I still think it’s easiest to just knit a tube and put in after thought heels to use all of your self striping Christmas yarn. I do them all the time to use up my yarn and get the heel in exactly the right spot. They are super easy to do and adding a few rounds before decreasing makes them fit really nicely across the instep. Good luck!
My sister was the most knit-worthy person on the planet. I did one pair of self-stripping socks with afterthought heels, and she couldn't comfortably wear them. Family thing of high instep. I would also make her socks with anatomical toes.
Loved you Vlog Martyn you made me laugh over the dishwasher it's exactly the same in our house my husband has a certain way with it!! Love the colour way of Gemma Advent right up. My street xx
Omg ! Mark and Richard could have a great conversation about stacking the dishwasher 😂😂😂I am not allowed to do that either… see us crafty’s have to stick together!
I love your decorating tradition! It's so much fun and adds a bit more excitement to the decorating. I don't know if we (the US) sent you the wind, but was surprised you braved it. We had winds in Ohio up to 45 MPH. I've never had it happen before, but my french doors on the west side of the house burst open and I tried to close them while being pelted with ice and fighting the wind. We live on a farm and there is nothing to stop the wind so SWOOSH!!
When you described the dishwasher situation my husband laughed as that’s us too, I am a whack it in and in any order person 😂 I really enjoying your vlogs and that you do a few days then release a video. I struggle to keep up with any day to day ones, as lovely as they are!
I’m enjoying your videos! The Toft mystery is always fun. As far a holiday decor, I take a picture of what I’ve put up so that the following year, I don’t have to think so hard about where everything should go! 😂
Lovely tree. Hope it has a wonderful scent for the flat. Oh I saw some closed window shades, nice. Love your advents, exciting to watch. Safe travels this week. xoxo
Lovely tree 🌲 well done boys. I think morag would look lovely in an Easter bonnet and you will have plenty of time to make it before Easter. 😅 I ' acquire ' a thin coffee stirer stick from a takeaway coffee shop and find it the best thing for stuffing small toft. I still think it maybe hansel and gretal, cant wait to see it finished. Take care. Sian from Wrexham 😊
Great fun. Love the tree. 🌲 my decorations up. Smaller this year as I’m in Manchester for Christmas with mum (90) and then Castleton catching up with grandson and 2daughters/sons in law. It’ll be colder than here.
You live in such a beautiful place. Your tree is lovely. I love the yarn in your advents. I've made the Exploration Station and I'm looking forward to seeing yours all done in those neutral colors, or should I say natural colors. Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Your tree is looking beautiful 🎄. I know you mentioned Hansel and Gretel when you first opened your Toft advent and that’s what I said too when I seen the key. Now you have two little characters it makes sense (do you think you will be making a witch?). It is a fairytale but not very Xmassy. It’s so exciting to see your advents - thanks for sharing (Gemma’s colours are stunning 😍)
mark was soooo right - the tree 🎄is perfect - mark get well soon ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹 and don’t worry - it’s sooo nice to watch these longer episodes have a good time - can’t wait to see the next video 🙋🏼♀️❤️❤️❤️
There’s less than 8 hours of daylight here in Edmonton. Sun rose at 8:39 am and set at 4:15 pm. It was all I could do to watch Midsomer Murders. Now I’m in bed watching you. No knitting done tonight. 😢🌚😴
Love your vlogmas episodes and what you are making. Awesome tree, but one thing is missing: a Swedish flag ! Since you have a Norwegian and a Danish one
I always love your tree 🌲, gorgeous as always. Partly decorated? I need my niece to go into the attic to get the decorations down. I hope Mark feels better!
You need to make Starry Light by Laura Nelkin for your windows. Basically you knit with Fairy Lights. Hardest part is finding lights long enough, I managed with 45 feet for recommends 60 feet.
How delightful to see everything you’ve been up to over the last few days! Loved seeing the tree in all its glory! Your Advents are all lovely and seeing how the Toft is coming along is just fun! Well done Martyn….sorry you’re not feeling well Mark….(by the way, only children do have their good points as well 😂) Looking forward to the next Vlogmas episode.
I think I said last year that I don't do the TOFT calendar. I don't crochet, and I'm alright with that. Trying to figure what the theme is, has however become my 'thing': a) Based on the bag alone, I thought it was the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. The boxes are a house, which could have been the house the Edmunds siblings visited where the wardrobe was? b) Based on the same house motif, could also potentially be Hansel and Gretel. Maybe that's what you're currently working on, and you'll be doing the witch later? c) Little Red Riding Hood. I mean it would be too obvious if you started with the wolf, wouldn't it? But none of that explains the circles that you started off with... Ooh the plot thickens!
You will need a creamsicle orange mohair/alpaca and a pink mohair/alpaca and a third colour of mohair/alpaca to go with the darkest colour or lightest colour yet to come. 🤷🏻♀️
Does the tree sit in water? Or just in a stand that keeps it up? I’ve never had a real tree (I keep mine up for 2 months -mid-November to after Ukrainian Christmas), so I don’t know how long it can stay alive with/without water.
Poor Mark looked so cold on your walk - if only he had a beautiful Argyle sweater to keep him warm 😜 Great job staying up to date with your advents. I'm only opening my two (TLGG daily and Lonely Knitter's Dr Who themed) and I'm already so far behind. Such is life! Love putting up the tree and adding all the special sentimental decorations. Brings such joy 🎄
I realize that folks might think these are “fighting words,” but I don’t understand why people think Home Alone is a Christmas movie. It accidentally happens at Christmas & could have happened at any time of the year. Same with Die Hard. 🤔 TBH, I haven’t ever seen The Vacation movie. Or Home Alone all the way through for that matter. Just clips on talk shows. The premise for either is just not appetizing. Maybe it’s a “guy thing?” And sorry but Love Actually and A Christmas Waltz (Hallmark) are the best Christmas movies of the (post 1985) modern era. And the original 1966 How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Boris Karloff is the best Christmas TV show. No ifs, ands, or buts.
beetroot 🧶 amazing Toft let me guess Tree hunt 😂😂😂😂 Health and safety act you let me laugh out very 📢 Love your hairstyle Antons advent wow yhe goodies awesome and so practical. The yarn..... Wowwww
I think we’re a bit strange in the UK and it depends what we’re measuring as to whether it’s imperial or metric! But we definitely use miles and our speedometers in the car are miles-per-hour too!
I think your Toft advent is Hansel and Gretel. 🤔 The boxes just MUST be the Gingerbread house! 🤷🏻♀️
Omg daddy’s little soldier got me soo bad 😂😂
Thank you so much. Beautiful wool! Get better soon, Mark!

For a Hodge Podge tree, it is very cute. Really well done!!

Lovely tree well done! Glad Toft is going ok- so far x
That was fun Martyn, love the tree and the Toft 12 birds of Christmas, the longer episodes are the absolute best x
Great team work decorating the tree !!!
Thank you for the Holiday Cheer! 🌲

Your🎄looks beautiful, as every year! We traditionally put our tree up on 24th Dec. but this tradition has changed over the years here in Germany. 🎄✨️
I’m enjoying your videos! The Toft mystery is always fun. As far a holiday decor, I take a picture of what I’ve put up so that the following year, I don’t have to think so hard about where everything should go! 😂

Every time you say, "I'm very compliant, In (insert designer) we trust," I giggle so much. So cute!!!
I like all your vlogs! Happy advent time. 🧶🫂❤️
Beautiful tree and fun episode!❤
Fun stuff 💜 🎄 🍷

So nice to see the bay looking so festive. Glad you got back that wind was ferocious scary about the window
Just dying quietly, lol! Hope Mark feels better soon💕 Loving vlogmas!

Merry Christmas to you! I loved when you were putting the lights on the tree and they reflected in your windows. Well done!
Ooh love your tree! I have special decorations collected over a lifetime on mine. I may have put my three trees up the first weekend in November 😆
We fondly refer to the Xmas tree as Brussel sprouts
You need to make Starry Light by Laura Nelkin for your windows.
Basically you knit with Fairy Lights. Hardest part is finding lights long enough, I managed with 45 feet for recommends 60 feet.

You looked sooo cold… where was Mark’s hat??? I loved seeing where we had been in Cardiff.

FYI….the knitting tree LA has wicked themed emotional support chickens. Thought of you when I saw them.
Does the tree sit in water? Or just in a stand that keeps it up? I’ve never had a real tree (I keep mine up for 2 months -mid-November to after Ukrainian Christmas), so I don’t know how long it can stay alive with/without water.
I want it done my way! I am an only child too but my way is the better one. Hahahaha
Martyn, do you ever close your window shades?
Poor Mark looked so cold on your walk - if only he had a beautiful Argyle sweater to keep him warm 😜

😂😂😂
FYI it appears Max and Vincent are somewhere in England if you wanted to catch up with them. I know you’ve said you liked them.
No Arne and Carlos baubles?

Mark needs a hat!
I've gone through the last 4 videos looking for the pattern of the kid's hat - anyone know what it is? Cause I think I need to make a few....
Well, I think I know what the Toft advent is, but I'm guessing you've worked it out too?
Where are your Arne and Carlos baubles?

How to thread yarn through a (smaller eye) tapestry needle…😊 love the vlogs ❤
I'm an only child, I understand 😜
beetroot 🧶 amazing
Toft let me guess
Tree hunt 😂😂😂😂
Health and safety act you let me laugh out very 📢
Love your hairstyle
Antons advent wow yhe goodies awesome and so practical. The yarn..... Wowwww
Why do you say 'miles' instead of 'kilometers'? Aren't you guys all metric?
I think we’re a bit strange in the UK and it depends what we’re measuring as to whether it’s imperial or metric!
