  • WANT SPEED? Barry shows you how to replace your stock Club Car Precedent golf cart controller with an Alltrax high amp controller. This upgrade will allow your golf cart to perform at speeds over 20 MPH with a required motor upgrade. This is not an easy task and requires a skilled mechanic for proper installation. We also have a video showing you how to replace your motor, solenoid, and cables which are a must when sending this much power. As always, please use your golf cart safely and be sure to wear proper hand and eye protection when installing. Mount the solenoid horizontally. Why? Because hitting a bump can cause the solenoid to open the high Amp power connection to the motor which you don’t want to happen. That doesn’t happen if the axis of the solenoid is horizontal. And, the diode across the solenoid coil prevents a back flow of high voltage which will damage the system. Last pointer; when you tighten the nuts and cap screws on the large connection lugs use two wrenches. These connections have to be tight. Using only one wrench puts enough stress on the lugs to damage them.

A solenoid is electrically activated and doesn't care what direction it is mounted. I have mounted them in multiple applications and have never had a failure. Two wrenches? That's a personal preference.
