Hears her neighbour screaming saying “it hurts....stop” and decided not to bother calling the police. Worst neighbour ever!!!!
So many times I see this on these shows... I heard screaming and did nothing! Like what? Call the damn police people.
Unfortunately , most of neighbours react that way :(
Exactly...what is the worst that can happen? You are wrong and nobody is hurt or raped or murdered? Or all three? You are a little embarrassed but shown to be a good neighbour and good citizen...
I would imagine that determining the source after a single (not repeated) incident would be difficult, and the cops might even be like ya whatever. Maybe someone was blasting a horror movie or something
She took the picture who led them to David so....🤷♀️
The neighbor hears a "serious, serious woman screaming...she was screaming no, it hurts, stop" and ya didn't think to call 911 right then and there?
Maybe she has a serious scale she goes by, and the poor girl didn't register desperate and dieing in her opinion 🤔Who freakin knows why people do and think the way they do, especially when it's that obvious someone is in a desperate situation. 🤔
maybe she thinks her neighbor was into chains and whips and that they excite her.

I had her as a computer teacher in 2006. She was wonderful. Taught me so much, many of the cool keyboard shortcuts I use everyday. Hell, she even taught me how to type properly. I'm sure I'd be tying this comment at least 15% slower if it wasn't for her. I remember she brought stress balls to class often, taught us how to avoid carpel tunnel syndrome, how to use Paint, and so much more. One time, she caught me playing iSketch during class (an old online Pictionary game). I thought she was going scold me, but instead she asked if she could play with me. It was a powerful moment for me, as I wasn't used to this sort of interaction from teachers. I always remember her as one of the better well-rounded teachers. She will be missed by many I'm sure

These stories where a neighbor hears and does nothing makes me more grateful for my neighbors at my last apartment. My then boyfriend had fallen pretty heavily onto the floor. He was fine and it was just one thud but it was hard. Police showed up not long after and wanted to see he was safe even after I said what happened. If he had actually gotten hurt, if someone had hurt him, he would have been possibly saved due to that neighbor. We laughed about it at the time but it makes me a bit emotional now. That neighbor and the cops that day were looking out for him...and it was just a thud. How do people ignore screams for help? It just breaks my heart...but I think to those neighbors and though I didn't know them...I'm wishing them extra well for looking out for their fellow man.

I’ve learned a few crime tricks in life. If you’re being raped, yell “fire” and if you’re being attacked in your rich-neighborhood-house, yell “there’s a black man raping me!” That lady would’ve called the cops for either of those shouts, bet.
Just a couple weeks ago, I heard a woman screaming outside near my house. I thought of all these videos, and I went outside to investigate. I am a very petite woman, so it's not like I could physically stop an attack, but at least I could call the police if necessary.
It was a domestic dispute situation. I didn't witness any violence, but the woman had bruises on her and told me that he had been violent in the past. Sadly, she ended up returning home with him, because they have children and she doesn't want to leave them with him. But I got her contact information and we now talk regularly. I hope I can convince her to leave before she becomes one of these videos. :(

I called the police a few year's back when my neighbour was screaming, I was uncertain if it was an attack but just incase... turned out she was screaming at her poor partner.... yet this pathetic excuse of a woman specifically heard a blood curdling scream with a pleading to stop, and did sweet fack all!
Talk about the bystander effect
“I heard a really serious woman scream... like she was being attacked...I heard her scream ‘no!’...I heard something about ‘it hurts’...’stop it’...the scream was _really_ serious”
Not bystander effect, just low empathy.
Maybe the victim wasn't a good neighbour or was known to yell a lot.
@@wilhelmvg9978 Yea sick of all the "bystander effect" comments, like that excuses being a total bastard
@@Gos1234567 Those might be one and the same.
@@VioletJoy Exactly. You may as well call it "the bastard effect" because it's not an attempt to excuse anything. It's got nothing to do with morality.
It's an attempt to understand people's (supposed) behaviour ("supposed" because afaik, the original event that inspired it was misreported and in reality, the more bystanders there are, the more likely that someone will intervene).
So, people can criticise it for being exaggerated or wrong. But there's a huge difference between trying to understand something and trying to justify it.
Just the opening Florida statement cracked me up. Thanks, Mike, for all your special touches.
I know! The dog looks so sad in the back of the car...like you, I hope his new home is everything a dog could wish for....poor baby!

I am glad that the dog found a new home.
His dog in the car looked so embarrassed!
the ONLY nice thing to come out of this story is that Kobe was adopted.
Thank you for saying this. I almost stopped watching because I thought something awful may have happened to Kobe dog ❤️🐾❤️
Came here looking for this comment.
good to know. The dog looked kinda sad, and I worried about him not having a home.
Was Kobe's demeanor during the arrest typical of Huskies? I know it was only a quick glympse but my Standard Poodle would be barking about all the excitement/trouble or whining to meet the new people if she didn't realize I was upset. Likely she'd be very aware of my yelling and be upset trying to get out to find me because she likes to be in the middle of shenanigans.
@@HealingHappyAli I don’t know the answer sadly but I thought the exact same! I’ve never known a dog to sit there quietly when their owner is being attacked

I'm so glad you gave an update on Kobe. Such a sad story.
The most disturbing part of this video is when you realize that time he attempted to rob a Blockbusters with a water gun ended up being his most solid, well-thought-out plan in the entire video.
I'm truly perplexed as to why they felt compelled enough to take a photo of the unidentified truck but never thought hey I should call the cops also!!!
I guess they didn't want to get involved...sigh. It does seem horrible that the poor woman managed to scream for help and was HEARD (!) yet nobody did anything.
Strikes me as bystander effect. She felt the need to do something she figured no one else did yet, but most people assume someone already called 911. It's why if you are ever around when an emergency happens, you tell specific people what to do. "You, in the red shirt, call 911, and you in the khakis give me some paper towels." And if you hear someone screaming, it doesn't hurt to be the second person who called, just call. It was one of the first things I learned in first aid classes before I was a first responder. Let's help fight bystander effect, do something.
What's even better is that it wasn't an unidentified truck. He lived in the townhouse with her until they separated, the neighbors knew it was his.
@@tinychimichanga9502 yeah people kind of shock me tbh lol. I've been nearly killed by a crazy ex also but luckily i had neighbour's who actually took action upon hearing the ruckus
I can imagine maybe she didn’t think the police would care for a simple scream heard, I don’t know, in my country domestic violence is so common that people are desensitized. Like, they say that nobody should interfere in a couple’s argument. Really sad, for women at least.

Years ago in NY. Kitty Genoese was screaming for help and several neighbors heard her and did nothing. She was murdered right below their windows, which they had closed to drown out the noise. What does that tell you about humans.
@@tonmarinaxxzz yes. And the murderer kept coming back to beat the life out if her. It's amazing how many people living in her building had "thought about calling for help." None of them did.
