I would agree with you totally. I have owned just about all the big names. The Boss GT10, the Line 6 M13, Pod, Vox ToneLab, and a few others. The RP1000 is superior in every way. The ability to keep your own amps tone and run your modulation/time based effects (reverb, delay, etc) thru the effects loop in awesome. I use it to record my guitar tracks into my laptop, and it has almost no latency. Brilliant design, brilliant tones, rock solid build. A real winner!
It does have a basic loop sampler, and smart tracking harmonizer is incredible. I use a seperate loopstation to trigger the samples we use, but with the Rp-1000 I can make one guitar sound like 3, it's unreal.
@When57 Do a reset. But it will delete all the presets that you changed (not just one) and you'll only have factory presets left. Another option would be to do some research and find all the values of the original preset and change it manually.

I have a VOX Tone Lab LE. i love that shit. 2 things: it has the best tone of any modeler. 2 you want to use a different distortion (it too has an effects loop) if you play anything harder than the ramones

Are we supposed to take our shoe off so we can hit the button on and off with our big toe or what. Got a bald spot from scratching. The booklet looks like font size 8 and is hard for me to read. My eyes aren't so young anymore. Dern it! Thanks for the demo. Nice job on it.
@king666nothing It's almost the EXACT same setup as the RP-1000. ._. The only major difference I found was in the ease of programming presets. With an RP-500, I was able to program all the presets I needed in a fraction of the fraction of the time it took me to program one preset with the RP-21.

@bronxrunner9 Dude somehow you actually got me intrigued about multiFX processors. I just went to GC and got me a DigiTech RP355 (the best I can afford right now). So if I'll become a fan of digital processors, you'll be to blame. ))))) By the way, they all are so fucking complicated compared to 3-4 knob stomp boxes. ))
@RIPTOTHEJOSH04 There should be. I've had much older DigiTech RP processors and they all had a tuner and a drum machine. So I would guess this one does too.
@MrJackanthony I've had trouble with the durability of digitech, I've had two multifx from them break. I also found the amp and distortion models too digital. maybe they've gotten better... but i'm not going back. this is like a TC electronic G-system on a budget. I own a Nova-System and it's AMAZING. a little more expensive than the gt10, but the quality of the effects is pro level. gt10 over the rp1000, but check out the proguitarshop review of the nova system, i've had mine for 2 years.

Like, my RP-21 has almost (if not) the exact same setup as the RP-1000. I'm used to having both presets and add-on effects, ready at will. With the RP-500, I have to choose between the presets, or the on-the-fly sfx. I'm sorry, have you ever seen what an RP-21 looks like? Maybe if you saw it, you'd know what I meant.
when u said we could get our amps sound and the effects from the pedal... what if u just want to get the sound that the rp creates. like the sound thru the presets. because even when i am on preset modeand have distortion on my amp the sound my amp makes completely over powers the preset sound which makes the pedal almost useless. can u please tell me what i am doing wrong
I'm just interested in dynamics.. if you turn your volume down, what happens? does it just turn down the volume of the distortion, or does it clean it up like a real pedal? I have this problem with my rp355.. I don't want it if it just turns the volume down 'till the gate swallows the sound completely.. can anybody help me? thanks
austinfailz misspelled the word. "Nasal" Tone is what I meant. You can hear it when talks about soloing. Most Digitech multi FX. Need a cut between 2kHz to 2.8kHz.
Dont listen to that guy, the hd 500 sounds epic and it is way user friendly, the amps are spot on, and u can down load or make any sound you want. Line six or axfx is the way to go.
The Only thing I don't like about the RP1000 is none of the presets are set at the same volum eI will click on one presets its blowing my ears at when my amp's volume is set on number 2 and then the next preset I click I can't even hear it so I got no Idea why Digitech made this thing that way it was sort of disapointing for me anyways after spending over 400.00 for it.

POD is extremely overrated (although it's a great processor). This DigiTech can deliver everything POD is capable of, but at lower cost. I guess it all comes down to whether or not you care about following trends. Personally I'd go with DigiTech. It also has a much better design.
No drum machine, but has a tuner. Exremely user-friendly (the simplest gear i own). CONS : i question its accuracy. When trying to reproduced presets by copying the exact same settings to user edits, it falls miserably short, 2)on mine the cry-baby on/ off switch is a hair -trigger, so going for those really intense brights turns it off (buzz-kill!) 3) Looping to my 11 rack sounds like shit, much better going direct 4) there's never enough balls!

What Paul does is not exactly a review, it's more of an infomercial. He usually doesn't have much negative things to say about the product he's reviewing. That's because manufacturers pay Guitar World for these infomercials. But as far playing goes - he's actually pretty good.
the whammy sounds like ass, it would be much better to use an external whammy pedal or wah pedal. I have owned the GNX3 for the past 5 years and the wah sounds like crap. Sadly for me im an idiot and didnt read the manual all the way through and realized 5 years later that i could run it through my amps poweramp like this unit does. Read your manuals all the way though!!!!!!

The only thing missing in RP1000 is the drum machine! It is a nice toy but drum machine is really useful.

can you arrange the chain of the effects?
You can set the modulation effects to be pre or post amp. The wah is fixed to pre and the delays and reverbs are fixed to post.
get a Digitech gsp1101 mate.
