The Hall effect is an effect that occurs because of the Lorentz force. Essentially, if a charged particle moves with vertical component through a magnetic field, then the Lorentz force deflects the electrons to the left. This causes electrons going through a metal collect on one side, which creates a voltage called the Hall voltage. This voltage can be measured. As for how this is used in the controller, I’d assume, that the stick is attached to a magnet, or a sensor, and moving the stick changes the magnitude of the Hall effect, which can be detected by measuring the Hall current.

@@SixpennyHail474 it doesnt have any defects or issues that other controllers wont have. just about every company uses generic shitty 100000 click micro switches for bumpers, and all companies (besides this one) use carbon potentiometers. guess what? you can literally install ps4 microswitches or sticks into an xbox controller, and its the same part.

I upgraded to this controller from the Gamesir T4 Kaleid, and it’s awesome. On top of the fast performance, the thumb sticks are easily the smoothest I’ve ever tried. Not enough controller brands are innovating in their thumb sticks, and I’m super impressed with Flydigi’s.
@TrueGameData I was looking at off meta guns to mess with and came across the TR76 Geist, but with the single tap mod for mag. TGD site says that its only 2 damage difference to the damage profile. Is this true or is this something that was missed? I know that the single tap mod got a buff a few patches ago but not seeing that on the website. In game the damage profile changes 125% again according to COD details page. Am i missing something or is yours correct?
So i got this based on your videos....what's your opinion on the trigger locks? do you have it set to normal or one of the other ones?

i just ordered the apex 4 from banggood. Coming from a ES2 and im excited. A good thing about the hall effect triggers is it will teach you to relax your grip, allowing for finer aim control.

I have used a couple of other controllers with mouse switches and I ran into problems where the button press were not registering at all. Have you experienced anything like that with this controller?
Razed onza stick tension adjustment has been my most favorite feature of any controller I’ve had. So glad that’s back here
How are the stick clicks (R3/L3)? Art said they feel really good, you think they can handle a lot of use like if I’m not running auto sprint?

Awesome video! Not sure how deep into controllers you currently are, but after reading and researching everything I could I got a GameSir T4 Kaleid controller. Hall effect, paddle buttons, mechanical buttons, all for about $40CAD. I've had nothing but good experiences with it. A bit of a hidden gem. Only downside is that it is wired, but playing on PC this hasnt been an issue for me.

t4 kalied is a great controller, been using mine for almost a years and no issues, i primarily play cod,warzone and FPS games. liked so much i bought another one, don't sleep on it

Tony how long have you been using this new controller? I know hypothetically, sticks using the Hall effect should have no stick drift, but have you been using this controller for a while to give it some wear and tear or is it fairly new?

Have you done any testing on full system latency of controllers compared to Mice?
My expectation would be that the results should be within 1ms. However when I do a similar test to you and record my screen at 240fps I get drastically slower system latency on controller vs mouse. I measure controller to be around 40ms on my system (10 frames), but my mouse has a latency of 20ms (5 frames).
Any idea why/how the mouse could be 20ms faster than controller? This difference seems significant.
(I've done most of my testing with my Envision Pro)

My favourite controller setup is the ps5 eXtremeRate rise4 back button kit 50$ CDN. With the clicky hair trigger kit 20$ and clicky faceplate kit 20$. Gotta install it yourself but it’s easy and fun

I have a question, I see in all the reviews the input latency being praised of this controller, but on the gamepadle website, the cable latency for the flydigi apex4 appears to be twice as high as the dual sense. Is this correct? What are your thoughts on that? Because when I see youtubers testing with xinput, the flydigi apex4 scores better every time?
I have got the Vader 3 pro to give controllers a try but even aim assist cannot make up for my lack of controller skills. Wonder if the adjustable stick tension would be help full in controlling my aim better.
Definitely might check this out. I use a elite series 2 now. Been with the series controllers since they first dropped.
Have you tried the Nacon Revolution Pro that is pc and ps4/5 and uses hall effect? Surprised to not see that included in your analysis.
@TrueGameData is the software for changing deadzone/stick ramp for sensitivity better than the edge pro? I love the edge bc my aim is so sticky once i configured its software on the sticks
That paddle layout is why I can’t get away from the XB Elite 2. I just wish they were more durable and tested better

All of us in the fighting game community have been really nerdy and focused on this stuff for years, it makes such a difference.
That being said, I would love to see some FPS controllers that make use of the GP2040-CE firmwares that are currently becoming the new gold stabdard with fighting game controllers.

Good luck being able to detect a 4 Ms latency you're delusional. 0.004 sec is INSTANT. That part of the video was m*ronic and pointless

@@Pabloesc571 sure there's a certain point when it becomes perceivably instant.
But considering fighting games and certain speed running categories rely on 1-frame inputs for certain combos and sequences means that having an additional frame of input latency makes things harder. Some rhythm games require frame perfect judgments (some even sub frame) to score well at, to the point where it's been a QOL change to allow offset adjustments by .01ms increments to account for monitor delay and your own reaction/reading speed. And it super matters.

This is for PC only I assume? I’d like something for my Xbox been using elite 2 and I love it but damn bumpers stop working unless hard pressed and stick drift like every other controller.
Do they have a PS4 supported controller like this? I've gone through 3 controllers cause of stick drifts and buttons not registering anymore.
If you set the trigger stops how you have in the video. Is the input registered the exact moment the trigger begins being pulled? Or does it need to travel to bottom of the “stop” for action to register?
When you set it. It should register when it’s set. Although he said you can bypass it if you’re in an intense situation by default but it’s registered to set. Where you set it in the software.

Yup! Facts I have that same controller and it’s suuuch a great controller however you can push past the trigger stops so I carfull drilled in my own trigger stops and now it’s an absolute beast

Does this controller have rumble? What about battery life?
Can you use reWASD or something similiar to get keyboard functionality? I was. The one thing that is nice about the Envision Pro is that you can use the G keys to mute yourself in Discord, or run a keyboard shortcut for OBS. I tried testing reWASD with Vader 3 Pro on the extra face buttons. It worked but COD seemed to have trouble launching while the reWASD process was active on my computer. Not sure if they have it blocked now.

My scuf envision trigger just stopped firing mid-game and only fires when I remove the stop.

I would’ve loved to see the Gamesir G7 SE in this comparison. It is wired but it has 2 back buttons, Hall effect sticks and triggers, can be overclocked to 1000 and it’s only $45.

Love my Vader 3 Pro, which is basically the mid level version of this controller.
500Hz polling, switches between regular and mouse click triggers, and 4 back buttons.
My hands were made for the Xbox layout and no matter how much I use it, the PS layout is just not for me.
What controller should I use for the Xbox?
Worth picking this up if I'm used to PS controllers? Just have a default PS5 dualsense playing on bumper jumper tactical only thing holding me back from buying this is the layout
I returned mine cause I’m use to ps layout and right hand claw, the sticks is what’s tempting me to give it a 2nd try no overclock needed your aim feels like ur aiming with a mouse. Even browsing cod menu you can feel how much faster it is.

I have the FlyDiGi Vader 3 pro and it has been really solid for the $80 I paid and I highly recommend it if on a budget. This seems to be a upgrade in most areas. Just a FYI, Brook makes an adapter called a "wingman" to make it so it can be used on PS4/5 or Xbox (need the one specific to the console). The adapter is like $45 for playstation and $50 for xbox.

The Apex 4 supports x-Input. Which the wingman uses as well. It will work. Any controller that supports x-input will work with the Brookwingman adapter.

The beauty of hall effect is that while you can set it to trigger instantly, even if you keep pulling back, you can also set it to instantly ‘de-trigger’ and re-trigger from any position
The trigger "stops" that can be set in software are due to the triggers having their own feedback mechanisms similar to the Dualsense's adaptive triggers. Pulling through the soft stop means you're overcoming the feedback motor's resistance.
How longs battery last?
Wish I could share pictures of what I did with my fly digi 4 to make my own trigger stops, worked sooo damn well. I kept pushing through and couldn’t stop 😂 it’s absolutely amazing 10/10 would recommend it

@@dazwgoaliedaz5333as someone who has 4 its pretty rare that i play a game where i feel i need to use all 4, the only game like that is siege tbh, because i use two paddles for leaning, one for vaulting, and one for reloading, in cod, ow, xdefiant, apex i generally only use the outer two tbh
The series 2 joysticks can be adjusted by using the key it comes with as well unless you mean it’s a better joystick adjustment.
ill stick to my scuf relflex for now. def something to consider in the future

Just ordered an Aim controller with haul effect thumb sticks, it’s my second controller from them, also very good
i bought one and currently returning it due to Left stick click getting stuck and the hitting up on the dpad now inputs right click idk how......the L3 problem was not anything crazy but the dpad problem renders it a paperweight
I managed to break mine without a week if they add hair triggers it would be perfect. I am currently running an flydigi vader 3 pro and overal its a better controller except ror the adjustable thumbstick tension and polling rate (500 vs 1000)
