Was at the Skatepark over the weekend and ran into a guy teaching his daughter and her friend how to skate while I was trying to land a heelflip, turns out they've been watching you guys too! Kinda awesome seeing Braille fans in the wild.
Lol that's dope
All my friend say "FIRST TRYYYYY" when I land anything😂
bro said “in the wild” 💀
@Toby Pham who’s Braille
i'm a beginner and so are most of my friends, what i've learned is that skateboarding is like 30% skill and 70% mindset. if you're not afraid to fail, you'll learn way faster.
Imre I have the worst thing in your comment it is the afraid to fail
yeah like i know i can do it but i’m scared of falling and getting hurt :((
Never be ashamed of wearing a helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, or knee pads!
@@funnystuff100100 i always wear protection but im just not brave enough. im always afraid to fall. Any tips?
@@kokiri6591 put yourself in a situation where it becomes closer to just do it rather than not.
Guys, I learned the Pop Shuvit about 2 months ago and I got one OP tip which helped me a lot. Try to lean forward over the edge of the board. That makes you jump forward so that the board will stay under you the whole time. That also helps overcoming your fear to land with both feet
This is for anyone who is a beginner. Ollies are really hard to learn. Don’t quit because you don’t get it instantly. You can get it. I would recommend getting skater trainers (25$) and practice. Use the practice steps that Aaron says but also do this. Step 1 press down on the tail and lift your front foot. Step 2 lean your front foot so it’s sideways on the grip. Step 3 drag your front foot up the griptape, it will ruin your shoes. Step 4 press down with your front foot. Step 5. Add the jump. Remember, it’s not easy it takes time, persevere and enjoy. (Aaron if you see this add this on ur next Ollie Tutorial)
Mark Micek I appreciate the advice cuz I am a beginner skater but I’ve heard that they make it harder to do it regularly without the trainers so I’m not gonna use them
i hate that i can tripple heelflip on grass but cant ollie up over a street curb
riga mortis thats a whole mood
I just ordered them yesterday
skater trainers are a waste
Instructions unclear, tried to shovit in slow motion, accidentally travelled to the future

Dude deadass there is a youtube channel name "luis mora" he makes skate vids lmao
@@teckniqqque how is that funny lol? and like luis mora has literally 1.17M subs, and most likely most of those people watch Braille
Failing over and over with these "most basic tricks" should be quite demotivating and may even look like the often quoted definition-of-insanity cliché. On top of this you always see/read how other people accomplish these with such an ease within the shortest amount of time possible. Makes you really question the choice of stepping on the board at times.
But if somethings finally lands it feels ridiculously great and makes you face the next thing with even more spur! Perseverance, a positive attitude and tutorials like this (+skating with other people if/whenever possible) are immensely helpful.
Anyway - cheers from GER and huge thanks for the update (the shove it part within the pop shove it chapter in SMS#1 didn't work out for me) and, most important, thank you for making 42yo me trying something new - even if it hurts a lot and makes me look like an old rolling duck with movement disorders most of the time! ... one which is having lots of fun!
Ive been needing this- its been a full week of missing and missing, even though i can do all the practice steps near-perfect. Thanks for the motivation.
after practicing for a MONTH, I finally learned to shove it because of this video

@@evakowatch5762 like Aaron says, repeat it repeat it repeat it.
Bobby Greene I have for months and I fell really bad when I just friend to fully commit
@@evakowatch5762 are you doing the scoop right? Imagine your back foot is sorta doing a loose L shape (backwards L if you ride regular). Tweak how hard you pop and scoop and you will get that 180 rotation. If you pop and scoop too hard it will rocket into a varial flip and potentially credit card yourself so keep practicing and make sure to not use your front foot at all for the 180 rotation
Bobby Greene I ride goofy
Something I adopted for learning tricks is to practice while moving. I use to learn tricks stationary, but had huge problems adapting them in motion cuz my balance wasn't shifted the right way, and the board sometimes moved differently too.
I recommend one or two shots at the beginning of the trick performed in the world at the start of the vid. This shows it off and makes it look cool. Show where it can be done. Tricks just don't have the same effect while stationary infront of a blank wall.
I agree with the moving thing. I struggled to ollie and frontside while moving since i learned them by being still.
If you practice your tricks stationary with a straightish back and not staring at the ground to hard, it will make it a easier transition, at least I have only landed one Ollie while moving and it was because I wasn't staring at my feet making sure my board was attached 🤣

This video was brilliant. Please continue this style. The super slowmo really helps.
Your videos are great. I'm 31 and started skateboarding as my 5 year old wanted to start. It's been the best thing ever to do during this very challenging time.
Thanks a lot and keep it up 👍
I just picked up skating too at 38 my boy is 4 and wanted to start. I hope things are going well for you! I’m one week in and basically sore all the time from both the exercising and the falling.
This is so awesome. I love all of your tutorials. You really make me believe in myself again. I am 30 and just started skating again after 14 years. Thank you so much.
I’m getting my first skateboard tomorrow, as I fancied finally having a go, at 39 i maybe too old for a lot of it . But this channel has inspired me to try. Thanks and would love more slow mo tutorials they are incredibly helpful in understanding what needs to be done. Fingers crossed I can learn to shuvit.
How is it going with the board? It's been a month now.

the back foot for some reason just never lands on the board its very frustrating
For me I put more of like a faith thing into it like I make myself believe I can do it
Keep your shoulders straight best tip
try to get in front of the board with the back foot, not even on it but just not behind it and with more and more tries you can get that confidence

Thanks Braille, I’ve been doing them in fast motion before now but I’ve always wanted to learn how to slow down time and do my shuvits like that

Bro idk man. Some of the comments say otherwise with people calling others posers
I grew up skating rough-ish ground so i always had to pop my tricks so i never properly learned shuvs and only pop-shuvs, idk if thats a bad thing
you can do no-pop shuvs on rough ground, just scoop more down and less back
Its not bad dont worry!
Haven’t even watched and i know it’s gonna be an amazing tutorial
This tutorial is made sooo well. I saw my friend practice it yesterday and I tried it myself. It went actually horrible, I had no clue what to actually do.
Watched this today while practicing, and got it down in an hour! Thanks man I appreciate how well you explained it :)
I really appreciate these videos I’m learning to skate at 21, my friend showed me and Ollie and I was able to copy it without much issue so I bought myself a board and I’ve been working on consistently landing clean ollies and balancing manuals in place and cruising and trying to do it for a bit. Looking forward to learning the shuvit
Aight thanks, I've been struggling with this for weeks 💀💀💀
Love the Grip Art
I’ve only been skating for 4 months now and your videos have helped me Ollie so quickly
Every time I watch an instructional video from Aaron, I'm super hyped. It makes me want to go out and beat that irrational fear of doing tricks moving.

Thank you so much, I've been struggling with this "easy" trick a long time and today I finally landed it. Still have to practice it while moving, but thanks to you I learned something new and the feeling is amazing. I really hope I can still learn a lot more and have fun. I've been wanting to ride a skateboard since I was a kid but couldn't, I was beggining to think I was "too old" for this already. This is my first trick, I really appreciate what this channel is doing for all of us newbies, keep it up, please! 💛

These SLO mo videos are so helpful man, I just started skating and the Ollie tutorial helped me land my first one yesterday! (:
I just stopped skating because I was just feeling mad at myself since I have been skating for over a year now and I can barely ollie higher than 2 inches and evenly, but it’s really fun to watch other people skate
I'm so scared just about skateboarding stereotypes and when to start learning tricks and which tricks to learn but I'm still tryin
These videos are awesome I like how you said help people don’t make fun of them that’s what it’s all about and having fun
The combination of the slow motion and your very concise explanation helped me grasp it that little bit more, so thank you :)
Aaron has done so much for beginner skateboarders, I don't even know how to express my gratitude in full, other than recommending his videos to everyone. I wish I'd a had this back in the day when I was learning to skate in the early 90's. Still very useful for me today.

U could probably shuvit more easily than ollies unlike me
Just don't give up I could finally get my Ollie's just last week! And I'm so stoked after hours and days I thought I would never but I finally got it
I started skating 3 years ago, what I’ve found is that it all clicks in suddenly, one day after learning and trying again and again you’ll be able to Ollie, or shove it or whatever trick you’re trying. And then next time it’ll come to you faster and faster until you can do it every time :)
Hey don’t give up buddy. It takes time to learn. You can get stuff like skater trainers to help you learn. And watch all the Ollie tutorials. Aaron also doesn’t mention one practice step. When you step on the tail, put your front foot in the sliding position but don’t slide. That step really helped me. Also just focus on the front of your body.
