    You're so right about the fingertrips (and regrips) playing a part in good times and not only the solution. You can watch the top cubers' average of 25/50/100 vids and play it at x0.25 speed to learn quite a lot. One thing that example solves/reconstructions don't show is that many of them show you the solve with alternative finger trips. That's why many people who do show alternative solutions saying that another solution is better might technically be right in terms of move count or getting a better case, but disregards the regrip, rotation or general flow of a set of moves that can be executed faster because of the ease of the grip/fingertrick.

    • @STUCUBE
      @STUCUBE  5 месяцев назад +15

      Yes this is a very little talked about aspect of the solution. It’s almost more important than the efficiency, and can make or break the solve

    as for the last f2l pair there is actually a slightly better no regrip solution, where you use a wide u' to fix the cross and the triple x cross instead of a D move, then use U' (R' F R F') (R U' R') to solve the last pair, which ends in a small L OLL. This allows f2l to be solved even faster and also potentially giving oppotunity to use VLS, winter variation and ZBLL for an even faster time.

      Also he so easily would if he were actually abused like people tend to pretend, to cope. In reality, he only practices about an hour per day.
      Tymon, contrastingly, cubes as often as he possibly can after subtracting sleeping, eating, and other outright necessities. Nearly all actually free time is spent cubing, although even he does a bit of gaming and running, neither of which must be done. So even Tymon doesn't practice cubing as much as some musical virtuosos practice their instruments.

    As brilliant as his times are, I do worry about the pressure he's under from his parents and/or coaches. I'm glad he is getting fast times because if he doesn't perform well there's every chance he might be punished.
    There was a video circulating about a month ago which showed Yiheng's mum hitting him. In my view it's never ok to hit a child, they can understand you so talk to them if you must reprimand them. In the case of Yihemg, he's still very young so there's absolutely no reason to physically punish him.
    I don't care if the culture is different somewhere else, kids should not be beaten at all but especially not for having a mid/bad average at a cubing comp.
    Fingers crossed Yiheng makes it out the other side and doesn't grow to associate cubig with abuse or punishment.

    He could do R moves instead of F at the beginning (faster?) and then insert pair to the left slot to get a PLL skip as you showed.

      It is more efficient, but idk how much time it would’ve taken to recognize. Still probably would’ve been at least around 2.4 if he knew the alg

      @@STUCUBE if he had the same tps for 23 moves instead of 47 he could easily sub 2 with recognition not 2.4 and your solution was 28 moves

    While the 4th pair is still in the back, yihang could do this f2l alg without a rotation which will give the same ll case: R' U R' F R F' R

      That’s a nice alg for the case. Definitely better than rotating twice

    How does this solve go if the 4th pair goes… R’ U sledge R’?

      It’s also a pll skip, so definitely better than the alternate solution I showed haha
