Upgraded from an older 18v kit. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.
Ryobi has definitely stepped up their game, although I'm on the rigid platform and currently my high torque is 1500 ft-lbs break away & 1100 ft-lbs tightening.

I was having trouble removing the nuts off my zero turn mower. I was using a 4’ breaker bar and penetrating oil. I couldn’t get it to budge. I bought this impact wrench and it came off like butter. I think they hit 2 or 3 times and then spun off. Super impressed.

The auto modes when it tightens it stops when it sense the hardware not going further then you can use a torque wrench to tighten. When it loosen it stops when hardware starts to be easier to loosen so the hardware won't go flying off.

I might consider getting it since I’m on a limited budget I can’t afford Milwaukee as it’s expensive, it’s a good brand but pricy, not as pricy as snap on but I’m trying to save money
My wife bought me their drill. I was removing lag screws my dewalt drill that I loved would not remove them. I was about to use a breaker bar and decided to try the Ryobi drill I was surprised that it removed every single lag screw. It has became my favorite drill.
I have the mid-range and the high torque and I am very impressed..👍

I daily use my p262 daily, for almost a year now, and it has made mechanic work so much faster and easier. Just bought the high torque, cant wait to try it out on stuff the p262 just couldn't break loose..
What have you encountered so far that the p262 can't break loose? I don't have either one of these yet. I'm leaning in the direction of getting the p262 because it's smaller, lighter and looks like it would cover 99.9% of my use cases as a DIY home auto mechanic.
@@randomdude3066 a couple of harmonic balancer bolts on honda 2.2 engines, which i know wasn't toqrued to 600+ft lbs, and a few other instances when using a socket extension(which i know loses torque, but it was hard to reach). I dont have the "hp battery, so maybe that could also be the problem, i heard those give it that extra "umph".
I just got the pbliw01, but havent had a chance to try it on heavy applications yet.
Thanks for the great video. New to your channel. I normally wouldn’t consider this tool because I don’t do a ton of auto work but with the Ryobi days sales I thought to give a look. Your review helped me make my decision. I think this will perhaps be a great tool to pick up, though maybe not right now.

I just got my hands on the extended ratchet and I am in love with that tool. All I can say is that I feel Ryobi is really changing the DIY market. Coming from a guy who owns Milwaukee tools, I think Ryobi sort of opens up to more options in terms of how you want to spend your money. I don't do cars, but I do lag screws and torque hold downs quite a bit for commercial and new construction, so these tools make life easy for me and the crew. I am going to keep an eye on the high torque impact wrench because I can save by going Ryobi. If I ever need to change tires, I will have the tool for it.

I just bought this today. I've been looking at cordless 1/2 inch ratchets for a while. Milwaukee wanted like 650 for theirs with battery...ryobi was $300 otd with tax where I live. I highly doubt I'll ever need the extra grunt tye Milwaukee will deliver.

I was in home depot deciding on this wrench vs the new p262 already owning the p261 and loving it. I settled on this one because it had more power. I just find it a little heavy and bulky for my auto needs. Now I’m kind of wishing I had the p262. It sucks that the older brushed tools get phased out such as the p261. Ryobi should have a buy back or discount when buying the new stuff and giving back the old stuff lol

I have this one I would recommend only using to take lugs off..
If your fastening lugs use auto mode then use torque wrench to tighten up nuts.. This wrench is no joke!
I love Ryobi tools. I won't spend 2 or 3x the price for Milwaukee which is made by the same manufacturer "TTI"

Most of my tools are Ryobi they have been reliable plus they keep coming up with new stuff besides tools.
The greatest feature is battery compatibility. My father's 8 year old drill/driver works perfectly with an HP battery that came with a kit I bought 2 months ago, and vice versa.✌🏽
Stuck bmw axle nut...air hammer couldnt do it, priced one that could & this was on sale, bought the ryobi & it came right off
The automatic tightening mode is supposed to do that, to lightly torque the fastener - it's basically for running the fastener down ready for being correctly torqued.
TBH, I'm very surprised that appears to be only a 1/2" drive - I would have definitely expected it to be a 3/4" drive for that torque rating.
I don't think that model is sold here (NZ), and when i went to purchase the medium 'wrench, they were "suspended"?

Lets see if you can remove a honda/acura crankshaft bolt using a regular deep 19mm impact socket.

auto mode is to just make the nut snug. and when backing off it'll stop once its broken free.

Very happy with my Ryobi setup. I luv my 1/2 P262 impact does what it needs to for my trucks .. that looks awesome too but I don’t need anything for that much lbs

My question is how many rusted bolts can you remove off a vehicle on that battery before it loses it's juice
Like control arms, rear bottom shock bolts, sway bar brackets and Links, tie rods, wheel hub, axel nuts, lug nuts & steering knuckels
It will go all day but it depends on the battery that you use as well I recommend a 9 AMp hour battery
@@livefreeandtoolon what about a 4.0ah P004 that is supposed to be as good as TTC's tests on that HP 3.0Ah p369 with 21700's. They are now selling the 4Ah HP "PBP004" with the High Torque 1/2" Impact "PBLIW01B"

I got 2 years extended warranty for a total of 5 years warranty for $193 shipped.
I spent $80 on the 18v Charger + Ryobi One+ 18v Power Inflator "P737D" that came with a Ryobi One+ 1.5Ah 18V Lithium battery "PBP002"
About to work on the 02 Jeep WJ soon, I've been unsuccessful at getting the rear bottom bolts out, they are rusted. Let's see what this High Torque Impact Wrench can do!

I thought auto was for tightening not loosening. Someone in a review said it stops automatically
Its both, loosening it stops once it stops getting resistance so you you send the lugs flying, etc. Only bummer is you cant tell it to work in reverse for reverse threaded nuts.

Thank you so much for doing this video. Much appreciated. Would you mind commenting on two amp, 4 amp, 6 amp, versus the 9 amp Ryobi One Plus battery, in terms of how you believe they would perform? It seems to me that the bear tool price at 199 given this specs are fair. It's no bargain, but it seems fair. Now as you may know, there are, or rather, large differences in battery cost depending on the amps. I'm wondering for example if the 6 amp is worth the cost difference when compared to the 4 amp. Again thank you
The 4 amp HP battery is recommended, however I use the 6amp battery because of the extended battery run time. I think they will perform the same though. I wouldn't recommend the 2ah I dont think it will produce enough juice to realize the tool's potential

One of the other reviewers tried different batteries and there was a definite, and quite big, difference with the battery sizes.
Makes sense, really, and others posting reviews on batteries have commented the larger sizes do give more performance under heavy load.
At present my largest are 5 or 6 amp (can't recall) and I'd suggest purchasing one of the smaller batteries unless you expect to need all the potential performance of the tools you will be using and/or using them longer between charges/swapping out the batteries. The advantages of the smaller batteries are lighter weight and less expense, but if you need the performance...
Oh, either way, I'd make sure it was a "HP" rated battery, as the 'stock' ONE+ don't have the secondary contacts IIRC.
A Honda crank pulley bolt that never been removed before is the real test for an high torque impact wrench
What level do you use to tighten the car wheel?
I leave it on three and snug them up and finish with a torque wrench

Most companies are scamming consumers by selling items WITHOUT charge/cable/battery. All to gain the maximum profits.
Noticed LF&TO didn't try the 4A battery. But jumped pass 6A to 9A newer battery that cost more than the impact wrench.
Not exactly cheap when you need have to buy two 9A batteries & charger just to use it. It still WILL NOT remove Crankshaft Bolt.
Again, your normal Ryobi batteries WILL NOT do much of anything. Forcing consumers to buy expensive battery.
If you work for someone, ATG & I recommend to use shop air impact wrench.
Ryobi hp is made by tti the same company that makes Milwaukee
Sorry to bother you again... I am off today and considering pulling the trigger on this. Do you think this can handle suspension work on a Ford Expedition? Specifically suspension arms-- on the chassis side, to the buckle, and bottom shock bolt? If it can do those, I would imagine the bolts on the wheel hub bearing would be a lesser challenge. Highest spec torque I would be up against should be 405, but that would have been from the factory in 2013, so an eight year old bolt. Thanks again for doing this video. Greatly appreciated. I'll be using the latest Ryobi 4 amp HP+ (PBP004).
Mate this would have enough power for almost anything, go for it! I got the p262 (one model down) couldn’t be happier!
@@Unibeamm thanks so much. I was able to hold in hand the p-26 2 recently and it's terrific in size and weight. My reservation is a future seized bolt where I ended up regretting not getting the the bigger one for only $40 more
My car needed a new catalytic converter this weekend and the garage was booked two weeks out. After day and a half of frustration with my old ryobi impact wrench, penetrating oil, and a torch, I decided to try the new high torque version. It only took a few seconds in auto mode for each bolt to erase all that frustration. The p262 may have been up to the job. But, I was willing to pay a bit more to try the new, high torque version since failure would mean getting a tow and waiting till the garage got around to it. Money well spent. I don’t have the space for a compressor right now, so I’m glad that these tools are closing the performance gap with air tools.
@@mikedietrich7830 I'm having the hardest time deciding between the two! In a fantasy world where all bolts behave, it seems that the p262 should be plenty... But I already know that's just not true. My largest objection to the high torque pbliw01 is the size and weight. Can you please comment on size and weight with the battery? I have to HP+ 4 ah.

You should use ratchets and torque wrenches towards yourself and not away. Ask my knuckles how I know. It's safer to pull than push.
Do you really want to hold over 10 pounds just to remove some nuts or bolts? Try removing a normal *ATG Honda Crankshaft's Bolt
This impact, two 9A batteries (over 3 lbs/each) & chargers + Tax = not cheap vs free shop impact & light.
* Use normal or extended impact socket not ATG's socket or Honda's Crankshaft's tool.
