I love Halloween Kills, because A) it’s the most brutal version of Michael Myers ever seen, and that includes the Rob Zombie ones. B) it accurately depicts how the average person, with no training or experience believes that they have what it takes to defeat evil and be the hero, only to be hit with the realization that they are grossly unprepared and unqualified to do so. C) it’s the only time in the entire Halloween series that Michael actually wins. He accomplishes his goal by reaching his destination and looking out that mirror. And by doing so solidifying his legacy as the Boogeyman of Haddonfield.

While "Masterpiece", might be a stretch, "Kills" is definitely alot, A LOT, better than the detractors would have you believe. I still think "Halloween 18" is the best sequel in the franchise, but I really like this one.
Kills is not only the absolute best in the trilogy but for me top 2 best sequels in the entire franchise. Halloween 4 and Kills are my favs
Halloween Kills was a victim of the modern "everyone's a dumb rotten tomato critic" craze." It's everything you could want in a slasher/Michael Myers movie and then some. And the flashback scene alone puts this film in my top 3 Halloween films.

Loved 78, 18, and kills, Ends doesn't exist in my own reality, Michael can't die, he escaped and is still out there, no cringy Corey or any of that garbage

Lotta people I know talk shit on Kills and the plot, but looking back at the franchise as a whole, the best ones are shitty slashers with bad plots. H6 is my JAM but it's dumb as hell lmao.

I never cared about Halloween before hearing about a new movie in 2018, which finanly motivated me to give it a try. So I watched the 1978 original and then the trilogy and truly fell in love with the characters and the universe.
The David Gordon Green’s trilogy is not perfect but I it would always be special to me for introducing the franchise and delivering one of the best horror/slasher experience in years.
I love Halloween 2018, and though I wouldn't call Kills a "masterpiece", but it's a really solid slasher flick as well and is so much better than many would lead one to believe (funny enough, I noticed that fans of the franchise often give this movie much more credit than critics and casual viewers, which definitely says something). So thank you for showing appretiation for the movie cause it's well deserved!
Halloween Ends however... Well, it'd be interesting to hear your take on it, but I thought it was a mess - with some great ideas and scenes which just didn't form a cohesive whole and didn't work as a proper ending for the trilogy.
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thinks Kills is literally the best sequel in the franchise. I don't get why so many people hate it like it's so good

In halloween 18 the townspeople are all more or less nice.
In Kills, after the hospital crush, they all seem to have collectively gone insane, and by the they time Kills comes around they all have become obnoxious assholes.

Thank you, finally someone who agrees with me. My favorite Halloween film is Halloween Kills. Now before ppl start hating on me let me give some background. I’ve been watching horror movies since I was two and Halloween so happens to be my favorite out of the biggest horror franchises. I personally think Michael is the best horror antagonist something about him just makes him bad ass. I don’t know I can’t describe it. Basically I’m a nerd for horror. When I was watching the trailer for Kills I never felt so hyped up for a film like that. And continuing on I watched Halloween Kills with my friends and oh my god i absolutely loved the film. Yeah I get there’s problems with the dialogue but here’s the thing when you as a viewer go into the film with a negative mind set for the movie it isn’t going to be a great film to watch for you. Halloween Kills is my favorite for its prime Michael Myers, him killing everyone and literally getting the shit kicked out of him just to get back up and kill a whole group of armed ppl is highly un realistic but my lord it gives me goosebumps and joy watching him be the scariest and bad ass horror icon. I personally loved the story I fell of track with Lorrie in the hospital giving those “Ted Talks” but other than that I loved it. I think it’s a great continuation of the story and I personally think it’s my favorite of the franchise but that’s just me. I’m very into horror and a lot of things I feel like represent my style and love for horror which so happens to be this film. Anyways sadly Halloween Ends didn’t make me feel the same way I actually hate that film with a passion. I think it ruins Michael as a character and made some stupid character that was supposed to replace (M) but get killed like? Anyways hope there’s others out there that can agree with my opinion on Halloween Kills, because I personally find it to be one of the most watchable in franchise.

It’s a 9/10 for me. Although i think they should have added one more home invasion kill but instead of a couple, it’s the cat girl at the party from 2018. Love this movie tho, same with 2018

Best halloween ever to me
certainly interesting to watch this trilogy as a whole, or better yet watch all 4. The one thing I really do appreciate about them is that they make Micheal human. and the horror, the Evil is being projected onto him by the trauma of the town and particularly Laurie. At first it bothered me how much abuse a damage Micheal took yet he was still getting up, took me out of it slightly. Yes that is great for the Micheal audiences know based off ALL the films in the franchise but it wasn't part of this particular series. Ends really help bring that into perspective. Understanding that Micheal was in a pure euphoric drug high. pump full of adrenaline. I loved the mob mentality. is accurate to he situation and also very poignant social commentary. And I really love when movies actually have sorting to say. I also loved how it echoed halloween II. same night, hospital, Laurie being treated etc... even Ends echoed Halloween III by shifting focus. I enjoy the original II. and H20 but these are superior films in every way.

I can’t stop watching kills because it’s so good from start to finish… Ends I liked as well because it was a different take on Micheal that we never seen before…. I loved Kills tho

I liked Halloween kills alot, I thought it was way better than the rob zombie films also better than 5, 6, h20, and resurrection.
I don’t know, comedy is just not something I’m going in for when I’m watching a slasher.
Halloween II is the best Halloween sequel, then 4, H20. 5 and 6 are better compared to blumhouse's schlock. Halloween kills is a REMAKE of 4, and the 2018 Halloween, is a remake of II, ends, is whatever the hell it is.

The hate against this movie is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!! I mean, everybody can have and should have their opinions!!! I think the criticism towards the dialogue and some character’s stupidity is valid even though it does not bother me, I love the evil dies tonight line despite they kinda overused it but I think people overreact and hate way too much about it lol. About dialogue, this is a movie obviously people don’t talk like that in real life, I like the humor, this is a slasher obviously we will have some stupid characters, maybe my problems with H kills are the nurse got killed way too soon, so why to bring her back ? And the mob couldn’t distinguish Michael’s body type to the guy that committed suicide BUT they released only the photos of them not their names so it kinda makes sense but I love the mob and this thing of mob mentality. Aside these little possible problems, I LOVE h kills and it’s perfect!!!!!!!!! This is a Michael Myers movie !!!!! The flashback is perfection ! The kills are brutal, creative and great. This is the definitive version of Myers, the fact Laurie is mostly in the hospital doesn’t bother me because she is fucking hurt !!! So obviously she’s not gonna do anything !! I personally prefer the extended cut ! I love every scene, the score is top notch, overall this is a balls to the wall slasher/ Michael Myers movie !!! What else you want ????? This movie is soooooooooo underrated, 2nd most underrated just behind resurrection. H kills IS my fav Halloween movie after h20 being my number 1 for a very long time, kills kinda beat h20 😂 It’s about Michael killing people. People really really take the flaws of this movie way too seriously and get very busy shitting on this movie instead of just enjoy it ! I mean you can have negatives about but call it one of the worst H movies, are you kidding me ?????!!!!!!!!!!! No way ! It’s a 10/10 for me. At least after h ends, some people started enjoying kills and even resurrection more lol despite I do like h ends as well ! I like every h movie actually even H2 2009 that is by far my least fav. This movie relies on pure stupidity to get Michael out alive it’s unexplainably dumb also the concept of these kinda makes no sense bcuz they are outdated it’s 2018-2022 and they still have these non working phone tropes also if micheal only killed a couple of ppl 40 years ago why is there mass hysteria about him if he was captured his face would be everywhere he’s 6ft+ how was he mistaken for a short overweight bald dude why did Lonnie go in alone why didn’t they call for help why didn’t Karen kill micheal after stabbing him in the back instead of luring him into the trap THERES SO MANY MORE QUESTIONS THAT MAKE NO SENSE JUST PURE STUPIDITY
Halloween 2018 was a big disappointment. The only thing i really liked about Halloween Kills was the flashback scenes. Those were great! The only Halloween films I'll always recognize as the best are the original and its TRUE sequel from 1981. 😎
I actually love Halloween 2018 and kills more than any of the other sequels. I'd go original then (18) and then Kills. I love (18) and Kills about the same. Halloween Ends is a completely different story I just didn't like it and I tried.
I've been watching since the first Halloween and I didn't think it could get any worse than the Busta Rhymes Halloween until they made Halloween ends and I get what you're trying to do but blumhouse destroyed Halloween

This was the only good one out of the new trilogy. They ruined the potential of the first one by constantly cutting away from Michael to focus on kids we don't care about and out of place Danny Mcbride penis jokes, and the third one was all over the place.

My favourite trilogy. Halloween ends is personally my favourite because of that kitchen fight scene, ı loved every second of that scene, the chemistry between laurie and michael was awsome totally masterpiece.

Although I agree that I loved the more kills, the sub plot Evil dies tonight is synonymous with Martha and Somehow Palpatine returned. That basically destroyed the movie. Killing off Karen sucked cause it was done such last minute and didn't the police JUST check the house?! Made no sense. It was weird that Laurie was basically a cameo but understandable. But overall these mishaps...killed the movie. Ends just... Ended the franchise and made no sense
All valid points! Karen’s death to me always felt like an extension of the Michael vs the Mob scene so I feel like if you were out on the mob in general then I can see how you can poke holes that scenes logic. To me, Karens arc through the two movies saw her go from not believing in Michael really at all to almost seeing through his eyes in her final moments and I think that’s an interesting way to finish her character off.
@@DefGoldFilm For Karen, yes, thats a nice way to see it IF that was a main part of the story. It was so jam packed with crappy subplots that I didnt really see it that way. It was more like..."Um why are you going THERE?! How is MM in the house when police were just in there seconds ago? Must be that the actress wanted out cause this made no sense whatsoever." (FYI this was doing covid so I understood if the actress wanted out). Michael vs the Mob made no sense in the pt 2 version cause all they needed to do was all gang up on him like in pt 1 but noooo, instead it was some Power Ranger/ martial art fight where the stunt guys go after the main guy one by one instead of all at once. Again, I thought lazy script. To me, this movie felt like the studio forced a quick turn script to make a quick buck since Universal was hemorrhaging $ badly and needed another franchise hit.

Halloween Kills is top 5 for worst Halloween movies ever. Just terrible. The flashback scene is the only good part of the movie and even that had its flaws. It goes RZ H2, H Ends, RZ Halloween,Resurrection and H Kills for top 5 worst of the franchise. I’d love to break it all down for you, but that is way too much to type.

It’s definitely not a masterpiece. A fun entry sure but a masterpiece is a stretch. It’s poorly written, oversaturated with pointless fan service and filled to the brim with cringey dialogue. There’s good bones forsure and the overarching message of evil spreading and turning others into monsters is a great idea but David Gordon Green suffocates his own movie with his poor writing, his need to be on the nose, and constant references to far better Halloween movies.
