Lost in the Desert on my Little Dual Sport | Day in the Life

- In today's video we slow down a bit and I bring you on a day in my life out here in the desert. Of course it involves riding so first things first we hop on the CRF250F and head into town to get a haircut. Afterwards I stop by Jenny's / jenny.adventures to help bleed her brakes on her clapped out CF Moto 300 NK.
Then we venture out into the unknown on a mission to talk your ear off and get lost in the cacti. We did succeed and had a blast along the way utilizing every aspect that this little 250CC Dual Sport has to offer.
Join me in the end for dinner and a brief chat about our experience with 75 hard thus far and plans for the future.

1980 Honda xl500 was my first bike, I was 13, had to have it on the kickstand to kick start it and had no business on it😂
Now that's awesome!! Things you now wish you would have kept.
First bike at 51 years old couple years ago- Kawasaki 300R.
Dig it.
On a CRF 450RL now. Got it modded and dialed.
Great bike for the Desert.
I’m in San Diego and plenty of Desert to explore nearby.
That's awesome!! Glad to hear the 450 worked out for you.
My first ever motorcycle was 2009 Honda CRF230L. In my opinion, dual-sports are the best type of motorcycle to start on. Ironically enough that is how I stumbled across the Attention Deficit youtube channel years ago.
I'll never forget my first bike. When I was 10 years old my dad had a 1964 T-Bird. One Saturday we went up in the hills for a picnic. My dad told me to go get the food in the trunk. When I opened the trunk there was a brand new 1970 Honda CT 70. It blew my mind. From there I never looked back.
Happy to see subscriber numbers going up on your channel. My 250f just saw the ground for the first time yesterday
Thanks Dylan! I am in it for the long haul so whatever happens happens haha 100K is coming soon. Ouch any damage??
Oh not a crash. It was its first time with the tires on the ground since the show room floor
Just got my first bike a few months ago. 2005 KLX 300R. So much fun on trails, track, and the occasional street ride. Thanks for the content!
Hey man that's awesome to hear, good choice as well. Be safe and have fun! 🤘🏻
1973 Honda SL 70. Got it new when I was 12.
I'm 62 now .
Love it Eric! A lifetime of riding.
I run the flex bars, bought a bike that had them installed, and shortly after I had 2 more sets in the mail for my other bikes. i dont notice too much now that I'm use to them but when I ride a bike without them I immediately notice the difference. also I've found them to be much more durable than standard bars. I've crashed A LOT & went through bars like hotcakes, haven't busted or bent a set of these yet & it's been 4 years 👍🏽
Good to hear thank you for the report! I will definitely be running a set in the future.
I run protaper on my bikes and I'm a big guy I've dropped it by bikes many times have never been those always the stock ones the tusk handlebars are trash also
@@cjjorge6636 I've bent 2 pair of pro taper but I am extremely hard on stuff and I crash big lol I wouldn't expect things to hold up to that that's what surprised me about the flex bars & why I go out of my way to endorse them
Looking forward to the recommendations on the up coming videos.
TANNER ,IN THE OLD BRITISH BIKES THAT VIBRATED LIKE CRAZY ,WE WOULD PUT LEAD INSIDE THE BARS ,WORKED GREAT ON MY BONNEVILLE
I'm glad that you're happy with it and you noticed power gains and acceleration apparently mine is arriving on Thursday or Friday
Unfortunately I didn't start riding until my early 20s. First bike was a 1985 XR200R. I rode the piss out of it. By the time I was done with it, the engine was full of heli coils. The engine block must have been made of pot metal, everything stripped out in it. It also had this dual carb setup. It still would bog. I'd always heard Hondas were bulletproof, this one was a piece of shit. I think they only did that dual carb thing in '84 and '85. I read somewhere those were the worst two years for the XR. So of course I ended up with it.
Hey nothing wrong with that!! Awesome first bike, I didn't know that about the dual carb, sucks you had a bad experience but I am sure you learned a lot.
My current is an 85 XL250r with dual carbs. The 200 was regarded as too complicated for the power benefits. The 250 had overheat problems in those years with a wet sump and no oil cooler. But when tuned well, they still make respectable power. Too bad you had a poor experience on yours.
Goober...LOL I soooo agree with you on what people think, protection and comfort are my priority. I'm not vain.
I'm a new rider (ay 56 years old) and always look forward to your videos.
I want to see a whole video dedicated to diesel! Such a good boy, My German shepherd would never let me ride off if we were camped out.
I love your content bro im going for a 300l rally soon🤠
My first bike was a 2003 xr50 and I worked up to a 125 and I’m way too big for my 125 and that’s how I came across your channel I was looking into getting a 250F and I’ve just been watching your videos for the last week.
My first bike was a 1968 Norton P-11 with high pipes! So, I rode it offroad as well as to work. I still have a couple of them today. I wouldn't dare taking one offroad anymore. ;-)
My first bike was a 1970 Indian 50, I came across your channel a while back, I am also from Ohio been out here 27 years. I recognize where you were at in the video but don't want to disclose the location. Love your content! Great job on the vid's 👍
My first bike at age 3 was an early 90’s Z50 white with the purple and red Z on the tank. Ref seat 👌🏼 then had an XR80 the CRF230F. Been thinking about buying a CRF250F which is what has brought me to your channel.
Im 51 and my first bike was a 1971 XR 75. It still kind of hurts me when I think about it, should have never sold it😥
My buddy had a '75 XL75, man that was a great bike. We rode that thing EVERYWHERE as kids!
Damn that's an awesome first bike and definitely a bummer.
Dad took me down to the local Suzuki dealer on my 10th birthday, bought me a brand new DS80 s stroke. I rode that bike till I was 16! Wish I still had it....
I can see why you love it out there.
1st was a grom because of your channel back in the attention deficit days
Damn that's awesome!!
My first bike ever was a 1992 XR100R I got from my aunt for $300. That was about 12years ago. After that bike, I got a 94 XR250R, then a ‘00 CR250R, and a few weeks ago a 23 CRF450RL. My first street bike, I got about a year ago was is an ‘04 R1. Love bein on two wheels!
I got my 2013 Honda CRF250L & 2003 Honda XR650R and is a lot a fun to have it,
That's awesome!! Such a legendary lineup.
That's a sweet pair!
@@AdventureDaily thank you!
Really love your clips, btw. Refreshingly bullshit-less! Thank you!!
First dirt bike was a 1986 XR250R, I was 12 I think maybe 13 when I purchased it... Took all summer cutting grass and my old maybe lent me $200 as well. I think it was $800 total back in the day. That would have been like '92 or so... First street bike, well... My old man let me drive his XS 650 Special II Yamaha a LOT back in the day, but my first true street bike was a '97 CBR600F3. That was a fun bike, bought that one in 2001 maybe, somewhere around there.
Looks like you're having fun out there, maybe get a cheap handheld ham radio you can toss in your bag, you still might be able to hit a repeater if you need to communicate, even in the bush. Your 250 seems to be perfect out there and I honestly think you won't have any issues unless you really crash bad... I'd only worry about getting a flat. Be careful out there bud.
That's an awesome upbringing into the moto world! I am looking into some of the modern GPS options, will definitely report what I end up with. No flats with the Lucioli setup I will definitely have a follow up video soon.
@@AdventureDaily Good thing with the Lucioli, forgot about that! Yeah, the XR250 was on the big side for me, or rather, heavy, but I really liked that bike. I moved up to a '92 CR125R about 2 years after the XR. Talk about a huge difference! LOL!
Looking forward to the GPS video, lot of options out there for sure. Always Keep in mind that you can download off-line maps from google as well. They have come in handy for me.
First bike is my 2020 CRF250L that I picked up brand new. It's how I ended up finding your channel!
Dope video
Thank you Cam👊🏻
Flexx bars with brass inserts help 👍🏼👍🏼 i have tusk wrap arounds and it does limit the flexx a little but not much
AMAZING views 😊
First was an 81' Honda 50, just restored an 85 XL250R with a couple in between. Love exploring just like youre doing. You've found a pelvis, probably a young calf based on the size, but Im not sure what other deer sized animals you have out there.
1st mini bike... Western Flyer Trail Flite. 4hp Tecumseh, with a v-belt torque converter. 1st motorcycle... 74 Suzuki TS125.
first quad i bought myself was a 08 polaris 300 lol flipped it in 20 mins and broke my elbow. had a lot of other 4 wheelers but got my first dirt bike last year. 2016 drz125. enough for my little pitbike track and ripping around the yard lol
First ride on a Honda 50 mini z at a Christmas fair at age 7 or 8, but my first bike Honda XL100 big wheel 1981/82
The legendary Z50! That's awesome.
My first bike was/is a Crf 250l and never rode a dirt bike before I got it. Been having it for a year and plan to get another road bike and use the 250 as a trail bike that I ride on back roads and in between trails. Perfect for me since I live right by the trails though
Awesome Sam! Glad you have been enjoying it.
The best part of a cast iron Pan is it's the best way to feed your body iron
Absolutely! One of the many benefits.
Are you guys anywhere near Boulders OHV? Pretty fun place to ride that has good trail variety from fast/open SxS stuff to miles of actual single track that both of you guys could enjoy. Recommend checking it out!
TANNER ,IF YOU THINK YOUR WRISTS ARE BEING ABUSED ,YOU SHOULD EXPERIENCE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME ,I WAS RIDING MY HUSKY 510 4T IN THE LATE EIGHTYS AND I WAS ABOUT 30 MILES FROM MY CAMPER AND ONE FORK SIEZED UP AND I HAD TO RIDE THE WHOLE WAY BACK WITH NO FRONT SUSPENSION .IT WAS SO SEVERE THAT I COULD FEEL THE FILLINGS IN MY TEETH RATTLING .IT WAS WEEKS BEFORE MT WRISTS FELT NORMAL AGAIN
Lol. I’m 32 and I got a full size 125cc pit bike. I love it. But now I’m saving to get a crf250f
Had a Honda Z50 at 5 years old. I’m 29 now and it still runs. Had a ninja 250, ninja400, cbr600, Harley Lowrider S. I’m looking at a dual sport now because of the type of riding I do. Quickly sold the Harley because it was just too bulky for my type of riding. Should have never bought it, but live and learn. I backroad on a ttr 230 (not street legal, lol) sometimes and I have had more fun on it than some of the faster bikes.
My first bike was also a pw50 but I was 5 when I got it. Just bought one to fix up for my daughter. She’s about to be 4
PW 80 when I was like 9... First street bike was a 1974 Kawasaki Z1 900 when I was about 24. Bike was insane for being 40 years old.
Classics!!
Where in arizona? I went out there last Thanksgiving and those trails seem to go on forever. Skittish since I had little clue as to where I was heading, but dropping some pins on GPS/mobile was my only recourse from getting completely lost. I brought an extra gallon of gas just in case.
Morgan from @highlandcycles channel is using Mako360 flex handlebars if I can remember. Cheers from France
Cheers Ben! I am definitely going to run a set in the future.
First bike 78 Suzy TS 75. Currently have a Suzy GS500F.
Man tanner you really out did yourself with this one fucking amazing
CRF 250 F bullet proof bikes and also the TTR 230 I have both of these bikes and never had any problems with them for the past three years.
First bike was a 2000 XR100, I think I clapped the transmission the way I rode it. First bike I owned is my CRF230M, 9 years this week with it. I might add the CFMoto's 300 to see what it's like.
My first bike was Yamaha 125, then Yamaha 230, now I ride Beta Xtrainer 300.
My first bike is a husqvarna fe350s bought it last month and love it to death
I don't think you know how lucky you are to have the CRF 250 F model available in your country. Here in the UK, you can't find them anywhere and Honda took it down from their website, I was going to buy one brand new
CB750K. Laid the bike down doing 75mph with a whole lot of the tank slap. Got a bunch of road rash to show for it..
First and second street bike, R6 also😂. Ended up getting heavy into roadracing tracks and finally destroyed the second one. Have had a half dozen street bikes since, but I quit street riding. It's super boring after riding tracks. Looking for an enduro type bike.
Go over to Tatum and Jomax in the Scottsdale area! Really fun single and double track stuff, lots of gravel and lots of whoops.
I need to!
@@AdventureDaily I’ll be out there on Saturday more than likely
What cast iron skillet do you use
Have you ever tried to ride a Honda XLR 250 R special (MD22) made in Year 1994?
Do you have any problems with the knee pads scratching the plastics? Mine seem to scratch my shrouds up on a 250R
Yes it happens that is the biggest downfall, and they get caught sometimes on my tank bag straps. It's a trade off for comfort.
the crf250 got flamout issues too? Or was that just the heat of the moment? Riding looks like alot of fun! Thanks for the walking back to the cam :)
that hill looked tough as hell. I was imagining if the 300L could even make it up that in first gear with a great set of tires???
I was going to comment the same thing since I have a crf450rl 😂
My first bike was a 1976 xr75
Hey man what Helmut are you wearing in this vidoe
My first bike was a Honda CRF 110
TTR 225 was my first
Honda Interceptor 500. Pretty sick bike at 19 year's old.
My first bike was a 250f!
Heck ya! That's awesome to hear, they're great beginner bikes and fun play bikes!
5:15 you found the cook
If you ever make it around Salida CO hit me up
Is this all public land you are riding on? I’m just curious because you know how it is here in Ohio. We don’t really have many places to ride unless you know someone with private land.
you should come to phx on a friday night and go on a stunt ride!
Fox mini bike, Honda c t 70, Yamaha dt 100
You hit a bird! You can see it coming from the left just before you cut to Jenny’s bike and before saying you must have kicked up a rock!
Guy i worked with at a yamaha shop has these clamps i forgot what its called . Pricey but he swears by them for trail riding hair scrambles. Etc
Mako??
what microphone do you use while riding and talking?
Sony Lavalier hooked to mic adapter on GoPro.
Any updates on the stark varg?
Still waiting! They just keep sending marketing emails and showing off features, I supposedly got bumped up on the priority list but we'll see.
First bike 1997 xr 100 first street bike 1998 cb750 nighthawk will never get rid of it
Classics!! Awesome to hear you still have it.
What area?
First bike was a crf450x

Lost in the desert? Can't be lost when you posted. So just find a big hill made of sand, send signals. Maybe area 51 will respond back.
hope you have a spare gas can strapped to that thing
your cooking looks so familiar.. we might have some relatives in common several generations back... too similar
Mini bike with a 2 smoker 250cc on it 21 inch big tires it was a dirt bike and It was fun 😂😂
Consider carying a Garmin in reach or some similar PLB (personal locator beacon) if riding solo in vast desert or bush areas.
Always let someone know where you are going and when you are expected back.
Just in case you break down or stack and badly injure yourself.
Thank you for the suggestion I have been thinking about it and it would be smart. I'll report back what I end up with!
@@AdventureDaily The new iPhone 14 has Emergency SOS via satellite with text messaging. I don't even carry my PLB anymore - that iPhone satellite seems super reliable. Even has crash detection if you become unconscious which I know works as it went on a countdown from a drop off and had to cancel.
