  • NEED SPEED? Barry shows you how to replace your stock Club Car Precedent electric golf cart motor with our D and D high speed motor. This motor will take your golf cart to another level, by giving it speed on flat ground, performance out of the hole, and reliability you can expect with D&D. The motor upgrade in this how to video will require a solenoid upgrade (we have a video), a controller upgrade (we have a video), and cable upgrades (we also have a video on this) for proper installation. Please subscribe to our channel for the latest videos on installing popular golf cart parts and accessories. Also check out our website to purchase these components.

    I love the videos that Barry provides, but as fun as they are, the price of the parts that he is purchasing is very high for my "comfort zone" if you will. I do have a 2008 E-Z-GO 36v with larger tires, a radio and a back fold down seat, but other than that it is completely stock. I was wondering if anyone could inform me of how to increase speed and/or torque without breaking the bank.

    Good video, but when I phoned the company to ask a few clarifying questions the person on the other end had no knowledge and told me to go to the website (which is where my questions originated). A better trained person could have made a sale.

    Great channel! quick question- is it easier to remove the back seats etc to
    Get to the motor? Or just jack up the back end etc? Looking to swap my stock motor/controller for a high power one. I have 6in lift with 23in tires. I need torque for mud/work things! 2008 CC precedent!
    Thank you!

    I wonder why my motor on a 08 club car presedent has the blue wire on F1 and orange F2. I did the whole kit from d&d with the 11.4hp motor and 500amp controller and solenoid. My question is would it be ok to put 72volts going to it.

    Barry --on my 2011 Club Car Precedent 48 v 3.3 amp motor Curtis controller spped is 14.5 mph stock tires wheels. new batteries, now questions: do all I need to get 20 mph is a new hi speed motor? specifically I will have to do nothing to the controller? or wiring? I know if I increase my tires wheel sizes I can get more- but id be ok with 20 mph or so-- for some reason the spped code number I got through a local cc dealer from club car will not work? for some reason other dealers want to re-work my cart and id not be happy spending what they asking to do the motor tire controller scenario.

    Is it necessary to upgrade the battery cables to 4 guage when switching to a high speed motor? My new motor seemed to gradually slow and then abruptly stop working for 5 minutes or so and then start working again.

    I'm curious what the speed difference is between the stock and Speed motors, and also how Speed Codes 4 or 5 affects the Speed Motor?

    • @diygolfcart
      @diygolfcart  9 лет назад +1

      Butch S That is a very loaded question with so many different questionable variations. Golf Car Brand versus other Brand's, Motor Brand versus Motor Brand. We could be all day discussing Motor Amperage Draw combined with each manufacturer's stated Horse Power Rating. Not to even mention the Voltages of the golf car, (36v vs. 48v).
      Speed Codes raise the Governing Knee Point, which is the actual speed that the Controller was programmed at from the factory. The Knee Point can be raised allowing the car to gain about 2 to 3 mph per Code Number.

    I work on several golf carts my main concern is that we have two president golf carts with two bad controllers. They were caused by two other co-workers who didn't know what to do. I've heard of turbo motors that don't require a controller. Do you know anything about this?

    Barry I realize that when you're doing these tutorials, that most of the time you're talking to novices. But could you please quit being so condescending? It comes off as though you're talking to children trying to do these repairs. Most are most likely grown men just trying to fix their carts.

    • @Cool-Trees

      The only one being condescending here is you TJ. Fortunately, Barry is willing to use his time and energy to film, edit and then post these informative and useful DIY tutorials. He concisely explains the process as he works, appeasing the "novice" DIYers, while hoping the experts with the double masters in mechanical and electrical engineering, such as yourself, can stifle your justified annoyance. Thank you Barry and please keep the videos coming, 99.99% of "grown men" appreciate what you do.
