    I really like the design of the hotshot 2 but the Egress rerelease I preordered in December makes it a little hard to justify buying one currently. What a great kit!

    The main thing I like about the re release of this is the price is low and not stupid money as everything seems to be these days.. If I don't win your Gav this is one I will def be buying.

    Regarding the screw pins there was a good idea from RC Action Australia. For the front suspension of the terra scorcher he heated up the screw pins as much as it needs to soften the plastic a bit during screwing them in. As a result there shoud be much less pre-tension in the plastic, which reduces the risk of cracking. So far the theorie, I had no change to test it on my one until now....

    • @joedipietro2559
      @joedipietro2559 10 месяцев назад

      Are you referring to the screw pins that attach the front and rear suspension arms? I think they should be fine just with lots of Grease applied. They go in much easier that way. 👍👌

    Just read through the description of video looking for price of this car ..but found something else interesting. I see you use Plaig Bearings here in Australia I use these guys for all my fishing reels as well 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

      Yep, a great company to work with. Next time you can save 10% off using code RCKICKS at checkout and save yourself a few $$$. One day I will make a visit to collect some bearing kits :)

    Makes for an entertaining vid but i take my time, building is as enjoyable as running the finished article

      @RCKickschannel  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yep, you are spot on. Thats the thing, making RC content for a YT channel is not the same thing as building an RC for yourself that’s for sure.

    Isn't that a Tongde US M60A1 ERA in the bottom right hand of the screen starting at 1:54. You now have 2 tanks in your collection? When will that be on the channel?

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  10 месяцев назад

      The two tanks have already been on the channel. Just search on the channel page or type "tank rckicks"

    Well i wasnt a mile away, i went to 4.5 hours as you where painting the driver. Looks epic Gav 👌 i think we will see a few of these at vintage events this year. Its one i want to get, but its down the pecking order sadly. So will be a good few months away yet 😭

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, The front shock will need some tuning for sure to dial it in as the kit setup oil is miles off lol. In kit setup, it feels like a frictions shock as the oil is way too thin. Stunning looking vintage buggy mind.

      @@RCKickschannel ive seen a few put zip ties on to reduce droop 😂 or it was to hold it together. Cracking buggy either way 👍

    The servo thing is confusing. Are you sure the servo saver was seated all the way? The regular servos back in the day were the same size as the newer ones

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  10 месяцев назад

      Yep it was all the way on and the screw fitted. The servo horn was rubbing on the far side of the bulkhead.

    I've got a Wild Willy 2 that I bought in the Summer of 2000.
    I haven't quite got round to building it yet.
    Only 24 years, and counting.
    Too busy playing with the 1/1 scale cars.

      I did a detailed WW2 build on the show not that long ago. It's great fun and well worth doing, but it does take a while to paint up.

    @RCKickschannel This was my first ever RC car. I loved building this back in the day.
    This may be controversial but on completion I was disappointed that it didn't look like the box art. ( My parents still has the kit even though they retired to Jamaica and I'm almost 50 😂 )
    The box art car is wired and low and basically looks amazing not unlike the real dimensions of most pro buggies. Wide arms low stance but the finished car is chunky narrow and far from low stance.
    For example the Egress box art really does look like the completed buggy. In fact most time your box art looks way closer to the stance of the finished buggies.
    If I was tamia I would create a new version of the hot shot that was the same stance of a modern competition buggy but the styling of the hot shot and the hot shot 2. Now that would really be worthy 😊

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  10 месяцев назад

      You can adjust the stance easy enough to make it as low as you want, you just put stops inside the shocks.

    • @DevonMcFarlane
      @DevonMcFarlane 10 месяцев назад

      @@RCKickschannel That would help 🤓 but The Hot Shot Chassis is genetically big boned. You could remove the shocks and let that belly hit the ground and it still wouldn't match the sexy box art 🤣.
      Have you ever done a breakdown of old tech Vs new tech? I'm aiming to get RC10 B7.x and would love to know what the new setup is about

    Its a beauty Gavin. I have just last week put my deposit down for 1 of these too. Cant wait for this to arrive in Australia. So much better looking than the Blockhead version too👌👍

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  10 месяцев назад

      I have to agree with you. It’s a shame Jun from Blockhead couldn’t do another design but I can see Tamiya wanting to stick with the same livery as the Blockhead Wild One sold so well. This was a mistake as releasing a family of Blockhead kits with all different styles and colours fits more with Jun Watanabe’s style.

      @@RCKickschannel That’s my thoughts too. They got the super shot ones right. Just needed the deep red plastic. Maybe because they were longer and were kits for other models too. Still thankful they made a HS2 though.
