    Good build, great job.
    I've heard that ACs that go under the van have more disadvantages. Like the AC that goes on top is easier to install, but it has more disadvantages (including occupying the space on top that could have been used for solar panels or other things).
    Seven o savage described the advantages of having an AC that installs under the van, in case you're curious.

    If you'd used recirculating shower system, it'd nearly be the perfect van. Tech and practical aspects are amazing

    • @JakeandHeather
      @JakeandHeather  3 года назад

      Thank you! We agree, a recirculating shower would be amazing. Just ran outta time during the build, and didn’t know enough about them. The idea sounds kinda gross but I’ve heard great things!

    • @gadagkarus
      @gadagkarus 3 года назад +2

      @@JakeandHeather yeah. I think, the pros far outweigh the grossy cons. I mean the water is already pretty hot and with the UV filter, I think most bacteria/viruses have no chance of surviving. Anyway, I'm more interested in the AC. How often dyu use it? How reliant is that on the generator?

    • @JakeandHeather
      @JakeandHeather  3 года назад +2

      @@gadagkarus we can use it for a few nights before needing to pull out the generator. But during the summer when it was hot all day need to run generator to keep AC going

    • @gadagkarus
      @gadagkarus 3 года назад +1

      @@JakeandHeather I'm from India. It's tropical and very hot. So AC is central to my build. I'm researching a few methods now. Did you look into 12v options? The cruise n comfort model and the likes?

    Hey there - just saw your van comparison with Mariajose and Chase - great video. In that you mentioned something about your 800 ah of lithium being not so expensive because you did not buy brand name. Care to share what you bought? I'm currently looking to replace my aging Gel battery with lithium, so the timing is great. Thanks

      Yeah, we went direct to the source. Got pretty deep in the forums, but basically found the supplier on aliexpress who was believed to at some point or another to send components to battle born. Anyways, seller is Beijing XD Battery Technology Co. We had them custom built for us and they have been perfect!

    Very well explained. Thank you for the info. You got lot of weight in the van. What advise do you have about installing a lift kit & is it important ? I got 2020 sprinter 2500 170 wb 4x4

    • @JakeandHeather
      @JakeandHeather  3 года назад +1

      Weight is something to always keep in mind, especially in the 2500. We installed aftermarket front and rear shocks, rated for RVs. Don’t forget they build sprinter RVs on these same 3500 chassis. I’m not very familiar with the 2020 models, but I know al previous models benefited greatly from aftermarket suspension. Sometimes you only need sumosprings from super springs to see a large improvement! www.supersprings.com

      We looked for a while for a “good deal” on a used van. It came with its consequences. Ended up needing to replace the engine (as well as every other major mechanical part) but we did score the Mega Roof. Are you in the beginning stages of looking for a van?

  • @zayvier69

    We have RO system dedicated for my saltwater aquarium here at my house. From 4 gallons of water you get 1 gallon of RO water to use. So essentially 3 gallons wasted. We run the RO “waste water line” through a 2nd RO
    What do you do with your waste water?

    • @JakeandHeather
      @JakeandHeather  3 года назад +1

      Great point! We run the “waste” line back into the tank, which then gets used for dishes and showers. I assume some goes back through the RO system at some point, but the system is pulling from the bottom of the tank as the “waste” line gets dumped into the top of tank.
