The Hall effect is an effect that occurs because of the Lorentz force. Essentially, if a charged particle moves with vertical component through a magnetic field, then the Lorentz force deflects the electrons to the left. This causes electrons going through a metal collect on one side, which creates a voltage called the Hall voltage. This voltage can be measured. As for how this is used in the controller, I’d assume, that the stick is attached to a magnet, or a sensor, and moving the stick changes the magnitude of the Hall effect, which can be detected by measuring the Hall current.

One thing I noticed which I really don't like, is when you have it set on Trigger Lock mode, and bring make the trigger pull pretty short - 10-30 range on the slider - it takes a significant pressing force to trigger a shot. It should trigger sooner. It's a bit of a bummer, and it makes it REALLY difficult to shoot a single fire pistol quickly. Makes playing COD kinda difficult. **** take this feedback with a grain of salt, as I've only been using the controller for about 2 hours.
I grew up on Xbox as well. I still play games on Xbox occasionally but mainly on PC now and I've been wary of third party controllers because the "feel" is always off to me. But I'm tired of throwing money away on Elite Series 2 controllers... Horrible stick drift out of the box and every single one I've owned has had one of the bumpers or triggers go bad (I'm on my fourth, plus two swap outs under warranty, so six). I have a question, I see in all the reviews the input latency being praised of this controller, but on the gamepadle website, the cable latency for the flydigi apex4 appears to be twice as high as the dual sense. Is this correct? What are your thoughts on that? Because when I see youtubers testing with xinput, the flydigi apex4 scores better every time?
Random thought… what’s the difference between fast hands and quick bolt?! Trying to see which is better to use and if using both will change reload time?! Thanks
@TrueGameData I was looking at off meta guns to mess with and came across the TR76 Geist, but with the single tap mod for mag. TGD site says that its only 2 damage difference to the damage profile. Is this true or is this something that was missed? I know that the single tap mod got a buff a few patches ago but not seeing that on the website. In game the damage profile changes 125% again according to COD details page. Am i missing something or is yours correct?
Man I'm really bummed about the back button placement, why they wouldn't be set up to have 4 fingers on 4 buttons I don't understand. Probably going to prevent me from buying.
I daily drive the Vader 3 Pro (also from FLYDIGI), and it’s a great option in the $50 to $100 range. It’s missing some of the customization features of the Apex, but the performance is top notch.

Just got mine in today. It's pretty nice. Coming from a powerA Fusion Pro. It feels pretty good.. still getting used to it.
I have this controller and I'm having this same issue I can't win any drops if I don't find an AR
Do the triggers have haptic feedback/vibrations?
Scuf really dropped the ball with the envision not being hall effect. My guess is the next gen will have hall effect sticks, tho.
WTF were they thinking?

I grew up on Xbox as well. I still play games on Xbox occasionally but mainly on PC now and I've been wary of third party controllers because the "feel" is always off to me. But I'm tired of throwing money away on Elite Series 2 controllers... Horrible stick drift out of the box and every single one I've owned has had one of the bumpers or triggers go bad (I'm on my fourth, plus two swap outs under warranty, so six). I appreciate your review! Hearing that it feels like an Xbox controller from an Xbox guy, plus the features and the price. I'm sold. Ordered.
Ive been having issues with my Razer Wolverine V2 in the past two weeks and you release this video… yes it’s already purchased from aliexpress. 118$CAD is much cheaper than any other ‘premium’ controllers out there in Canada
Loved the controller up until last night when the Left Stick broke, I had it set to medium tension. I am getting it replaced via Amazon but sure Hope it lasts longer than 2 months this time. I will try setting the Tension down to low to see if it lasts longer. Happy Gaming Everyone!
How did you get the control freaks on there , I bought the ps ones but it still didn’t work
How are the stick clicks (R3/L3)? Art said they feel really good, you think they can handle a lot of use like if I’m not running auto sprint?
wait does overclocking through something like mice's hidusbf not work on the xbox controllers?
I have a question, I see in all the reviews the input latency being praised of this controller, but on the gamepadle website, the cable latency for the flydigi apex4 appears to be twice as high as the dual sense. Is this correct? What are your thoughts on that? Because when I see youtubers testing with xinput, the flydigi apex4 scores better every time?
Any idea what the polling rate/input delay is on the Astro c40? Cant seem to find the information anywhere
Do you also know what the PS4 controllers polling rate is?
what kontrolfreaks fit with this controller?
Have you tried the Nacon Revolution Pro that is pc and ps4/5 and uses hall effect? Surprised to not see that included in your analysis.
I picked this up as soon as I saw art is war video on it glad I got it after cus videos on this controller are popping g up left and right now
Random thought… what’s the difference between fast hands and quick bolt?! Trying to see which is better to use and if using both will change reload time?!
Thanks
Better buy than the Elite core 2?
Your left thumb stick broke yet?
What’s the polling rate and latency on a scuf reflex ?
Ok so now what’s a PS5 DualSense Edge style equivalent?
Why didn't u mention the adjustable thumbs on elite 2 ?
The wireless dongle has the same performance as wired ?
Only wired ?
Have they updated there stick design yet like the vader 4 ? Many people have had there sticks die as early as doa or days in
Does this controller have rumble? What about battery life?
how do u get the 15% off amazon??
@TrueGameData just bought mine what’s your recommendation for the kontrol freek and tension setting for warzone?
Been playing with mine for 3 days and its the bomb ....... Best controller I have ever used
Can you share your configuration for cod with this controller? Struggling how do I open the tec-map
I daily drive the Vader 3 Pro (also from FLYDIGI), and it’s a great option in the $50 to $100 range. It’s missing some of the customization features of the Apex, but the performance is top notch.
