I really like the effort you put into your reviews. Thank you . They are so helpful and informative.
For the functionality they give you, I find the RP line very straight-forward. Plus, you have levels of operation. From presets through pedalboard mode and tone library to tweaking everything. So it can be as simple or as complex to use as you need. Pedalboard mode really is just like using a pedalboard if your pedalboard could have presets. And tweaking everything is very similar to tweaking all the knobs on a bunch of pedals.
I have one of these. It sounds great. I can get any sound I want out of it. This is the only pedal I use live now. I run it through my peavey valve king 100 effect loop and I can make the valve king amp sound like a marshall stack, mesa boogie, fender twin, etc. It is also very easy to use.
Line 6 X3 is amazing. The tone you can pump out is so genuine.

Hey Man I have had mine for 2 years Now and It's Awesome in So many ways,It doesnt matter what Kind of amp you have you can literally get the sounds of some many different Amps you will see if you purchase it.Man I Lovew mine.Also LOVE THE LOOPER 20 seconds.. Yeah.Their is much to do on this thing,I'm still learning stuff after 2 years.. You will rEall like it if you haven't already got one by NOW!
For as many overdrives as this had, when he went cycling through them, not one of them sounded much different than the overdrive before it.

Still have mine after a bunch of years. With some patience you can get some great tones. Is it a Helix....no...but it’s still great for the price these days.
Very versatile. Just wish the looper was more than 20 sec.
There is a great selection of OD’s if you take them time to tweak it.

@datnoidkid try changing the amp's and cab's in the rp1000 i had the same problem but changing the amps helped me, hope it helps you!
I HAVE A QUESTION! so if i plug this in to any amp so long as it has the standard guitar input hole, this will work well? i don't have a fancy amp and if i buy this its gonna be to also use its on board amp models. if i do this will my real amp work essentially like speakers? will the tone be uniform regardless of the amp's own sound since after all the rp1000's own sound essentially hijacks it? Somebody PLEASE RESPOND. thanks before hand.

I just sold my TC electronics G system after 4 weeks of hell trying to get it to stop buzzing humming and hissing... and when I finally did get it silent (through the use of outboard hardware hum cancelers then I noticed it had no master wet/dry mix was not designed to allow you to run it parallel with a dry signal. "go figure" I met a lot of great folks on the TC forums though :) Anyway Im gonna give this baby here a shot. Digitech has always been super easy to use and did things "your way".
wait: your summary was "useful to add to your existing setup". is it not a good starting or overall effects system?

@MannyBlue65 I can imagine. Would really want to try it on my Spider III 75W amp, but I think since Spider III is digital I really don't think the sound would be good. I'm going to buy a Kirk Signature Randall 120 Halfstack amp. Can't wait! xD

between the 2, I would get the zoom g5n or you can get the mooer ge250 for the same price range i think

@sidlead66 It sounds as if is was after the delay so it sound a pure note over the bent note sounding very strangely.
they are complicated but it allows you to fine tune the exact tone you want.

The XT does not have bass support. Thats the Bass PODxt Live (by support I mean cabs and effects). And theres no reason to mention the Pod 2 because it is inferior to the XT's modeling capability. Honestly. The X3 is jam-packed with features (including 6 mic preamps that I would consider a little more than "routing options") And I said DESKTOP recording for a reason. MANY RUclips guitarists use Line6 products to record via USB whether thru a POD Studio or a XT etc.
Well I meant its amazing compared to the RP1000. I own an XT live and it does produce amazing tone. The X3 however has bass and vocal support...so no, its not just more than routing options. It offers a lot more in terms of USB desktop recording capability. Some people look for that.
it seems way to complicated to me for sound that is too much alike between the effects. I don't really need that many effects in my play but if I did im still kind of a stickler for the old style single pedals. I will admit I would have alot of fun playing around with the damn thing though.

Anyone who is even a little bit serious about recording music wouldnt use it as a soundcard anyways..
And the XT also has Bass-support, vocal support was found already in the Pod 2.. if you mean that it has an XLR input, well, then we are back to routing options.
And from this video i have to say that the RP1000 sound about the same as the XT.. sterile, but it has its uses.

An all-around-guitar is what you need when you test these things. Just like the guitar his got there. Epiphone les paul. Perfect for this. The most standard pickups ever.
I like the way old setups where myself, i hate the complicated monsters like these, much rather have 20 pedals in front of me rather than in that thing.

I don't wanna judge anybody, but it's easy to tell by body language. BL does not lie. Look at the way he bends his fingers, accentuates his hand movements and bends all his fingers up more than a heterosexual male... you'd look at a chicks hands and you'd see them do those same graceful feminine hand gestures all the time just like Paul.

I used the Pod 2 as an example just for the simple reason that even such old Line 6 technology supports vocalprocessing.
The XT doesnt have any real dedicated vocal processing other then one preamp, but how much difference is that really?
Its great that you enjoy your X3, but face it, its like using 2 XT's at the same time.
