I was literally terrified of the ugly, unsightly beasts etc. I left the church for 20 years… you are reading correctly. It never made sense except for all the rules of Do’s, Don’ts& not really living out the kingdom of God. I have re- embraced my SDA faith in 2017. The Bible is so clear & easy to understand only if we truly surrender all to God. I , Thankyou for explaining the spirit of prophecy so clearly. I am looking forward to #3 episode. To all of the ‘secular’ people that see the hypocrisy of the Christianity that is most visible to them I advise them with two simple points.
1-Coercion is NOT of God but is of the enemy of God.
2-A true believer in the Everlasting Gospel will seek to abide by the simple precept of our Savior as He spoke in Matthew 5:44 in which He tells us to LOVE OUR ENEMIES and BLESS those who curse us.
Coercion and despising one’s enemy is not Christianity. It is quite the opposite.

This is powerful! The Patriot Evangelist movement is very deceptive but I saw it for what it was: a militant group that pushes its rights instead of focusing on the Great Commission & word of God. I always ask myself if the group claiming to be for Christ is actually doing & saying what Christ said. If not, it's a distraction that I don't need. Thank you once again for a well prepared, full-proof study!
These “prophets” reminds me of a quote from Early Writing she describes a group of people who have light and much power but no sweet love,joy and peace (EGWSDQ 24.1-24.2)

I know this takes a lot of time to prepare. As Gods true children we are casual observers of the events unfolding as predicted so many years before. We belong to God’s kingdom not the kingdom of this world. Eventually both sides will come together to persecute God’s remnant people. We cannot choose any side but God’s. Remember just because pastor Myers only highlighted what is transpiring on the religious right’s side does not mean the other side is the good side. No side is good in this political saga. Satan is setting up all to persecute the remnant at the very end.

Around 1972 or 1973 I first read The Great Controversy. I was trying to figure out what to do with Ellen White. I had spent about two or three years mixed up with Christian Science. After that experience I was a little suspicious of anyone, particularly a woman, who claimed to be inspired by God. But I felt that it could be possible, and the only way I could find out was to read Ellen White for myself. So I read Great Controversy, among others of her writings. I was not disappointed. Her writings were completely different from the writings of Mary Baker Eddy. Still, I was not entirely convinced. Just before reading G.C., I had read a two volume set, a commentary on the books of Daniel and the Revelation, "God Cares," by C Mervyn Maxwell. In his commentary on Revelation 20, Maxwell explained the various views within Christianity concerning the millennium. He explained that postmillennialism used to be the predominate view, but began to fall out of favor after the Civil War, and particularly after World War I, and he indicated that although postmillennialism had not entirely disappeared, nobody expected it to ever make a comeback.
So then I read G.C. It starts out as history, starting with the destruction of the temple in 70 A.D. Anybody with a knowledge of history could have written that, it seemed to me, but I continued reading. I read her chapter on Modern Revivals. It sounded as though she was describing what was happening in my hometown. The Jesus Movement of the late 1960's - early 1970's was going on. (If you've seen the movie, "Jesus Revolution," you know what I am talking about) I didn't know it at the time, but my hometown, Costa Mesa, California, was the epicenter of the Jesus Movement. It was the beginning of Calvary Chapel, who was pastored by the late Chuck Smith. From Costa Mesa the movement radiated up and down the coast and across the United States. But the real mover of the movement was a guy by the name of Lonnie Frisbee, although at the time, I didn't know that. But I did know Lonnie. He was a kid in my sixth grade class. Anyway Modern Revivals described what was happening in my hometown.
But these people had no interest in ushing in the "long awaited millennium," as Sister White described the apostate protestants activities and expectations further on in the G.C. (Also read what she wrote in Desire of Ages in the chapter based on Matthew 24) These people I was encountering in my hometown were expecting to be raptured, possibly at any moment. (This was shortly after Hal Lindsey's "Late Great Planet Earth" was published) When you think you could be raptured at any moment, it seems to me that it must have been difficult to plan what to have for dinner that night, let alone "ushering in the long awaited millennium."
So I didn't know what to think. She accurately described the modern "revival" I was witnessing in my hometown, but when she described the expections and activites of the apostate protestants in the very end, it seemed to me that she was describing a postmillennialist movement. But the problem was that in the 1970's, the predominant eschatology was dispensationalism, not postmillennialism.
It seemed to me that if Sister White was correct, postmillenialism would have to come back into favor among protestants. But according to what C Mervyn Maxwell said in his chapter on Revelation 20, postmillenialism was probably gone for good.
Now fast-forward to January 1989. I was attending Southern College. I was taking Doctor Gulley's course on Last Day Events. Twice I remember Doctor Gulley stating that we could be in Heaven by Christmas of that year. He wasn't setting a date. He was just saying that God could wrap things up that quickly. I think he was concerned that some students were in need of conversion, and he was trying to reach them. But he certainly would not have made the statement if he didn't believe it was at least possible.
So I thought that if it really could be that soon, and if Ellen White was a true prophet, we should be seeing a return to Postmillennialism among protestants. But if that were happening, how would I know? It isn't likely that they would be talking about it on the six o'clock news. But I started monitoring religious programing on television to see if I could detect anything. Almost immediately I found something. I was watching Jack Van Impe's program. Van Impe was saying, "I hate those Dominionists." He went on to explain that the Dominionists -- whoever they were -- wanted to keep all of God's promises for themselves. They did not believe that the Jews were still the people of God. And Van Impe, being a Dispensationist, strongly disagreed with them.
All that seemed interesting, but I still didn't know who these Dominionists were, or if they were what I was expecting to find. But at least I had a name to investigate. Next I went to a Christian bookstore in Hamilton Mall, Chattanooga. There I found out that there had been a slew of books written, some by Dispensationalists defending their views, and others by Dominionists attacking the Dispensationalists and promoting their own views. There was a veritably feud going on between Dispensationalists and Dominionists going on in print, and the Dispensationalists were on the losing side, particularly among charismatics. The charismatics historically had always been Dispensationalists, but after Robert Tilton had read a book by a Dominion Theologist, The charismatics converted to Dominionism. Tilton, who was a famous "Name-it-and-claim-it" televangelist, had arranged for the Dominionist to present his views to about a thousand of his charismatic buddies, after which they all converted to Dominionism, which if I haven't already mentioned it are postmillennialists, just as I had anticipated because of what Ellen White had written. So Ellen White was exactly right.
Dominionism or slightly different forms of it are known by a variety of names: Dominionism, Kingdom Now, Seven Mountain Mandate, etc. They are all postmillennialists. This shift away from Dispensationalism to postmillennialism is the most significant eschatology realignment of our lifetimes, vis-a-vis the Great Controversy theme. and yet hardly any Adventist preachers or teachers are even aware of it. We Adventists have been so fixated on disproving Dispensationalism. We've been so distracted that we didn't notice that Dispensationalism bears little resemblance to the Apostate Protestant movement that Sister White described in The Great Controversy and elsewhere.

At 1 hour and 13 minutes in it must be noted that Ellen White did NOT write the footnote and commentary in the Appendix. This commentary is not in the later version of the Great Controversy, only in the 1888 version and not because Ellen White’s words were removed. As the White Estate clearly indicates by not having this writing in black color. Therefore the footnote and commentary in the appendix was not written by Ellen White.

This is a serious question for transparency; Brother Ivor, did you vote and which party did you vote for? Jesus said we do things in the open and if you're going to focus on one side of the isle as the culprits for end time events and ignore the other, I think it would be good policy to show that we aren't tainted by the talking points of the other side as politics is a very heated discussion. So, for transparency, did you vote and which side did you vote for. Thank you.

It's not safe for us to go around asking who voted for who. That isn't our burden. The way we test if someone has become political is by what comes out of their mouths. Are they the talking points of a political party, or the talking point of the Bible? So I'd say, search my sermons, and see if I have ever preached a political talking point. That's the best way to know if one has been tainted by a political party.
We as Christians should not vote for either party!!! If any party is doing something contrary to God's will and we vote for that party whatever their agenda is we are voting on the same evil. Put your vote for God!!!
@@powerofthelamb Thank you for your response. I will say this brother Ivor and Atonte - I love you both and I don't believe we should be in politics at all. Your response seems to indicate that you did vote but that we shouldn't disclose it. I will say, it's not safe to vote for a party or to be involved with politics at all. The taint of politics will have us speak their talking points. I'll share this quote:
Those who teach the Bible in our churches and our schools are not at liberty to unite in making apparent their prejudices for or against political men or measures, because by so doing they stir up the minds of others, leading each to advocate his favorite theory. There are among those professing to believe present truth, some who will thus be stirred up to express their sentiments and political preferences, so that division will be brought into the church. CCh 316.1
The Lord would have His people bury political questions. On these themes silence is eloquence. Christ calls upon His followers to come into unity on the pure gospel principles which are plainly revealed in the word of God. We cannot with safety vote for political parties; for we do not know whom we are voting for. We cannot with safety take part in any political scheme. CCh 316.2
Not only does she say keep our prejudices away but that we should not vote for any party it's not safe. If you voted brother Ivor, I would strongly suggest that we cleanse ourselves from the filth of politics for it will taint our minds. Trump and the Republicans are playing their part in the great drama that is unfolding, but so are the democrats - both sides are playing their part. Listen to this quote:

Men are closing their eyes to the real character of Romanism and the dangers to be apprehended from her supremacy. The reason why protestants are deceived is because they are closing their eyes to the papacy yet it doesn't seem to matter with you that the papacy is gaining supremacy even in America through Biden and Pelosi and other democrats, your talking points seems to be only centred around a one side POLITICAL PARTY.

It says that the Roman church is "far reaching in her plans and modes of operation" - that means she employs a variety of ways to accomplish her means. Both sides of the aisle is not safe for us. The papacy is determined to control of the world - so how is it conspiratorial when we see these things happening right before our very eyes? Come out from among her. Politics will divide and destroy and if the venom of it is in our hearts, it will poison the minds of those who follow.

None of these quotes tell us not to vote. They tell us not make our political positions a point of contention. Here Ellen White says: "While we are in no wise to become involved in political questions, yet it is our privilege to take our stand decidedly on all questions relating to temperance reform. . . .
There is a cause for the moral paralysis upon society. Our laws sustain an evil which is sapping their very foundations. Many deplore the wrongs which they know exist, but consider themselves free from all responsibility in the matter. This cannot be. Every individual exerts an influence in society. In our favored land, every voter has some voice in determining what laws shall control the nation. Should not that influence and that vote be cast on the side of temperance and virtue?" Review and Herald, Oct. 15, 1914. (Italics supplied.)
Now I'm not sure how many of my sermons you have seen, but the thought that the papacy doesn't matter to me, tells me that you may not have seen many. See my Back to Basics series or this very series. Protestants are falling for the Papacy. Tha'ts the very point of this series.

I do think that you should understand that by implication Brother Myers is not altogether in agreement with the general content of Walter Veith's presentations. What I am suggesting here is personally I am not altogether in agreement with either Brother Veith or Pastor Myers. I do appreciate you sharing, but the more I learn that folks consider that there is harmony between the messages of Veith and Myers, the more I understand that folks are not really understanding the content of either brother. There are I believe significant problems with both. Both are sensationalized messages that appeal more to our flesh and our own self-construed identity, then to our intellect. I used to admire Pastor Meyers until he took a decided stance against Conservatives. Demonizing them as Nationalists is unfortunate.
I consider myself a conservative in the true definition of "conservative". Unfortunately, politics has kidnapped the true meaning of conservatism, and Protestantism has teamed up with nationalism, politics, the Seven Mountain Movement, and false prophecy, to kidnap biblical truth and biblical prophecy. Lovingly, I say, biblical truth and prophecy come before any self-identification, political persuasion, or nationalism. This world is not our home. Our beliefs are rooted in the builder of the city with a true foundation. We can all look forward to that one.

I have not watched all of these yet. My family has hinted that I need to watch this and how I feel. Condemning the conservatives is an early take on his part. I have felt that because of the Godless leftist movement that has been the majority the past couple years, that there would be a swing very hard the other way to a conservative Christian based political movement. Which will go so far one way that it will lead to one world order and the mark of the beast being implemented.

You're on track, brother. Good for you. I wouldn't have thought that Brother Myers would go this route, but here we are. What can be said, just to keep our church in prayer for what seems to me some grave foolishness that we are considering and even at times practicing. Folks here seem to be pretending that the brother never expressed himself in the manner that you suggest. That seems a very disingenuous and foolish expression.
