One thing I didn’t understand until I did it myself if that the board doesn’t rotate directly beneath you. It actually moves out in front of you. If you jump straight up and down the board won’t be under you when you land. You have to jump forward (relative to the front of your body, not direction of movement)

Great video. This channel will certainly go big soon. The production value of this video is really high. Looking forward to working on my shove its tommorow!
Skidish Skateboarding I think your latest video is really going to help me progress too. Not only because watching you fail over and over again told me that I’m not especially bad at skateboarding (I was thinking there was something wrong with me because I keep failing, even in tricks I’ve “learned”) but because of all the insights you shared (like “change something, don’t keep doing it wrong over and over again or you’ll train wrong muscle memory” and “always try to commit to landing on the board even if it’s upside down”)
the foot positioning really helped improve both my shuvits and pop-shuvits and overall have more control and consistency, i need to work on the scoop though, almost did a 3 shuv lol. thank you so much for the tutorial, it made me love shuvits a little more
Fakie shuvit was my first trick. When it comes to backside shuvits I find the pop shuvit easier. I don't have the light touch to do shuvits, I really have to think about it. The front side shuvit has been a battle that I have not won yet. I think when done right or on a pyramid or obstacle the pop shuvit is a great looking and underrated stylish trick. Great video. Your narrative is always on point.
Thanks for watching! yea, I agree. It was hard doing normal "no-pop" shuvits haha I had to really relax. Frontside shuvits are A lot of fun though. I'm working on a video for them.
This is literally the most helpful skate tutorial I have watched. Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to work on my ollie’s for about a month and a half but I also want to learn how to shuv it because it can get a little boring practicing the same trick.
To get the board to spin more under you try spin it a little after the pop, it's a little finness with the toes. I recently unlocked the next level when I ordered a new board and practiced on the carpet before adding any hardware or tape, but the catch is the most important part in consistency. Look at his front foot, out the way - then catch - aim to a little circle with your front foot guiding the board around and stopping it from flipping then boom catch and follow with the back foot. finally I'm clearing some decent gaps with my pop-shovs
Skidish Skateboarding I really want to learn tre flips, so a tutorial of those would be cool. Oh, and what tricks should I have down before I try them?

I’m having trouble with this trick. I know how to Ollie, fs 180, I’ve landed fs shove it’s about 7 times, and almost landed heel flips. I came to this trick because I forgot I needed to learn pop shov its, but learning how to shov it will help along the way. When doing this trick the board goes behind me like if I’m doing a fs shove, it feels like I can’t scoop with my back foot it feels like my back foot isn’t even on the board. I can do the shov it motion with my back foot but on the board it’s really hard.
It just about the timing. A lot of things are happening really fast. Keep trying and you will get it. Thanks for watching!
