    Hey Brian- I have a 1995 Club Car DS 48 volt golf cart. I have had problems with it running on a consistent basis. I finally changed the batteries, but Im still having issues when I depress the accelerator pedal,, it just clicks... sometimes it will go, and sometimes it refuses to go, although it gives me the same ole clicking sound. I have taken off the shell of the cart to be able to get to all th mechanics underneath, but Im not experienced in identifying which piece(s) i need to replace.. Can you help me?

    I’ve learned more on this older video than these newer videos. Why can’t people just slow down, step by step having the camera in Birds Eye view, and not rush like this video???? Thumbs up Brian.

    I have a 2008 electric precedent. The battery light on the dash is coming on for 10 seconds and than going off for 20 seconds after being charge. If I drive the cart the light is off when driving and comes on when cart is not moving.

    hello brian, i have a Golf Buggy 48 volts. the problem is when i depress the accelerator it wont run, by pushing the golf cart while depressing the accelerator of the golf cart it suddenly jumps and running but not okay because when it runs it surges like On/Off On/Off On/Off. then when i release the pedal until the golf cart fully stop, then depress the pedal again it wont run. by pushing the cart it will run like surging On/Off abd not smooth. battery voltage are 48volts, i changed the potentiometer but no luck. the controller color is Black aluminum cover. fuse is ok, im thinking that my motor is gone. pls help

    my club car is 48v and has a round plug for charging, but does not have spade clips on the controller. It is aluminum but has a plug in adapter for most wiring. I tried bypassing the computer and jumping the solenoid but it's not the same. No small yellow wire on the low amp side of the solenoid. And no spade clips on the controller box.
    It's an older Club Car but any tips or ideas for the year and model we have so I can try to figure out why it's not running? Thanks !

  • @bschreyer1

    Sounds like battery chatter, since your pack is wired in series, your pack is only as good as the worst battery. Use a regular load tester to find the bad battery and replace with a battery of similar age.

    • @srogers42
      @srogers42 8 лет назад +1

      Brian, I was mistaken. It actually does not click until I try pressing the pedal a few times. Once it clicks, runs like a champ. The batteries are all the same age (less than two years) 2005 DS by the way

    • @bschreyer1
      @bschreyer1  8 лет назад

      sorry for the late reply, sometimes the computers go to sleep, usually a double or triple pump of the accelerator will wake it up..

    • @srogers42
      @srogers42 8 лет назад

      That makes sense and that usually gets me going, but sometimes I momentarily loose power when I am already moving too.

    • @bschreyer1
      @bschreyer1  8 лет назад

      YOu may want to load test your batteries, you can do this with a standard automotive type load tester. Leave all your batteries hooked up and load test to find the weak batttery.
      Beacuse you batteiy pack is wired in series your pack is only as good as the weakest battery. If you loose power while driving it may be a weak battery. If you loose powere intermetently check your cables nuts. Use a 9/16 or 1/2 inch wrench and tighten each nut - that may be your problem. You should be checking the cable nuts monthly when you do your water check. as they will work loose. BTW - loose cable nuts create an air gap, the air gap creates resitence, resistance creates heat, heat will melt your post and weld your cable to the threaded post as well. so check those cable nuts monthly,
      If you are in rehe mesa area we have load testers available for free for your use, a small deposit is all that is required.

    When you made the test bypassing the controller, you must have had the rear wheels off the surface, as how could you engage the forward or reverse and have the system drive. Good detail, yet poor graphic as I cannot see the connections to learn the test points.

    So wait - if everything works but the car runs or not intermittently - is it the motor. Solenoid clicks cart surges but may or may not run. Keep putting the pedal down and it will eventually run.

      David Hensley Need more information, what do you mean when you say "hook back up the cart will works as normal" Is it the guage that resets and the cart only clicks when the accelerator is pushed. When was the last time the cart accepted a charge how long has it been since the cart was fully charged _the charger shut off- and worked as normal. Please advise
      Brian

      The batteries are new,I have checked voltage of batteries and it says 47 volts.We have tried a new battery charger and it does the same thing.If I unhook positive for about 5 minutes then hook positive back up the cart works like it should.Then I plug charger in to charge,the charger doesn't come on.Unplug charger and cart only clicks when you push the pedal.The batteries are now down to 38 volts.I have ordered a new computer hopeing this resolves my problem.

    I am hoping you can help me out and answer a question for me. My 2001 club car ds 48 volt golf cart is quickly losing power going up hills. The batteries are only a year old and charge to 51 volts and discharge to 47.8 going up the hills so I don't think it's a battery issue. All battery cables are new. Could you recommend what the problem might be? Maybe the controller or something? It runs absolutely fine on flat surfaces, just struggling up hills. Thanks

    Brian - great video. My Club Car DS runs BUT after awhile loses power. I wait a few seconds, toggle the F/R switch and am able to get going again. I don't know if the controller is overheating(?) or maybe a solenoid is weakening. Any immediate suggestions?

    I have a club cart that I changed the batteries out an after installing the golf cart takes off fast when you mash the accelerator but breaks it's speed immediately to like half throttle what causes this problem

    The video was really helping me diagnose my '99 club car until it switch to a totally different Yamaha cart diagnostics. I wonder if that was intended? I did jumper the low amperage lines to the solenoid as part of the troubleshooting but my cart did not run. It basically barely starts to move and then just goes dead. Anybody have an idea of what to test or what part might be bad? thx.
