NOTE: I only had the camera to test for 1 1/2 hours (90 min). Normally I need 3 weeks to fully test a camera in studio. So, obviously I couldn't go over everything, so keep that in mind. Nevertheless, special thank you to Fujifilm for both inviting me and following me out into the street, LOL! 👍
I am someone who rarely posts in the RUclips comment section, but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all of your hard work and quality content on and around the FujiFilm camera ecosystem. I have on many occasions found your videos to be invaluable and I don't think there is anyone who does it better. I look forward to seeing more from you on both the X-H2 and X-H2s in the future
I have never been so delighted to watch a review until now. Your enthusiasm and excitement of the camera gave me so much joy. Can’t wait to see more of your videos 😊
The front manual focus dial (S,C,M) was changed to a digital button to work with the 7 custom settings. When you set a custom setting you can choose either Single, Continuous or Manual focus, and having a manual type dial would confuse or interfere with this. So as much as I love the manual dial, I can understand Fujifilm reasoning for doing this
When I added an XT4 to my 5D m.II I was so excited about the dedicated dials and those little evils now are not an option but a must have. In almost 2 years of usage, I've NEVER use the video mode button and I think this tells more than everything else what this camera represents to me. I agree with your last words about a possible XT5. I love photography and I really love the XT4 experience.
I just have rented an X-H2S for two days. In the beginning, I was very confused about the relocated or omitted buttons and dials, being a year-long X-T3 user. But after this bad start, I grew in love with the new system more. I really like the deep grip, it makes lugging the camera around much more comfortable and secure. Also, the command dial is really handy for separating different frame rates and F-log/ETERNA and allows fast switching between them, with the shutter speed changing automatically (when set). Also, changing the shutter speed with the wheels proves to be faster than using the dial for me. Then there's the ISO, which stills feels slower, but the point is that often, I don't need to change it, I will either set it to ISO 640 for DR400%, ISO 1250 for F-log 2 or higher values the occasions that I shoot at dark. So I feel like it doesn't even have to take weeks to learn the new system, but someone will likely be seeing the first fruits already after some days of (thoughtful) use. So in the end, I feel like the mind-blowing image quality of these news sensors, and especially the new F-log 2 in the X-H2S prove to be worth adapting to this new handling, combined with the added speed benefit of 7 custom modes. I feel it's a very worthy compromise and when I have the money, I will likely add the X-H2S to my equipment to be my new A-camera. I would highly recommend you to test the video features of the S-model, the dynamic range and color reproduction are amazing in F-log 2 on it! There's something so filmic and rich about the footage, it's clearly a step above the X-T3 and X-T4 and I am glad for that, it means we have something truly new!
@@benchabasilem4352 specs-wise, pretty much nothing. that's the thing with fujifilm. as a brand, their cameras are generation-based. so, for every generation, all cameras will have identical or very similar specs. the differences lie mostly in the body style. the XT4 is SLR-style that's designed for both photos and videos (it's got IBIS), while the XPRO3 is a rangefinder-style with no LCD screen (it's hidden) and optical viewfinder. so, even though they have the same specs, the XPRO3's design makes it hard to do video. but yeah, they're pretty much the same exact camera in different bodies. same sensor. same specs with minor differences.
Definitely a big question mark for me ! With the price tag of a FF camera, I in addition to that I have to change all my lenses then the choice between moving to the XH2 or switching to an other brand FF offering would be really seamless from a cost perspective. I would love to see Fuji push the customisation of their new cameras to the same standard as the a7IV.
I'm hoping it works well with my large collection of vintage lenses also. However, since I'm having no problems on the x-s10, I think the vintage aspect would work the same.
Hi! I like your Vids! But I had to say this.. The Exclusion of the MCS Focus Dial, has a REAL purpose. = In order to allow the custom dials to be fully Customizable, that needs to be done. => It allows you the set the type of focus individually, to each custom setting you desire. (manual, continuous or single) *Which is actually brilliant. I absolutely hated at first.. but when I realized this is the reason it makes sense. Thanks for the great content!
Completely agree. I love the MCS dial on my XT3 but actually understanding why they've done it is clear. On XH2s I can now set C1 for Fast Action: Continuous autofocus, 40 FPS, fast action , auto ISOetc. Then with one click to C2 I have landscape, single shot, single focus, different colours, manual ISO etc etc. C3 = action movie etc etc. Whereas on the XT3 I have to move every dial (almost). for each type of mission change. I'll still get an XT5 as well though!
I started with a PASM dial with Nikon, so I wouldn’t be upset at all. I do prefer my X-T4 dials way more, but I think higher megapixels for cropping capabilities, future proofing video with 8K, better AF, and the deeper grip are worth it for me. I’m still upset that Fuji STILL hasn’t added a feature to close the shutter when changing out a lens. I’m sure they can add that in a firmware update, but the question is, will they?

Dear chris I own the xh2s. I wish you could test it. 40 frames a second twice as fast as the xh2 14+ stops of dynamic range and an autofocus on par with Sony. That is a beast of a camera. The İSO performance is at least 1,5 stop better providing a fantastic Low light performance which I am a little concern with xh2.
You might want to reconsider using HEIF for its potential advantages and wider capabilities (I don’t use Adobe so that may be skewing my perspective, but on Mac you have Photo, Rawpower, Affinity, Pixelmator, shell scripting tools and probably others)
I'm only interested in this camera as far as what to expect out of a new Xpro 4 and X100VI or whatever they're going to call it. The PASM dial and articulating screen kills it for me personally but I'm happy for everyone else!
Hi Chris, I’m an X-T3 user for years and I have absolutely no doubts I will switch. I tried the X-H2S for 1 full week and I was almost ready to keep it…but I would prefer to have the 40 Mpx option. I’m waiting for the X-H2 to test it and probably keep it if is AF is OK for me. Regarding your question about the AF switch of AF button: I prefer the button over the switch because I can assign an AF mode to C1-C7 custom modes. For example, during my test of the X-H2S, I had C1 for AF-S + single point for AF and C2 for AF-C + zone focus.
Thanks - very informative as always. What I like are: the 40mp for detail, the loss of the SCM dial (it never got hardwired into my brain on either the XT3 or X100F, so turning the camera around is a pain), and the PASM dial (I've seen the light! It's just so much faster and the custom options are great for quick switching of shooting modes). What I don't like is the flippy screen (I never film myself and having the screen on axis to myself and the camera seems more intuitive to me). So there is a lot to like here. The big concern (which you have alleviated a little) is just how much we can push and pull those crowded 40 mp in LR.
I really hope that the 40mp sensor comes down to the XT5, I do not like PASM very much. As someone who learned photography on an XT3, the way I control the exposure of my shots doesn't neatly translate to a PASM system. But I am also concerned about my current lenses, will they be able to resolve a sensor that's nearly twice the resolution?
Thanks Chris. As you know, I'm still packing the XT3, BUT...the XT5 is something I'm waiting to see what Fuji has in store for us! It looks like you packed a lot of testing this camera in a limited amount of time. Your reviews and opinions ae always honest and insifhgtful1
Got my XH2S earlier this week. Regarding exposure compensation, I just figured out this tip if you want to use it while in manual mode while using auto ISO (like I do for wildlife photography). You need to assign the exposure compensation option ("+/-" icon) to a button. Then you use that button to turn it on/off, and when turned on you'll use a dial to adjust the compensation. (In shutter or aperture priority, exposure compensation is always available on the other dial than the one you have configured for aperture or shutter in those respective modes.)
Super pumped about this, but a little bummed at the same time about the Front/Rear Dial settings. Looking for them to add the ability to add ISO to one of the command dials like the previous cameras via firmware update. Being limited to Aperture and SS doesn’t make much since, given that all native lenses (as far as I know of) have aperture rings. That level of customization really set us apart from other companies. But with this, it makes me feel like we’re heading towards an overly digital set up that takes away from some of what made Fuji so special and different. I think the ISO button is a great addition, as long as our options aren’t taken away. That flexibility with the dials is more suitable for fast paced shooting in my opinion. My set up was Right Index on Front Dial (SS), Thumb on Back Dial (ISO), Left Hand under lens for Aperture - it was so intuitive and fluid as opposed to having to press a button and change the ISO on screen. Would love for this to be added to the camera
As a recent XT switcher, the button for changing the focus options (single to continuous) I agree, that muscle memory thing on the dial is a big change. PASM was a relatively easy transition for me from the XT3 (but then I have a Ricoh GR3 so the custom options are a natural extension.) The ISO button v physical dial was the hardest thing to deal with tbh. Getting there 3 months in! I'm on an XH2S but the above all applies to the XH2 given the same form factor and physical input layouts
Thanks for sharing this, Chris. Honesty and brevity come to mind in all your videos. I have an XH2 on order but truly I’m not a videographer by any stretch so I might hold off and wait for the XT5. Always start my Friday mornings with pal2tech. Thanks, again.
My X-T4 has randomly been having the dreaded "Turn Camera Off & Back On Again" error almost since it was new. It's much more frequent now - to the point it's unreliable. I have sent it in to the repair depot twice now and they don't seem to be able to resolve the issue. The X-T4 has been the most exciting camera I have used since film. With it's unreliability I am seriously looking at replacing it. I need to have the X-H2 in my hands before I jump. I also have considered waiting for the X-T5. Thanks for the great review of the X-H2.
Nice video, I want an XH2 (I own an X100F and XE4) what do you think about the Kit lens with XH2 (comes with Fujinon 16-80mm) or is better choice bought apart the 18-120mm ?
While waiting for the X-T5 or even the XH2 I bought the newest version of the 10-24 and a 16-80 for traveling ...to discover they are both not "optimal" for these new 40mp sensor. No words.
Great video as always. Your parting comments about the possibility of an X-T5 absolutely sum up my feelings and I suspect you’re speaking for a lot of other Fuji shooters too. Fingers crossed we don’t have too long to wait!
I came to the XT series for the same reasons as you. I'm waiting for the XT5... I like your enthusiastic way of presentation. Thanks a lot and keep it up, best greetings from germany ✌
I’ve been using the X-H2S for the past two months. I came from the X-T3. Initially, I thought the PASM and the AF button would give me trouble. I have not found that I miss the AF switch or the exposure dials. Yes, you have to relearn, but then, you’re relearning what Sony, Canon, and Nikon users already know. You see it settings on the screen. You gotta use the camera to get the feel for it, Chris.
As a Fuji X-T2 user wanting to upgrade i was thinking about buying a X-H2, but i read that some of the older lenses like the XF 18-55, XF 55-200 and the old XF10-24 won't use the full resolution of the new 40MP sensor, so i am waiting for an X-T5 and the specs of that camera. And i only shoot stills, so i dont need the video specs. WIll you do further testing with th X-H2 and maybe some of the "cheaper" lenses? Greetings :)
I had the XH2S on a loan for a week-end recently courtesy of Fujifilm UK (for those who don’t know, you can have it for free up to 2 days with any lens of your choice. Thank you Fuji. The other brand who does it is Canon in the UK and I had to pay for the Sony A7IV 😔). Coming from an XT2, I wasn’t bothered at all by the PASM dial nor the focus mode switch. I went to the zoo to test the autofocus and I wasn’t disappointed at all. It’s only issue I had and still have is with the price tag. An APSC camera at 2,500GBP, with same image quality as my XT2, some very advanced features I don’t need as an enthusiast shooter but not a professional. The XH2 gives you more megapixels, much improved autofocus vs previous Fuji models even if not as good as the XH2s (still to be verified on production model) and is 20% cheaper. If I stay with Fuji, I think it will probably be the XH2 and not the XH2S. The only point to verify is how well the “old” Fuji lenses perform on this brand new 40 megapixels sensor. If the XH2 requires changing lenses, I’ll probably go the FF route….
Awesome! I always enjoy your videos and your way of teaching. Thank you. I am attracted to this type of Fuji with PASM. Now I have to decide which one to choose, the X-H2S or the 40mp unit without the S. I am just telling myself, that having almost all the capabilities of the Canon R5 for a fraction of the cost and with a more excellent grip than an X-T3/X-T4, really catches my attention, without mentioning full-size HDMI port, wow! Take care! I will be with my eyes open to see if you throw at us another excellent video of these cameras.
Coming from X-T2/3 (skipped 4), the PSAM style definitely took a couple gigs to get used to. I just wish Fuji would let us customize the back dial for ISO. I hate having to 2-step (press button then rotate dial) adjustment compared to dedicated dial on X-T series.
i love to use my two X-H1 Bodys and still wait for a long time to the X-H2. Now i decided to wait a little more to the X-T5! Maybe this would be the right new camera for me. Thx for this great video!
Thanks for another great review Chris! I had an excellent experience with the AF in the XH2 as well and also tested the XH2s. I found the XH2s to have slightly better autofocus too - I was very happy with the improvement over my XT4!
Great video! Your channel is hands down the best for fujifilm shooters like myself. We appreciate the care and hard work you put into your content. Much love, stay safe.
I am so close to purchasing the XH2. But, my experience with the XT3 made me fall back in love with photography. Especially street photography. I plan to keep my XT3. So, I’ll continue to feel that joy. But, I don’t want buyers regret to set in when I see the specs and release date of the XT5. So, like you, I will probably wait until I see a specs list for the XT5.
I always enjoy watching your videos. They are professionally made, provide lots of interesting information and are entertaining. As an X-T user I think I would also miss the dials on top of the camera. And of course the switch for focus mode is the better solution. As you said, you do not need to look at the camera or the viewfinder to know in which mode you are in.
it looks like the x-h2 is an hyper x-s10. coming from that camera i pretty much see no disadvantage. the dials work the same way,the ergos are pretty much the same...
X-T line and X-H line are different, so it should be. I don't understand why people keep saying the same worry. I mean, When the X-H1 came, the XT-3 was there and the XT-4 followed.
This was an amazing review as always ! Thank you very much for that. I still use and love my XT3, but because I mainly do video, I was looking into the BMPCC 6k Pro. However, with the XH2…. I would really love to see Fujifilm more in the cinema world.
Thank you so much for your video! I was looking for a “second” camera as a Wedding photographer , but I realized I will continue working with the Xt4 waiting for the Xt5! Really nice video! You got a new suscriptor.
Would love to see a review where you compare the best CFexpress and SD cards for both photographers and videographers. There's so much confusion out there specifically about CFexpress cards right now.
Mr. 2tech: Thank you. I have been totally frustrated with the AF on my X-S10. I bought that camera so that I could use the face/eye AF, only I really can't. In fact, I dropped back to AF-S, with a small point, either focusing and recomposing or moving the point over the eye or whatever. Your brief demo here really convinced me that the X-H2 has got it right. I intend to try one ASAP at my friendly dealer.
My X-S10 eye/face autofocus improved some after the last firmware update. My last paid shoot in studio I used it exclusively and it did well with the old XF23 1.4 and XF56MM 1.2.
@@Rholmes2010 We need another update, IMO, but Fooi seems to have abandoned _Kaizen_ in favor of telling us that in addition to new cameras, we need new lenses.
When considering switching to Fuji from a system with PASM, this may the model to buy. But upgrading from my X-T3, I would wait for the X-T5. On the other hand I still haven''t used all the high tech options of the X-T3. It is still a perfect camera. Upgrading only because there are newer models, in my opinions is a waiste of money. Before going digital I used an Olympus OM-1n for almost 15 years.
Thanks for the x-h2 review. This is the only youtube channel that regularly makes me chuckle! And I love the closeups of your xt that show all the battle scars. That is a well-worn bit of kit. When switching from nikon, the whole reason I chose fujifilm was for the mechanical controls. And I chose the x-h1 over the xt due solely to the grip fitting my freakishly large hands better. That said, I can see how video shooters would prefer electronic controls that don't make noise or otherwise interfere with the video. I'll be sticking with my x-h1 and its wonderful mechanical controls, but I'll be looking out for your xt-5 review.
As an XT-4 user, I agree that it takes some time to get used to the PASM and associated buttons and menue's. But I really struggled with the EV compensation and I am still somewhat confused about bracketing. How do I know it is one? I made the mistake of going one a photography tour/ seminar with a one day old X-H2 and while everyone loved it, it came back to me with various functions adjusted and suddenly I noticed all my shots were bracketed. So it will take some getting used to but I am really pleased with the out of camera and RAW files especially as I have studio work in mind. Thanks for a great review.
hey there, I currently shoot on an X-T2 and I don't have any plans to buy an X-H2 or X-H2S. The autofocus of the X-T2 is already plenty for me, as well as its resolution, and video specs (4K30 with Flog, yes please!). I still have my trusty old Nikon D700 and even though I would like to have a better grip on my X-T2, the reason I switched to Fuji is the compact size and modular aspect of the thing (with an additional grip, I can have a grip that is just as deep and the D700, while being much lighter. And if I don't need it and want a smaller camera to fit in a bag, well that's just one screw away). So in the end, is the X-H2 on my radar? No. Even the X-T4 wasn't (found it a little too bulky and I'm not really a fan of the flip out screen). I'm curious to see what the X-T5 will be but I fear it's just going to be an X-T4 with the new sensor and processor which would not be the camera for me. I understood that the 4th generation of Fuji cameras needed a video centric body (the 3rd gen had the X-H1... as they said) and the X-T4 was that hybrid that the X-T3 kinda wasn't. Now that the 5th gen has two awesome video centric bodies, I would have hoped for the X-T5 to be closer to a photographer's camera like the X-T3 is. Time will tell but my guess is I'm going to keep my X-T2 a few years more ;)
Chris, a nice introductory set of early observations... I look forward to your more complete reviews. When you mentioned doing a future more complete comparison, you may find this recent review from the UK helpful by Wilkinson Cameras on RUclips. There video reviews are very well done from real user experience after several weeks' of use. As you desire to do, there compare both new Fujifilm model reviews entitled: (1) "REVIEW - A Full Week With The Fujifilm X-H2S - in-depth review" and (2) Fujifilm X-H2 Review - How does it compare to the X-H2S?" The reviewer does a rather informative job explaining aspects and camera usability, while shooting live action bike racers with the former vs landscape and family shots with the later. A highlight is her comparing the video cropping capabilities in 4k and 8K videos taken. Her impression is she preferred the X-H2 for a more rounded use-case. Thanks again for your comments and please keep up your very helpful camera videos. Thanks.
I went from the X-T3 to the X-H2S. I don't miss the dials; PSAM was easy to adjust to. I wish they had released the X-H2 and X-H2S at the the same time to enable better comparisons. Now I think I may have been too hasty getting the H2S as the H2 seems better oriented to still photography (which is what I do), and and X-H2S more to video. I'm really looking forward to a direct side-by-side comparison, particularly in image quality and focusing speed. I hope I don't have to trade in the H2S for an H2! I also prefer the focus switch to the button. But on the X-H2S it doesn't work the way you say in the video: You don't press it repeatedly to switch modes, you first press it and then use a dial to cycle through the modes. This is very inconvenient. But a bigger problem that I have is that I keep accidentally pushing it when using the lens zoom ring. To the point where I have had to deactivate the focus button. Thanks for the great video(s)!
Great review and thank you for the direct comparison to the X-T4. I am a long-time Fuji shooter who is on the fence about upgrading from the X-T2. I love the dials on my camera, and am hesitant about moving to PASM. Appreciate your perspective.
Thank you for the video. When I switched to digital (after shooting film for over thirty years) I decided on the X-T4 simply for the form factor, I’ll wait for the X-T5 (If the improvements are significantly better), there's nothing wrong with the X-T4, especially since I only shoot stills.
I was the same as you, wait for the X-T5 then you have the perfect camera. BUT for me, I do a lot of sports, so a stacked sensor is likely the better option. I read that the X-T5 is likely to have the ‘non-stacked’ version so I bought the X-H2s after much hand wringing..
If they release X-T5 with same features as X-H2 but X-T4 body, I'll certainly trade in my X-T4 for it :D Awesome video! Missed the chance of meeting you in person by a day... had the pleasure of meeting Take (bigheadtaco) at Fujikina, and he said it was great meeting you earlier :)
Fantastic review as always Chris. Coming from the X-S10 I would probably love the XH2 but for now I'm quite happy with my camera. Thank you for the review!
The focus mode selector, as a button, won't cause conflicts if the camera is remote controlled. As a newcomer to the X-mount system, and maybe I'm becoming too old, I find the front lever focus mode continually confusing to remember. I wish it was a slide switch, and preferably on the back. But I understand why it may now be a button, and I believe it can be customised too which is good for those that just shoot in one mode.
Focus button could be one click for S double click for C and triple click for manual focus. i had xt4 and now i get used to psam dial of xh2s since i’m more into video. So having those custom buttons is so good for switching modes. Since that’s more important for me on the go. I’m sure xt5 will be with the classic buttons.
I think I'll wait for the X-T5 before I rush out to buy the X-H2. Like you, the whole reason I like Fujifilm X-T(x) is that they are tactile and have proper old school dials for main functions. I dislike multi-function dials and switches, the X-T series just works so well with my workflow, I can't see me liking the X-H2.
Thanks Chris I think I’m where you are on the XH-2 I got to try one in the Fujifilm House of Photography in London yesterday and it’s mighty impressive although coming from and XT-3 quite a leap in size to the extent that it’s not far short of a GFX. I’m going to hold fire and see what an XT-5 brings before I jump to PASM
Just what I needed, I was not sure (coming from the XT3) if I should go with the XT5 or the XH2 as both cameras are currently the same price. I loved my xt20 and xt3. So, I’ll go for the xt5
As drawn as I am to a higher spec camera I just cannot leave my dials (and dedicated SCM switch) behind. I have been using the X-T1 & 3 for 6 years now and my finger muscle-memory is nigh on perfect. I can keep my eye firmly fixed to the viewfinder, watching the scene, and still make the various dial/switched based changes; I can do it in complete darkness too, with the LCD switched off! I too am praying the X-T5 retains the ergonomics but incorporates the higher spec.
I'll miss the focus mode selector. Like you said, it is very helpful to know what mode I'm in when I just blind move the selector. But this XH2, I can't unless looking at the screen.
Picking up one tomorrow for a crazy good deal...going to sell me XT4. I'll miss the dials, but I've shot with PSAM forever as a Canon user. I won't be too sad!
Fantastic video as usual, thank you. If you get to buy or rent one for future episodes I would love to know how much impact older lenses have on image quality. I’m sure Fuji would love me to buy a whole new set of lenses but that’s not going to happen any time soon!
Thanks, Chris. You make a great case for this camera. Seems so impressive! I too would miss the dedicated dials too dearly - it’s why I chose fuji and what has made photography fun. I’ll still be getting my reps in on my x-t30 for a while yet but I will join you in dreaming of these performance features migrating to the x-t bodies.
Hello! I am delighted with your delivery. But I must say, respectfully, that I am disappointed with the lack of reference to the X-H1, it's real predecessor! Many thanks, a faithful subscriber to your excellent channel
Whooa, you have it on my favorite lens, the XF 50 mm F1.0.....my favorite ....well, that and the 50-140, both are beasts. What a beautiful sight, the 50 with the XH2....🤤
Thank you so much for this review, I was about to order the camera, and was eagerly waiting your review! The best channel, for my fuji education! I hope they will soon send you a camera to try it everyway it's possible! The only thing I would love to get is the animal eye focus!!!WHYYY can't they put it there, don't they know that wildlife photographers prefer more mpx paired with a good long tele? We do have place to crop in, which gives us all the details plus composition possibilities .... thank you very much Ryan (By the way is your name Ryan or Chris? ) I will have a hard time to change from Xt4 to the XH2!!!! Best wishes for you from Uruguay.
as far as style the new focus mode button is more in line with the modern style of the x-h2, while the switch is more consistent with the retro style, I wonder if the can add an audio clue to tell you where what mode you changed to when pressing the button....
Looks like a lovely camera! Thanks for your great work and coverage of the Fuji system. I'm with you on waiting to see what an X-T5 would be because I love the dials on top as well. I'm hoping that the X-T5 would be in the 28 to 35-megapixel range though.
Great first impressions video. Thanks! I'm going from an x-s10 to the x-h2 when I can get my hands on one. It's an easier 'leap' than from my x-h1 which I got after the x-s10. With the x-h1 I liked the many dials *unless* I was in a hurry. Having a single dial to switch to full auto is very handy. The custom settings are also much more *inclusive*, being able to set focus mode, burst mode,ISO, IQ, etc. at the twist of a dial to a single position (C1 is birds-in-flight) instead of getting the same shooting mode on the x-h1. Conversely, it's also faster switching back to P for 'normal' shooting modes. For those with an x-s10, play around more with it and the transition to the x-h2 will be much easier:) BTW: I went from an x-t20 to the x-s10 for IBIS!!
Great video, thanks for your time and afford putting this together. I agree with you that I prefer a switch verses a button for the focusing mode. I’m looking forward to the xt-5 and hopefully the same features as this camera with all the manual controls.
Another great video. I found you a few weeks ago and I’m in. Off subject - the tops you wear. I had a gray one and a burgundy one years ago and I’ve forgotten where they came from. Would you mind letting me know where to get one. Thanks!
Hi, Chris. Sorry I missed you by one day at the Fujikina in NYC. However I was able to make the acquaintance of Take - great guy. Although I currently shoot both X-H1 and X-T4, I have ordered an X-H2 along with the 18-120 lens from my local camera dealer. As a former owner of Canon cameras with their ubiquitous PASM dials, I will be reverting to that mindset. Although I prefer several tactile dials to one PASM dial, I love the balance of the H2 with the new aforementioned zoom lens. Also the superior grip and leaf shutter of the H system cannot be gainsaid. I guess the aphorism, "There ain't no free lunch," applies in this case. Thank you for your introductory reviews of the H2. I look forward to further reviews of this camera after your purchasing one. (Hint, hint!)
Chris I much prefer the focus button over the switch (for my line of work). I have one Custom setting which has all the things I need for sports - including AF-C. More times than I care to mention I have gone out to shoot sports only to realise after a few minutes that the camera is still in AF-S because I forgot to flick the switch.
I really love my XT3 with it’s 18mm F2 and a 70-300. Just a bit anxious that Fuji are leaving me behind but it won’t stop me enjoying my photography. Maybe one day I’ll get the XT5 if, as you suggest, it comes with the dials… Thanks for the insightful review, great work as always 👀
I’m happy because you were invited. You deserved it. Cheers from Mexico
When are you gonna buy one??😂😂😂😂
I am someone who rarely posts in the RUclips comment section, but I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all of your hard work and quality content on and around the FujiFilm camera ecosystem. I have on many occasions found your videos to be invaluable and I don't think there is anyone who does it better. I look forward to seeing more from you on both the X-H2 and X-H2s in the future
Thank you so much Ryan!!! That's so awesome to hear and I really appreciate the kind words! 🙏 🙏 🙏
100 percent agree best Fuji specific channel. Taught me so much
I disagree with my own statement above. Should have said best camera channel or best total channel on RUclips. Not just Fuji specific channel
Absolutely agree. Really helpful.
I live in NY and was going to go just to meet you. But I had a sudden death in my family. I'm bummed about buying the xt4 in May for 1895.00
I have never been so delighted to watch a review until now.
So as much as I love the manual dial, I can understand Fujifilm reasoning for doing this
Im surprised fuji didn’t gave you one considering how helpful you are for the fuji community
I‘m waiting for the XT5: mostly because of the Retro look and the dials. Thanks Chris for your opinion.
same, but XPRO4
@@riverpb5250 Hi I have a question what are the differences between the xt4 and the xpro3
Thank you ☺️
@@benchabasilem4352 the body and video capabilities
I think my biggest situation is wanting to know how it handles older lenses.. like the older 56mm 1.2 and the older 23mm 1.4
☝🏻Also, the oldest Fuji primes like the 18mm f2, 35mm f1.4, and the 60mm f2.8 macro.
(manual, continuous or single)
*Which is actually brilliant.
The İSO performance is at least 1,5 stop better providing a fantastic Low light performance which I am a little concern with xh2.
just wanted to say, that I genuinely love your coverage of the xh2, the first person to properly show off image results in depth.
I was all decided in getting a Z6Ii but now this camera exist. 😎 Now, this very entertaining and informative video has me wanting the XH2.

Thank you so much. I was so confused as to why the back exposure comp dial would work and sometimes it wouldn't. The X-H2s is a different beast.
@@Secoutal Glad it helped. I was about at wit's end and thinking about returning the camera when I finally found that in the manual. 😄
My thoughts RE also about x-t5... and I'm currently still using x-t2, so do need IBIS and better autofocus. Will wait a bit
Thanks for sharing this, Chris. Honesty and brevity come to mind in all your videos. I have an XH2 on order but truly I’m not a videographer by any stretch so I might hold off and wait for the XT5. Always start my Friday mornings with pal2tech. Thanks, again.
Thanks for this review, Chris. Looking forward to getting mine!
I would love to see 26 vs 40mpx to see if there's really an advantage.
Heh...I just commented that I finally figured out how to set that up. Yeah, one more dial or such would have been nice. :)
i love to use my two X-H1 Bodys and still wait for a long time to the X-H2.
Yep, so helpful and entertaining! The camera looks fantastic, but like you, I'm going to wait and see what the XT5 has to offer.
Definitely I’ll be waiting for a posible XT5 coming over, thanks for the advice!
100% Agree on preferring a focus mode dial over a toggle button. I literally got used to using it the way you demonstrate. By "feeling it out".
I follow you from France and it’s always a pleasure to see your videos. Big thanks 🙏
I'm hoping the focus mode dial sticks around for the X-T5. It's one thing I really love about Fuji's cameras
X-T line and X-H line are different, so it should be. I don't understand why people keep saying the same worry. I mean, When the X-H1 came, the XT-3 was there and the XT-4 followed.
Agree with you 100%. I think the X-T5 is the one to wait for. Those specs with that body would be perfect.
I had so much trouble with the micro Hdmi. I'm so glad to have a bigger HDMI port in the xh2. Thank you for your hurry up-video
As you desire to do, there compare both new Fujifilm model reviews entitled:
(1) "REVIEW - A Full Week With The Fujifilm X-H2S - in-depth review" and
(2) Fujifilm X-H2 Review - How does it compare to the X-H2S?"
The reviewer does a rather informative job explaining aspects and camera usability, while shooting live action bike racers with the former vs landscape and family shots with the later. A highlight is her comparing the video cropping capabilities in 4k and 8K videos taken. Her impression is she preferred the X-H2 for a more rounded use-case.
Thanks again for your comments and please keep up your very helpful camera videos. Thanks.
Wonderful, still going to keep my lovely XT4. With that said, when are you releasing the new Flash Basics Video? the first one was gold
lol. I have been waiting for that too
I went from the X-T3 to the X-H2S.
If they release X-T5 with same features as X-H2 but X-T4 body, I'll certainly trade in my X-T4 for it :D
Awesome video!
I bought the XT-4 because I’d it’s retro feel…I have PASM with my Z6-II and am done with it, I will wait to see if an XT-5 is I were to upgrade
from your review its our conclusion that its the best without any con. and must buy
I'm with you on waiting for the X-T5, it will be an amazing camera 😎📷
Love your opinion on the XH-2 Chris. I'm on the fence between the upcoming XT-5 vs this one. Next month holds the answer I guess. Cheers !!!
Excellent and unique perspective. You had me glued.
Great video man. Quality of the stills look amazing
I will wait on the XT5 and keep using my XT3 for now.
Video very helpful and kept me from spending my money on the wrong camera.
I definitely prefer the front manual focus dial (S,C,M) on X-T3 vs the push button on X-H2. Thanks for all your great videos.
Chris - Thanks to your very good video, I ordered the XH2.
Top review, couldn’t be improved on and really appreciate your videos. 👍
I own an H2s and I've got accustomed to all changes vs. X-T cameras except for the focus mode button. I hate it! I love the switch!
We do have place to crop in, which gives us all the details plus composition possibilities .... thank you very much Ryan (By the way is your name Ryan or Chris? )
I will have a hard time to change from Xt4 to the XH2!!!! Best wishes for you from Uruguay.
as far as style the new focus mode button is more in line with the modern style of the x-h2, while the switch is more consistent with the retro style, I wonder if the can add an audio clue to tell you where what mode you changed to when pressing the button....
Personally I am waiting for the X-pro4.
Thanks for sharing your experience with via X-H2
For those with an x-s10, play around more with it and the transition to the x-h2 will be much easier:)
BTW: I went from an x-t20 to the x-s10 for IBIS!!
Maybe one day I’ll get the XT5 if, as you suggest, it comes with the dials…
Thanks for the insightful review, great work as always 👀
Wow, a video without bumping the camera and lenses of each other. :)
