Our equipment manager in high school football in the late 90's used to blast that song (Back in the Saddle) in the locker room before every game, followed by Johnny Cash. Weirdest pregame playlist ever. We went undefeated 2yrs in a row. Thanks for the blast from the past!

One of the main reasons why I believe having a decent size yacht is better, is that you can dock in most Marinas. The larger size yacht’s, facility permitting may have that opportunity but in most occasions, you’re at anchor.

Good stuff Skipper. Interesting you should note that the season in Ischia is slow. I run a small restaurant in France after many years on superyachts and its the same here. 2024 is not busy , yet!! Should be busy June (no) July to October, we shall see but not much yet and like the ports on capri, Ischia etc they have a shorter and shorter window to make enough to see them through a very long low season.

About the hydraulic system, I am definetly not an expert by any means, but I think that you need a load sensing system which contains a variable displacement pump. That kind of systems have been used for like ages in at least in forestry machines here in Finland 🙂
And propably in any heavy equipment aroud the world too 🤫

Love the video as usual. Just with the aluminium tender, is it possible to add a port/hatch in the top. Instead of partially remove the top, taking up more space and opening potential risk to other vessels, the four support lines can be manually attached to the tender going through spaces in the roof structure. Nothing changes structurally just allowing the crane to go directly down through the roof.
Also curious for function of the overhead 'latch' (seen at 6:01, white bar black handle just left of your head), I assume it opens a hatch but not sure of use cases.
