    Huge thanks to Dallas and the Traction eRag crew for this opportunity.
    Want to come up and hang out with me in this same area while improving your off road riding skills? Check out www.tractionerag.com/xtadvdork for details on the event we're running at the end of the summer!

      The Okanagan Valley of BC can get pretty hot, up to 40C (105F) in summer and much of it is considered semi-arid desert. So, be prepared to be hot :-)

    Funny story about Dallas, that you will totally understand. (and maybe help others get it)
    I emailed Dallas and told him I was having doubts about my riding abilities being good enough before the trip.
    He immediately said... "don't worry, we're really good about making sure everyone has a good time, my guys are great, you'll be fine, just trust me."
    Day two there was a choice of rides
    Dallas told me, "I don't think you'll have a good time on the single track ride, come do the dual sport, trust me"
    On the last day we also split up, harder single track and more relaxed ride. Again, Dallas told me I should go on his ride, it'd be more of what I like... trust me...
    After I left, I sent him an email, thanking him for the week, ending with "I'm glad I trusted you".
    He replied something nice and finished with... PS: I can’t believe you trusted me! 😎
    He's a wicked man, I tell you... lol!

    I'd like to assume that on day 4 I'd elect to do the harder single track stuff, but my 50 year old brain tells me that my 50 year old body that hasn't done anything more than a 2 day ride in years maybe not. That looks awesome what you did in this video. Most appealing. Really enjoying this series.

I'm really interested in the ibex 800 as I might be moving and will have to do 100 miles round trip for work a day and I'm not sure if you talked much about the cf bikes in general unless I missed it. Thanks.

    This was a nice ride. Do you ride faster on these loaner bikes than you would on your own CRF300L? I know you normally ride with wild abandon. However, this seems to be Wilder Abandon.... Or maybe it's just the "camera affect."

    Why is there no comparisons from anyone on head to head between Chinese vs Japanese dual sports ? The New Chinese dual sports true 250s 6 speed counterbalanced machines seem darn good for less. Seems to me there is something contractual to keep this from occurring. Road, fire road, easy trail ,technical trail and hard trail comparison would be great.😗 Rider and former racer here since 1972.

    I currently have an Africa Twin AS and while I love it, she's way too big for me to be doing fun stuff like this. I was looking at the 300L (not the Rally) for doing some single track and stuff near a friend's cabin and while I thought dropping over 200 pounds from the AT would be nice and light, I'm reading a lot that the 300L might continue to be too heavy for more technical off-road stuff. Would you agree with that, or would you give a thumbs up for a 300L in the backwoods? There's no trails near me so I need the bike to be able to at least take the highway to get to my destinations, but I'm wondering if I should be looking into something different, or just give up and get dirt bikes and a trailer.

      CRF300L Rally owner here and a Dork fan. I would say if you are a young strong guy the 300 may be fine but if you are over 50 or 73 like me it is still to heavy for single track. If only ride single track once and a while it is probably fine. If you want to ride a lot of single track my advice would be a trailer and dirt bike. Almost all dual sports in the 250 cc to 400 cc are over 320 lbs. My 300 rally weighs 330 lbs plus the weight of the skid plate and rear rack.

      I don’t know why people think the Rally is much different from the L model, because it’s not. We have both in the family, so I have had the opportunities to ride them both, and there is nothing that I could accomplish on the L that I couldn’t on the Rally. That being said, the 250F is way lighter and flickable than the dual sports. But depending on your skill set, there’s nowhere you can go on the 250F that you can’t go on the dual sports. Though I could do it faster on the 250F.

    • @acdp11
      @acdp11 3 месяца назад +1

      @@airadaimagery692 yeah, my skill is quite poor. I thought snowmobiling and street riding would at least make me passable off-road, but I'm too new and my current bike is too big. I'll probably go test out the models listed here in the thread and make a decision later this year.

    • @airadaimagery692
      @airadaimagery692 3 месяца назад

      @@acdp11 yeah, I agree, you would have way more fun on a crf250f. Even though I love our dual sports, I always have more fun on the trail bike. I have even put some serious consideration into plating the 250F like Adventure Daily did. I personally never plated a dirt bike but I have friends who have, so I know it’s possible here where I live.
