We are showcasing episodes not viewed in decades. Starting from Season 11 (1982), this is the first season when animal furs were no longer offered as prizes, supporting Bob’s advocacy of animal rights in memory of his wife Dorothy Jo.
To celebrate what would have been Bob Barker's 100th birthday, the channel is also featuring episodes from the debut season of The "New" Price Is Right in 1972.

Too bad the contestant didn't know where the ball was like Bob. It would've saved this game.
Correction, The Shell Game was not played for 10 years when TPIR debuted. It had its first playing back in 1974 so that would make it eight years, not 10.
It's even worse when it's a wipeout... which did happen albeit rarely in this game. I've also seen other instances where in this game they get three out of four only for them to lose the game on the one they didn't put the chip where the ball was.

@@meyerj75I presume you mean in prime time. Wheel has been going continuously since the 80s, but all I remember during my life is it being syndicated. (and it won't be the same without Pat)
@@BlueCrystalTear Back then, Wheel continued to air daytime on NBC until the Summer of 1989. Then, they moved to Television City and aired on CBS with Bob Goen hosting. In January 1991 the show moved back to NBC before the daytime version was finally cancelled in September that same year.
@@BlueCrystalTear WOF started its run on NBC's daytime schedule around 1-6-1975 and lasted until 6-30-1989 as the show was moving all operations from NBC Studio 4 in Burbank to CBS TV City in Los Angeles. It reappeared on CBS 2 1/2 weeks later on CBS airing from 7-17-1989 to 1-11-1991 and one last time, NBC gave the go ahead from 1-14 to 9-20-1991, ending WOF's run on daytime network property for good after a 16 year, 8 1/2 year run. By then, Pat Sajak focused his operations on the nighttime syndicated circuit as he left the daytime version on 1-9-1989 to focus on his short lived late night talk show (I've seen at least one episode and my personal opinion, it's not bad) which run for 18 months on CBS. Rolf Benirschke and Bob Goen took over daytime duties as Sajak reigned supreme until his retirement in 2024, ending the era of the golden age of game show host emcees. Ryan Seacrest is slanted to take over and, of course, WOF is still on syndication. All said, Pat Sajak hosted WOF (both daytime and nighttime) for an unprecedented 42 1/2 years, a record that would never be broken again. How will Seacreast do is still uncertain but thanks for all the memories you have given us, Pat.

Those type of near wipeout losses in the Shell Game are quite common with Drew Carey, but were unusual with Bob Barker. There was a wipeout loss in the Shell Game this season with Drew Carey, but Drew Carey seemed more relaxed about it.
