    I liked my ender 3 v2 but all the bed leveling and work involved fiddling really killed it's usefulness for me.
    This looks like it has potential and it's definitely time to upgrade.

      I just bought this model about a week ago. It's my first 3D printer and I'm blown away with how amazing this thing is... I can't stop using it and wanting to learn more about 3D printing now. I think this is quite revolutionary. I can literally just print whatever tools or accessories I need for around the house. And then I can also print things for the hobbies I'm into as well, like "airsoft" guns and such.. ;)

      I looked into it and after watching Bryan Vines video on installing it and all the headache that goes into it, I'll just go with a new printer. @@SirZechs77

      You will be shocked at the level of change Creality has done to make their V3 series significantly better. I am coming from an ender 3, which I modified to kingdom come, and decided to bite the bullet on the Ender 3 V3 KE. The difference is night and day. From the setup that took less than 30 minutes, to the first print of a 19 minute benchy. Everything is seamless. Kudos to Creality for such an impressive machine.
      You should also look at the KE version as it is much cheaper than this V3 version. It has almost all the same features save for the sleek new design.

    I like my Ender-3 V3, but it is a noisy beast at high speeds. I mounted the spool holder on top, using the two threaded holes provided. Doing that got the filament mostly away from the wires, although the path into the runout sensor isn't as direct as I'd like. FWIW it uses the same nozzles as the K1C, so if you need spares just look for those because if you search Amazon for Ender-3 V3 you'll get everything for the SE and the KE and nothing for the plain old V3.
    I'm not sure what problem the Core XZ system solves, but it prints well, and it's fast, and I didn't have to do any calibration to it before using it. It's nice to see manufacturers building printers that don't take all afternoon to set up.

    My first printer was the original Ender 3. I got a lot of enjoyment out of that printer. I bought an Ender 2 Pro to carry in my RV due to its small foot print. While the Creality stuff will always hold a place in my heart, I wanted to print more than just PLA and PETG. I went for the Qidi Q1 Pro enclosed printer based on your previous review and it is so new it is still in the box. I think this Ender 3 V3 will be a great printer for beginners.
    Thank you for the thorough reviews. I imagine at the end of the year you have thousands of benchies. Have you ever thought of what to do with them all?

    I love the V3... I've been using it as a daily driver for since I got it. I added some kapton tape to the top of the Z motor on the right side to prevent the filament from attempting to rip off the wires and that seems to solved any possible tangle issues. I was thinking of rotating that motor, but for now, the tape is working great. I also found a really great use for the Z speed... adding the 3DChameleon switch to the top... it moves up there very very fast to tap it... so color changes happen a lot faster than on the other ender 3 style machines. (I know... shameless self plug... but hey... it social, right?)

    • @BV3D
      @BV3D  4 месяца назад +1

      Hi Bill! Here's to that shameless plug! (3D Printing Friends, go check out www.3dchameleon.com/). That's actually one of the few things I can think of that a super fast Z axis would be good for. After I recorded the video I decided to use a printed spool holder, more toward the front of the printer, and that's also helping to keep the filament off the stepper motor wires. I guess a longer piece of PTFE tubing would also do the trick.

    Looks like the answer for everyone going from ender 3 v2, to the Bambu printers. I would’ve gotten this instead of my p1s back in December if I knew about it. The ender 3 v2 required too much maintenance and I easily spent more than I spent on the printer in repairs.

    For naming I think just "Ender 3 v3" is preferable compared to the ridiculous sub variant naming conventions (Pro, v2, S1, Neo, SE, KE, Plus, Max- which they already have a plus, SE and KE variant for the v3), but I think it would have been better to outright give this a new Ender entry, as structurally it is entirely different from the Ender 3 aside from the i3 configuration, using 8mm smooth rods now rather than V-channel extrusion and rollers.
    (Yes I know it'd have to be assigned a number higher than 7, since there have been an Ender 5, 6 and 7).

    While this Ender 3 V3 isn't anything new compared to the Bambu Lab A1, Creality does have the Ender 3 V3 Plus which is the same Core XZ. Now, that's a size and space that Bambu isn't in and Elegoo & Anycubic are in but still use POM wheels. I've love to see how the Plus compares to the other "Plus" sized printers.

    • @BV3D
      @BV3D  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes, you can slice files for it with other slicers. As a quick test, I sliced a Benchy for it with OrcaSlicer, using the Ender-3 V3 KE profile. It worked except that it didn't control the rear parts cooling fan. It only ran the front one. I suspect a Klipper macro to make the rear fan do what the front fan does would fix that. I don't know what CrealitySlicer is doing differently to control it.

    With the Bambu Lab A1 back on the market, it's hard for me to recommend this Ender 3 V3 to others unless it's just really cheap on sale. The only thing the V3 would have to stand on vs the A1 is firmware. But even that at the moment is closed source on the V3 right now. Thanks for sharing!

    I am still not convinced that CoreXZ solves any problems beyond making a standard Ender 3 suck less? And why on earth does Creality keep reusing the Ender 3 name???

    • @BV3D
      @BV3D  4 месяца назад

      I don't know what CoreXZ is solving for on the Ender-3. I guess it gets the mass of the X stepper motor off the X axis, but in a traditional i3, the mass is stationary on that axis. The Z axis has to lift it. And Z doesn't typically move fast in FDM printing. It doesn't need to. As for the naming -- I have no idea. There have been SO MANY Ender-3 models over the years.

      Doubt it, gantry looks much heavier on the k2. Multicolor and open source will be its selling point. Having own the k1, and not living up to the hype, I not interested in creality anymore. All they do is keep releasing crap every free months. Same with other 3d printer manufacturers. I'm so tired of it and will just get a bambulab. The ender3 just seems to be getting worst and worst.
