help too, he can:
-block vision, so you can't see banana, bob-omb or shell
-make your kart slippery
You have bad taste (coin on B and blooper C for me)
For me it's not a good tier list, horn overrated, boo, flowers, blooper and coin underrated. But it's my opinion
I'm one of the few boomerang flower defenders
Hits multiple enemies at once
Cancels all incoming attacks minus horn/bomb, including the piranha plant
One throw can hit a person on the turnaround if you missed them the first time, essentially providing 5 chances to hit people with 1 item (Throw, return, throw, return, throw)
you can use a third item whilst the boomerang is out essentially giving you three items for a short time
has the single longest range of any non lock on weapon in the entire game (it takes more wall bounces to break than the green shell and goes further overall) and even after being thrown for the third time can still hit more than one person.
Isnt timed so you can space out all three shots for maxiumum damage
It's a genuinely amazing item, and im sure this comment will go entirely unnoticed but the boomerang flower is an incredible item, easy A tier minimum
In my opinion Bullet Bill and Lightning showed be number 1 and 2 because they are so good people purposely go in the back just to fish for them. Specifically Bullet Bill on certain tracks that allow it to go further can enable getting so much in front than everyone else and they can’t do anything about it.
Crying because of discord replacing patreon in outro
It was a very nice season
Lovely choice for music. Bringing back so many memories of LBP Karting...
We don’t have any evidence to support against the fact that silo is working on Mario kart 9
Oh WOW it's such an honor to meet the CREATOR of Mario Kart, such an honor sir!!

Mario Kart Tour is mainline though. Nintendo said it out their own mouths and the entire Booster Course pass was because of Mario Kart Tour. 💀

@@Pyrodiac Wasn't Joking

@@jourdonpatron212 I wasn't saying that you were joking.
"I'm thinking B... for banana" already starting off as perfection
Etc.
And with that, season 4, comes to an end! I can’t wait to see a Mario Kart 9 (wasn’t expecting it either), Good Luck!
I love the boomerang it’s just fun to use in battle mode but I can’t deny it’s lacking elsewhere
Piranha Plant also can be used at will like a golden mushroom if you spam the button, it’s not just limited to boosts every couple seconds on its own
The golden shroom hate is just so confusing.
Mainly in that, you do realise not everyone in a low position is that bad of a player?
It can be a legit strat to lag behind and it makes high skill rooms more interesting. It still is really good when knowing how to use it on top strats like spamming it to maximise your speed boost from a boo steal. Even with something like triple mushrooms being able to be taken in a higher position, you do realise not every map is rainbow road and in general 4-5 mushrooms is better than 3
Even with the argument of the Bullet bill exists, by that logic you might as well replace everything in a low position with a bullet.
Great video as always! You should make a follow up video (or community post) with your ideal item rotation and likelihoods per placing.
Well, good thing this is a silly mario kart tier list, so it’s unlikely anyone will get mad over it…right?
2:29 in some mario kart entries (e.g. wii), you can roll mushrooms in first, however its only available once you’ve collected at least 15 item boxes in first in the race, so it basically never happens.
10:27 blooper doesn’t do much to players in the early games where it just obstructed vision, but in mk8d it reduces your grip making your drifts worse, and can mess up someone’s game if they’re about to take a shortcut
Loved the Veggietales reference! Loved the rankings! Keep up the good work!👍
Solid placements and arguments.
Aaaaaaaaa, the fake item box in N64 Mario Kart was so based with its appearance, yeah.. ;u;
Nice tierlist!
13:48 it's me. i'm its fan.
i like how it's the only way to swap the items you're currently holding in 8, and i always found it more useful than a green shell because it moves faster so aiming isn't as precise.
I completely agree that triple reds is the best item and the blooper is the worst
Banana is actually S Tier because when you’re in first you can drop them on ramps and other precarious spots to make opponents fall off the stage and widen your lead
A thing I think some people sometimes forget is that when you take the coin out of the time roulette in Mario Kart 8, The person in 1st place will barely get knocked back since they never get something that’s not a item to protect them, If they’re extremely good or barley get attacked a lot they won’t fall down from first since they always have something to protect them
Also In Mario Kart 8 for some reason every Triple Item has a chance to still hit you even though you have all of them, Idk if I’ve just been unlucky or it’s just bs
I would have ranked the MK8 blooper separately like you did with the fake box, since it's not useless like the blooper in Wii.
All you said about the horn is 👌
bloopers can be surprisingly effective in 8 deluxe split-screen local multiplayer. Especially if you're playing at 200cc where every turn matters
2:55 In mario kart super circuit, I once stole lighting with a boo... while in first place. That was fun
Few things to note:
> "Unlike the banana, you can use the green shell offensively."
Have you seen how I Mario Kart? That banana is going forward, and you are going to run into it.
10 years later and I had no idea the piranha plant eats bloopers
Ok, but think about the Boo like this:
You get a Green Shell or something similar ON TOP of a discount star, and it lasts significantly longer than a star, you can even get it easily in the mid levels, it's not better than a star but it's certainly worth a lot more than people give it credit for.
To add on, you can spam the Piranha plant to constantly chomp rather than just comping every few seconds, so thinking of it more of an on command mini turbo, it's a better golden mushroom in my eyes because you can spam it in most areas without going off the rails, plus all of the perks you mentioned in the video.
6:35 - AWESOME reference! I grew up with the classic VeggieTales stuff, so it's ingrained into my head
Says how useful the super horn is
Immediatly gets it stolen in the clip
💀
Honestly i really love the pow even now
you can still time it right to spin someone out while in a turn
and the leaving behind the items can be very useful, if you are in a low spot you might get a star or a mega out of it. Sadly no bills cuz they disappear
Coin doesn't deserve D, maybe top C or low B
A singular coin increases your speed by half a bar in mk8 deluxe, 10 coins will increase your speed by 5 whole bars
Coins themselves are not bad but MK8 gives coins out on the tracks themselves like candy, the coin item is completely unnecessary and is really just annoying.
@@Pyrodiac yeah but having 10 coins is really op
@@Potable_scent And you don't need the item to easily get that many, what did I just say, the tracks give them out like candy.
Boomerang flower fan here. Gives me the most satisfaction to use and land. Hitting someone with the boomerang is the ultimate show of marksmanship
small correction with the revolving bananas: in 8 deluxe (idk about wii u) you can get them in 1st however not only are they very rare, they are only obtainable in 1st when playing in grand prix
I think normally the tracks are designed such that you're extremely unlikely to encounter it without doing intentionally (as well as keeping first place the whole time) but it's possible
POW block isn't really that good but at least in high level play i've seen it used as an item-meta play.
I know why they put the Golden Mushroom and Bullet Bill in the same area, Bullet can be a broken, there's skill needed
Mario Kart is just so fun to talk about, think about, play, discuss, and listen to.
i’m actually a big fan of the boomerang. my favorite thing about it is that it pierces items, so if the person in front of you is blocking, it will still hit.
(Even though DS and Wii's is the better version of it)
The FIB does the Coins job but like objectively better.
I would say to move the mushroom up to A tier because in 8 and Wii you can dodge a blue shell
So the coin is good and that's why it should be ranked higher, but it's also bad and that's why you want people to steal it from you? What?
Blooper should just be removed from the item pool and get upgraded to playable character in the next game
