You two are so funny and your Grandma sounded like a great lady. ❤ I love curly ribbons it’s traditional 🎉 It’s a cooling rack, the wire tray you’re thinking of.
Arne and Carlos, I love your humor and generosity. Sharmen should be thrilled with her prize. And, yes, she should pick the pattern with the most colors and the largest size 😅. Happy knitting.
I just finished my Julehoso stocking in honor of my half-Norwegian dad who died this year. I miss him terribly but knitting this stocking in his honor made me feel better. Thanks for the pattern and the inspiration this Christmas!
Just wanted to say that I loved watching your videos and I am now a knitter and specifically now know how to knit the Norwegian way of knitting because of the two of you! :).

the saying about "wishing in one hand", we say that in America too....both my grandmothers, my mom, my dad and my paternal grandfather told me that when i was a kid...also, i believe in the second "Grumpy Old Men" movies with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, the actor Burgess Meredith said that line....hearing a really old man say that was histerical, but very true
Oh my goodness! I thought this was just an American saying from 2 generations ago! I didn’t think Europeans would say such crass things! 😂 No, not really - but it was fun to hear you both labor over repeating it! 😂 Merry Christmas 🎄🎁!
This was by far, my favorite episode❤️ I love your story about the Pokeman store. That could so easily happen to anyone! I like in NY and grew up with curled ribbon on our packages! I love the whole process making the curls. In my home our kitties go crazy playing with those packages that are wrapped that way underneath the Christmas tree. You both bring so much happiness to me. Lately we have so much sad news going on around here and time spent with you both is the brightness in my day❤️. Thank you Arne & Carlos!
You two are amazing crafters. I enjoy your videos. Thank you for walking us through the Christmas Stocking. It made me feel comfortable learning to knit with numerous colors once. As though you were right there beside me. I always wanted to learn to knit patterns like that. Thanks again.. Congratulations to the Winner 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Arne and Carlos, The ribbon curling reminded me of one of my favorite aunts. When I was a child, I watched her wrap Christmas presents and she curled the ribbons on the gifts just as you did. RIP aunt Ruth!!!! Elizabeth in Texas
Thank you for another great conversation. I agree, people seem to get hurt feelings much more easily today. My grandma used to say, "toughen up, buttercup".
Oooh! I hope there is some penguin inspiration from the Antarctica trip in upcoming designs! Thank you again for your generous Christmas stocking KAL. It was such fun!🐧🦭🧡

Congratulations to Sharmen🎉 happy knitting😊 I love that wishing saying by the way, hilarious🤣 hope you guys had a wonderful time in beautiful Paris..saw the short of you both at the flea market.
Oh inversions! We get them all winter here in Boise, Idaho USA too. Our house is often above them, and at times it looks like the valley below is filled with mud. Celebrate the bright sunny winter days no matter how cold!
Your home looks so warm and comfortable. You would be fun to hang out with..you’re interested in so much and you’re both funny, warm and generous….thanks for being you!
Enjoyed the discussions about sundry subjects. I love the dog sweaters; I did a colorwork sweater with poodles across the sweater. The word you were looking for Carlos, was cooling rack.

That's funny we have that saying too. See which one fills up first. Haha My grandmother was a no nonsense lady, tough lady, but we knew we were loved. My best life lessons were learned with her. I miss her everyday! Thank you for sharing your memories and lives. The pokemon shenanigans were hilarious.
Another wonderful Advent post! I'm so delighted with the stocking and now I'm on to knitting some Christmas balls! You spoke truly that they are addictive! Thanks for sharing!
I live In Oregon near Portland. We get inversions because of the winds on the Columbia River Gorge. It creates ice storms and causes a lot of travel issues. I used to always use curling ribbon, my mother taught me. Many years ago I started using real ribbon and now I use ribbon with wire edges. My favorite is burlap ribbon with Christmas motifs like deer, holly. gnomes or poinsettias. This year the women in my family got together and made Lefse. Friday I made Krumkake for our family gathering. My sister and I are creating Scandinavian traditions for our younger family members so they might carry them on. For my holiday with my kids I'll be making split pea soup with Norwegian waffles. I hope I can find brown cheese. Congratulations to the lucky winner!
