The under extrusion on the cheater test print reminds me of VWs diesel-gate situation.
Thanks for validating.
Oops, haha look how well it performed on this test! Lol? We didn’t do it on purpose, pinky swear
thanks Nathan, very honest review
Very nice review! thanks.
Nice review
Great video! Looking forward to the Mmu3 video. Someone really needs to make a better solution to hold all the filament spools though.
Very thorough video mate. 👍🇦🇺😊
That thing must be huge to get your head through it. Lol
I bought the K1C .. so I'm good for awhile BUT might also get the MAX next ..lol
Looks like what the S1 Plus should have been.
Looking forward the one and only printer from Nathan in a few years!
You mean the NBR Quadrupolar Express Pro V1 Basic SE Chunky It Just Works MAX?
An idea to solve the screen is maybe print a bracket to move the screen to the side of the bed with an ribbon cable extension.
FYI I just recently got a standard size ender 3 v3, and the top holes for the spool holder are missing on this rev. Spool clamp thing is injection moulded now too.
Interesting. It looks like they stopped drilling that out to save cost. It sort of makes sense as it would require an additional setup in a CNC machine to perform that operation, and isn't exactly a feature that people are looking for when cross-shopping.
But on the Plus, since it has the braces to make the vertical frame super stiff, it totally makes sense to put the spool holder up there. Hopefully they come around to the idea.
Very disappointed that no fan was thrown over the balcony and replaced by a 4x larger Noctua inserted by force through a nibbler-hacked hole...
But, to be fair, within a few minutes we saw drilling into the chassis to relocate the spool 😅
So there's that !
Have it next to the A1 and P1P. Needed it for the size but straight lined walls are cleaner on the A1 and P1P. Probably because of the wobbly head of the V3 plus. Any change we can change the rods for carbon to make it stiffer like on the P1P?
If creality makes the bed lighter it may lead to warping issues or it would be a very expensive BED slinger.
Why don’t they just make it out of carbon fiber 🥸
209 hours on it and other than the noisy stepper driver at slower speeds it has been great.
The Neptune 4 Max has no problem with a speed benchy but does it at 20 minutes (you really need to check layer height and number of walls for a proper comparison). the acceleration is only 8000 but this will print more than twice the speed of the CR M4.
The flow is proportional to the print plastic, it is tunable for each spool and for each type / brand. I am not sure it is a function of the machine ?
Hey man, does the quality get better if you turn down the speed to a normal speed? Or should i put more money into it and buy the k2 plus?
i skip V3 and V3 plus, gonna go for K2 max
My understanding is the filament run out sensor only detects a change in state so you might not need filament in there at all and or be able to leave it disconnected. I'd love to know the answer for sure. Also, I'm excited about this printer and I want to buy it but I think I should wait maybe 6 months for software and publicly available profiles and tweaks to catch up.
It’s a limit switch just like any other it can tell if it’s on or off.
But if they implemented firmware to only care about state changes, that would be neat
How does this compare to the Ender 3 V3 SE?
You kept talking about the size of bed slingers, but I did not hear the size of prints this printer makes. I may have missed it, if so, sorry. Ok. i saw it at 5:20. Great video btw.
Does it make any difference where you buy? Third party or direct? I saw these on Ceality's website for between 500-600 dollars.
2:36 "He didn't write his name on here, that seems like a missed opportunity" - At the same time, there's a huge raised pod in the middle of the print that says "3D PRINTER TEST by Marian Trpkos". - Am I missing an inside joke here?
Perhaps the joke was that the name is very hard to see unless you enlarge the print that much? I'm just guessing though.
What's the filament you used for Benchy? It's sliced for HyperPLA!
I used blue hyper PLA and white hyper PLA
I can't find the slicer at all online, the 5.3 on github doesn't have the profile for V3 plus, do you have any link or file in your usb?
I made a custom profile. It’s the k1 max profile but slower.
Hit me up on discord if you want me to send it to you
they could solve the bed blade issues by putting a long metal tab on the left of the bed. most users are right handed and the screen is on the right side of the printer
I like that idea. But still, the screen is in a bad spot since the bed moves directly over it
About that plate hitting your hand... why not using it via wi-fi. Only thing I use the display for is to retract filament when I'm changing spools...
I don't like messing around with wi-fi. But the wifi integration on all the latest creality products is very good
How do we mod existing printers with K1C E3V3 series Unicorn nozzle. I would like to thinker with that. I replaced the hotend on my CR-10 SE before but was thinking if i upgrade it unicorn nozzle now there is no blob of death problem anymore
You would need a new hotend and heatsink. No idea if creality plans on making an upgrade kit for the older Ender
As of this date, Microcenter is running a massive discount on the regular Ender3 v3 .. I got mine for 279...so I guess this plus verssion is the reason why. I mainly got it because they are klipper based machines, I assume I'll eventually be able to take full control of it software wise...and it's kind of a bargain for the all the included parts.
How wide is it with the filament on
Ordered one but not wanting to relocate the spool so hoping it’ll fit in my space please let me know thanx
If the printer profile isn’t in the slicer, did you just edit the bed size in the slicer? Purchased this printer end of week last week and expecting it to arrive end of the week
I made a custom profile based on the K1 which is the same size. It’s annoying that they don’t have everything figured out for their customers from day 1
@@NathanBuildsRobots can you share your profile settings?
does anyone know if a even larger version of the Ender 3 V3 is planned by creality? I mean something like 420mm x 420mm which what seems to be a common print bed size as other manufacturers show?
They have the CR-M4 which is 450x450. I made some great prints with it before giving it to someone.
I doubt they'd make an Ender product like that, but maybe I'm wrong.
@@NathanBuildsRobots yes I know this Printer. But it is quite expensive in comparison.
Thanks for the reply.
I sell 3D printers and the Max models(Kobra 2 Max, Neptune 4 Max) are more popular than mid-size. So unless they update the Cr6 Max then really need to upsize this.
They seem to be stuck in the era of 3D printers being for tinkerers who enjoy tuning flow rates and tightening all the screws. Times have changed thanks to Bambu, and it needs to be assembled and tuned properly out of the box from day 1.
No necessarily, this was faster to assemble than the A1, and the setup and calibration is fully automated.
The cable management and filament pathing works fine, but it is sort of lazy IMO
@@NathanBuildsRobots Fair enough, but I'd argue that automated setup and calibration should deliver you a good print without intervention, not an under-extruded one, or on my Creality a z offset that is way too high for decent adhesion. These are simple, fundamental things that should be fixed in alpha versions, not shipped ones.
I have to ask if I heard you correctly, you use the 4 kg bin as a bed pan or does that mean something different in the USA ?
Idk I keep my 3D printer beds in there
@@NathanBuildsRobots That is a relief to hear, almost as much relief as using a real bed pan.
What is your opinion compared to the Bambu Lab a1 vs the Creality Ender 3 V3 Plus?
The Bambu A-what? Never heard of it...
But serious answer - A1 is tuned better out of the box, and a bit quieter, but 1 size class smaller, and has AMS lite option if you wanted to do multicolor.
K1 is bigger (the bump from 256 to 300 is more significant than it sounds) and probably has higher max flow rate, (though I didn't test that in this video)
@@NathanBuildsRobots
Replacing the bed carriage and heat bed with a carbon fiber plate would speed it up a good amount
Yeah it would be a speed demon with a carbon bed mod
@NathanBuildsRobots I'm doing it on my max neo and I doubt it would be more than 150-175 for both the bed carriage, bed and a bed heater the lh stinger has a custom flex pcb heater that if scaled up would be better than a silicone heater
Writing it on the print wasn't missed: 3D PRINTER TEST by Marián Trpkoš is what I can see at 2:43
Oh, there it is. I was looking at the front face that says 3D PRINTING TEST
Any reason why I'd buy it instead of SV08?
TBH That is a really tough call. The Sv08 is a stellar deal right now, and is bigger.
I will say, the Ender 3 V3 Plus has a much better user interface when its not tethered to a computer.
Setting up Wi-Fi, browsing print jobs, loading up prints from a flash drive, etc. is all easier in this machine.
Plus this looks better than the milk crate.
But purely in a spec-war, and a modders perspective, I’d probably pick the SV-08
@@NathanBuildsRobots I appreciate your honesty. Thanks :)
would love to try out creality prints 5 but no support for cr-10 smart pro or my little ender 3 v2
Creality has said over next 2 to 3 weeks they will have their older line up in 5.0.4 release (current version is 5.0.3)
You seem more mellow.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Have Creality claimed to have written this new version of Creality print from scratch like they claimed they wrote the first version, but was yet another fork of Cura?
The Benchy gets its name from being a benchmark of QUALITY print.
I don't see the point of the speed Benchy as you can't really determine the quality.
Surely people should be trying to print the perfect Benchy as fast as possible
I would tend to agree but companies like marketing by numbers. And I blame 24/7 printing for this 🤪
I have this printer and my god it is LOUD. The squeaking at slow speeds is headache inducing.
"#CrealityK2Plus"
You ruined the print quality by moving a 1kg spool on top
This massively increases vibrations of the frame
It’s not as big of a deal, print quality was good
My only comment is that it's a bit ratterly, compared to the k1c
It may just be on my end but your share sale link didn’t work
Yep, the whole site is broken right now. Yet another reason why aff links are the worst form of monetization.
Just went back up! 🪤
Doing a review of a new printer and you already had to make mods to it, hmm
Yeah, it’s probably fine in the stock setup but I like it a lot more this way.
You must be new here.
@@TNX255 im not 😅 but it would make sense to test it how he received no?
@@nunovicente34 On any other channel, yeah, but this is NBR, where things are done the NBR way!
4kg trashcan. Or $100 trashcan. But cool.
You’re overpaying for filament
@@NathanBuildsRobots Well, I just took a number in the air more or less.
First comment is the best comment 🎉

Too much drama. If you get bopped on the head it is not the machine's fault.
