@@Jimmy1982Playlists the reason why I say the Scorsese is more appropriate is because Nas is rooted more in the New York Ethos than any other MC. Jay is rooted in a hustler ethos, not necessarily NYC as much.

some of these are spot on; not sure i agree with the kendrick one tho. i feel like kedrick is more subversive and his writing and lyrics are the highlight, his production is also more jazzy and interesting maybe pta or someone would be more accurate.

I hate that Kanye (not a fan) got linked with my favorite artist of all time, Stanley Kubrick, but i guess i understand it 😁 Curious what other artists you considered comparing to Kubrick...
My top artists/filmmakers: Stanley Kubrick, Federico Fellini, Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Orson Welles, Terrence Malick, Paul Thomas Anderson, Martin Scorsese, the Coen Bros and Alfred Hitchcock.
My channel is dedicated to playlists of my favorite artists, in particular, musicians and filmmakers, as well.
I thought about doing DOOM, Kendrick and Lupe for Kubrick but I ended up thinking their other comparisons were more fitting.
I’ll try to include some more of your favorite filmmakers in part 3 when that comes along!!

I would put Prince as Stanley Kubrick but Kanye really might be Kubrick if he would just stayed quiet i want to be Kubrick of Hip-hop or J Dilla hell he made a album called the Shining.

Another thing Kubrick and Kanye share is their choice to indelibly mark and ruin those around them for "art" when in reality many in their direct field have created projects of the same quality, some even surpassing them, without having to stoop to that level of tyranny. The actor equivalent of this is the method actor.

I’d need to see more Mel directed movies but that seems like a perfect comparison actually
@@DefGoldFilm well my reasons are that Mel and Ye are both seen as experts in their craft, but are known to be crazy. Even the mediocre works have their fans and people that have worked with them said they bring a special energy to the table. The controversies spurred by both and the recovery from it are most worthy.
