    WELCOME BACK KEVIN!!! Got to admit I was worried about what was going on after you stopped making content. Great to hear your doing well and back at it.

      Thanks!! It was rough goin for a while. Last year was very slow and short. There wasn't a lot of carts to work on so I had a hard time making videos. This year has started normally and is very strong, so far.

    Thanks Bro, my cart wouldn’t move, yours was the 2nd video i watched, per your advice checked the cables. One large neg cable broke when checking with pretty much no pressure corrosion rotted, same with a smaller cable, put on two new connectors and good as new, thanks again!!

    I can't tell whether those batteries are still connected together. If they are, then your readings are totally wrong.

    You discourage using two 8 volt Batts to install a 12v accessory. Assuming it's a 48v cart would it be acceptable to use three 8v Batts to make a 24v system for accessories? Then if necessary use a resistor to bring it further down to a 12 v circuit? Or just start out with a 24v to 12 v resistor.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  9 месяцев назад

      Use a voltage reducer that can handle up to 60 volts. Don't use a resistor. The reason for using the entire pack is for even pack draw. Discharging the pack unevenly can cause issues over time.

      You can't make people spend money. You can only offer them options and see what they want to do.

    I second your opinion on battery fill systems. Did you know if one battery blows up when a fill system connected they all blow up? Fill systems act like fuses connecting the bombs

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  3 года назад

      That's a good point. I had a customer with that exact situation. Their cart caught fire while charging and the whole pack went boom. Needless to say, I couldn't repair it, lol. No one was hurt, no structures were damaged.

    New to Colf karting. So, what do I purchase to run some 12v load from 48 volts? You said what not to do, but what do I do?

  • @jodyyarbro2768
    @jodyyarbro2768 2 года назад

    Have you ever had any dealings with a zonE 48 volt electric? I have a chance of getting one that has all new batteries but won’t come on. Turn key I’m getting no volt readings or anything. All the cables are good and clean and tight

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  2 года назад

      I don't deal with the cheap Chinese carts. I had a demo cart here from Evolution and it was a huge POS.

    Great channel. Is there a main fuse somewhere on these. I have one like this one and now it won’t charge. I’ve tried multiple chargers. They won’t do anything and there’s nothing but stock wiring. Just went from working to not working. Thanks.

    • @Kevinsgolfcarts
      @Kevinsgolfcarts  2 года назад +3

      There is a fuse on the gray wire (if I recall correctly). Depending on the year, you have to search out the gray wire coming from the charge receptacle. I would check the battery pack voltage and make sure its above 42 volts. If its lower, factory chargers will not come on. If its above 42 volts, the on-board computer may have failed. The OBC controls the charger on Club Cars. I think its a crap system but, its what they use. If the OBC is dead, you can bypass it and get an aftermarket charger that will do a much better job at charging.

    Used to have a set of ramps like yours, they were from the 70's. Never seen a hydrometer like that. Can you give some info?
