  • Todd Mullis was a pig farmer in Iowa, and one day his wife slipped and had an accident. Or did she? The only witness was their son, and Todd and his wife, Amy, had a more turbulent history than many knew.

I’d also love to hear the occasional bit of Irish slang thrown in, first because it’s class but also to learn more myself. Do you still live in Ireland?
I can fully understand if you feel it inappropriate or disrespectful though.
You keep doing you buddy because it’s working!

Plus the depth of the individual wounds wasn't mentioned. And there's so many ways to die from an accident on a farm. Why a potato fork? It would be extremely difficult to swing that in an enclosed space and hit someone square in the back with enough force to get past the ribs and spine. You would have to stand to the side well within the peripheral vision of the victim without them moving to block it. And he supposedly swung it twice? Meaning he jerked it out, an implement with barbed prongs through all that bone, muscle and muscle fascia then swung and hit her again in the same spot??? All without spattering blood all over the place or leaving signs of a struggle??? I'll say it again, if he'd had a better lawyer and a better wife he wouldn't have been convicted.

A friend of mine as a kid slipped on horse feces, fell and impaled himself on a corn rake through his mid-back when out in the barn. He called for help for several moments but no one could hear him so he tried to lift himself up. According to him, the haft was under his butt so when he tried to lift/sit himself up, the prongs came out and due to the sudden pain from that his arms gave again and he reimpaled himself. His father found him after the dog came in and started barking like mad.
He has 5 scars in mid lower back from a farm tool with 4 prongs......
Now I am not saying he didn't kill his wife, just that she could have done a similar thing if it was indeed an accident. I would not think so if I didn't know someone that had a similar (alleged) accident.

    • @GravitoRaize
      @GravitoRaize 3 года назад +186

I was wondering this same thing. Some people have a low pain tolerance and might pass out from the pain. Also, if one prong was in a particular place the blood pressure loss from pulling it out alone could cause lost consciousness. I'm not saying it wasn't a murder, but I don't know that six holes by themselves would be enough. Maybe there was other evidence we aren't privy to that solidified the homicide call, though.

This is comically stupid. Todd put those searches on the iPad to tell Amy he knew about what was going on, and to scare her about what may to come. No 14 yr old wants their mother dead. However, a husband whose wife is cheating once again, and if divorced could take half the farm with her, is a prime suspect for such a murder.
If he were innocent-he would have denied it completely when the detective accused him of the murder. But he didn’t-he just pretended to not know, etc.

With that said, legally a woman will be compensated for the marriage and he has also has a financial responsibility for his children until adulthood. Everything is situational when dividing up marital assets, gets complicated and the reason why the judge gets final say. Unfortunately life. doesn’t always turn out the way we plan. Real men take on these responsibilities (kids) whether they like it or not, because it’s no longer about them (Mom &Dad). Mr Mullis simply wanted a “get out of jail free” card. 🥴

Like, it doesn't even give reasonable doubt.

@Jav Mar "You're always gonna have problems lifting a body in one piece. Apparently the best thing to do is cut up a corpse into six pieces and pile it all together. [...] And when you got your six pieces, you gotta get rid of them, because it's no good leaving it in the deep freeze for your mum to discover, now is it? Then I hear the best thing to do is feed them to pigs. You got to starve the pigs for a few days, then the sight of a chopped-up body will look like curry to a pisshead. You gotta shave the heads of your victims, and pull the teeth out for the sake of the piggies' digestion. You could do this afterwards, of course, but you don't want to go sievin' through pig s**t, now do you? They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, 'as greedy as a pig'"~ Brick Top, on how to dispose of a corpse, from the Guy Ritchie movie, "Snatch"

@@sunshine3914 when police interviewed him he said the affair was not that serious, however according to the victim (supposedly) she said was going to leave her husband and they were going to get married. If that statement is true It sounds like she was much more serious about the affair than he was. He could lose his family, and half of his farm as well.

That prosecuter thinks she's in drama class or something.. These trials seem like such a circus to me, it doesnt even seem to be about convicting the right person, but more about "winning" a case. They just play mind games to manipulate the jury. What a mess...

I hate the whole "what did he say" thing where you can't actually hear anything until someone points out a sentence. To me it sounds like "there's not way" but you can put almost any sentence into that and you'll hear it

I couldn't hear what he said, but the prosecution kept repeating what they thought they heard so much, that it made my mind hear it too. That's why I have doubt. Not saying he's innocent. I'm just saying that there's not enough evidence for me to say he's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

I find it so strange that this women was in fear for her life yet she still cheated on him AGAIN anyway. Not saying he didn't do it, I'm just saying her side stated she was afraid if he would find out about her cheating but she wasn't to afraid to do it anyway and apparently she didn't bother deleting any messages on her phone that could be used against her.
