By the way, for people afraid of slipping out in any trick landing, keep in mind that the more loose and with bending the knees you land, the smaller the chance of a wipeout / slipping out. The stiffer your legs are on impact with the ground, the higher the chance the board shoots out from under you. This really helps with pop shove its, as you really don't need to do a massive pop and hard scoop and 'stomping the landing' at all. It's a pretty mellow trick that benefits from not going crazy. Obviously, the more experienced you get, the more you could pop them and even do them over or onto things.
My biggest fear man, I feel like that’s what’s making me not commit...
biske oat same bro... first time i tried a pop shuvit i landed it and didn’t think i would. ofc i slipped out of it and then i haven’t landed another since. today is my day tho...
@@biskeoat9337 same here bro but i decided to start getting looser and bending my knees more and ive felt way more comfortable lately
ty
@@biskeoat9337 idk if youre still finding a hard time committing, but this week i just started maintaining consistent clean rolling ollies after like 2 years of trying to learn and not committing, and what helped me bro with getting over the fear of slipping out was I forced my arms to stay down and low parallel to my body, this caused my shoulders to always remain over the board and parallell with it that made me feel 1000% safer in the air, i hope this might help for anyone
This dude literally listed every problem I’ve ever had 😂
Same
Absolutely. I think the videos that explain the common mistakes are really helpful. Good video.
I’ve always been scared of pop shove it’s cause I would always get shinners but I finally landed one thanks!
My shins are covered in bruises from trying this trick lol
Daniel Min you alright now man?
Noice
Dude, I dented my shin with a pop shove it back in the day... I think I retired right then & there.. Same with heel flips; I got the nose in my crotch when challenged to perform one. I'm taking up skating again, soon, though. I'll show 'em.
Imagine thinking of a pop shuvit as a difficult trick lmfaooo
Instructions unclear, landed a nollie hospital flip
straight up ive landed a few accidental varial heelflips trying to pop shov lmao
😭😭
@@braxtongressett1457 either that or he meant inward heels haha
@@chump8074 no cap jus tried to shuv and legit almost landed a tre
@@D8XID same but i hit my knee and that shit hurt a lot
I can already pop shuvit but they are really messed up so I might as well learn them again
Yeah or practice
i just sharted mid pop shove it and im absolutely lost right now...
😂😂😂
Oh same
That's just unlucky jeez
taco bell
@@thecreator2229 mmm yummy 🤤
I slipped out first time I tried it because I was pretty cocky. Sprained my wirst pretty badly and couldn't move my arm for 2 weeks because I damaged my tendons. After watching I was finally ready to try again. Making good progress I'd say
I always land bad on my wrists. After a while I said fuck it, and started wearing wrist guards for everything except cruising around town.
BONUS TIP: Maybe try it on a deck with no trucks and wheels. Make sure you only use your back foot to scoop even on this! 👍🏽
I sent u a video on insta doin that... remember 😂😂
Skater trainers could also help
Thanks u onesly deserve more subs
I did this just for fun but I didn’t really want to learn it yet because I don’t land Ollie consistently and now the pop shuvit is my favorite trick thx I’m going to sub, much love❤️🛹
@@taranoodtayo those things are terrible it will make it very hard to learn that trick while moving if u use those
Thank you, you literally were my dad in skateboarding you helped me do most of my tricks
Papa Brown
I tried for a hour and then watched This and landed it 2 try thx for the vid
So sick!
i did the same
I have decided to start skating again at 38. I was having trouble with this. And today I landed 2 in a row between getting the kids to school and going to work. I don't have too much time to practice but these videos are helping heaps. I was absolutely cheering. Thank you very much. Next will be the kick flip.
Hell yeah brother!!! I’m 46 in the same boat with 2 boys, 10 & 5. You gave me additional motivation
I want everyone to know today was the day I learned to pop shuv it thank you Sean for getting me on my way to skateboarding!
How’s your journey so far dude?
@@srewux7770 not well man I got Covid which prevented me from skating and broke my daily routine after Covid I had to spend another 2 weeks relearning it before Covid though I was learning how to kick flip drop in and how to 3 shuv man I wish this virus died lol
@@kaboom1077 damn bro that sucks. Hope you learn your tricks 🤙🏽
@@srewux7770 yeah thanks I’ll have to get back into routine but sucks that school is a thing lol
The front foot being a guide and hovering is the one step that reeeallly helped me
wow, this literally helps with all my problems with em, gonna try these tips out tomorrow!
d3luz3 soooo
did u land it dood 😳
MIKAELADONNA yea man i can do em pretty much every time now
Probably Lucas sammee.
I can’t do it and I’ve been trying for like 2 weeks and I had to take a 3 day break bc I fell on the floor and landed really weirdly and pulled a muscle
I like how he shows both foot stances, I dont see anyone else doing that, also first video watching of this guy and that deserves instant sub
Never understood this trick. Watched your tutorial, went out and could instantly pop it. Not even an hour later I get a couple clean and high ones. Thank you
That's so sick!
I’ve seen like 6 videos after 6 hours of trying to pop shuvit and when you said to try it while moving really helped thanks
Nice. I needed this video
Glad to help Mob!
You fixed my pop shuv! I was scooping back but not forward! Your video was the only one I saw that mentioned that. Thank you!
👌🏽🔥
You need to be recognized more cause you really help
Sharing my channel with others helps! 🙏🏽❤️
Ok I said this before I tried because I saw that it would help but I literally landed it within 5 tries. Thanks and I’ll share it with all of my friends!
I appreciate the detail you put into your videos Sean ! Going over all the common mistakes has been so helpful, thank you !
I'm glad it was helpful!
I can do, kickflip, heelflip, bigspin. But i cant du pop-shovit
WHAT
A bigspin is literally a 360 pop shuv with a 180 body varial
That’s such bull shit
@@psilocybe9802 u wanna see
OJ I’m sorry but how can u do a big spin but can’t pop shove
I use to be able to pop shuvit but broke my wrist last time I attempted and I've been scared to do it since but I'm gonna give it a go again, thanks
thank you very much for the tips bro
awesome man, thanks for the tips.. especially the wide legs and the board going behind me!
I've watched only a couple of your tutorials and 100s of other tutorials but you're the only one who gets me. Yours actually work for me. I'm gonna just try your videos first lol.
Well explained Sir! Appreciate
Sub!
Greetings from a 42y old German skater who just got back into this after about 22 years break...
Go Sean!!!!!
😊 I better see a video from you soon!
Best vid yet. Thanks!
Finally uploading yessssssss
Ben Wall Been busy. It’s final exam time for college students. Had 3 tests already this week and have another tomorrow and those aren’t even the final exams
Great tips Sean. When you say "scoop", do you feel like it's more of a flick with your ankle on the tail, in a forward motion? I've noticed that I have more control if I visualize a flicking forward motion as opposed to scooping my foot under and forward. Thoughts?
Thanks man, I love your detailed videos, it's great when you explain "mistakes" that usually occur to people cause it's usually occur to me!! It's great, keep it up!!
I did my first Ollie today like landed it completely tho
Congrats man that’s awesome !!!
👏🏼👏🏼
dope
Dude I'm 36 been skating for 4 months and this video really helped 👍
That really helped the consistency
Thanks! Going over common mistakes is really helping me.
Always happy to help!
I CAN ALREADY FEEL AN IMPROVEMENT TYSM I SUBBED
Awesome!
Just wanted to say the swiping sideways and forward of the back foot thing unlocked this trick for me. Haven’t been able to get from shuvit to pop shuvit until I saw this video. Thanks for this 💖
Awesome!!!
When you said to scoop kinda forward that helped me land my first one thanks🙏
Nice!!
Well done man doing it for the people
This really helped me being able to do pop-shuvs more consistently, big thanks
ive been waiting 4 this one
Mine keep flipping so hard that i landed a varial 😳
that happened to me once but I heel scraped
I almost landed inward heel a couple times
dude literally I've so scared of slipping out and so imma try the stance thingy and the grass thing
just started skating and this tutorial was very good
Glad it helped! I have a more recent POV tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/lD8EtPTruQE/видео.htmlsi=O_ImlYb24kYhFK_l
I love your vida cuz you actually say what you need to work on 🙏
This video helped me so much thanks man
Glad it helped!!
I've done it 6 times now today thank you
This helped a lot thanks
I learned it stationary and haven’t done it in motion, but I feel like doing it stationary really helped me with getting the board forward with my scoop and it might help in motion. Wish me luck trying to do it forward🙏
Yeah but then you gotta learn it all over while moving
Bruh thank you so much!! After this video, I practiced a little and landed my first one and a couple in a row following your tips
lettssss gooo finally he made a vid about this!!!!
DO IT IN THE GRASS FIRST!!!!! I struggled for so long (since i started 2 years ago). I did it today in the grass and landed it. ALSO, try holding onto something and do it
Great tips. Thanks for sharing!
Happy to help out :)
The best video explaining the pop shuv
Perfect tutorial
Covered so many tips other people don’t say thank you!
Tryna help out!
thank you! your videos have the best step by step instructions and are very helpful. Other tutorial videos just kind of say "pop and then land" without going into the nuances that are needed for people learning the trick. (hint: you are wearing the shirt of one such channel lol) Other you tubers seem to forget while it can be an easy trick for them, there are nuances that can make it difficult for new learners. So thanks for taking the time to break it down and give us your personal troubleshooting you went through when learning the trick yourself. keep it up!
Really thoughtful set of tips. Thanks for this video.
Landed my first shove it today, thank you bro ur tips really helped
Very helpful-thx for the vid👊
Omg it makes SENSE!!!!!
bro these are amazing tips, thank you 🙏🏼
Happy to help!
I went back and relearned some of the basics. I noticed, that I kept landing on the nose on Treflips, I just couldn't get the forward pushing motion. What helped me, since I just muscle pushed the forward motion, was learning to get the hips parallel to the back truck. Makes the rotation much easier and you don't need nearly as much force. I never noticed it on the 180 Shove It variations. It started to happen when I tried Treflips and 360 Shove Its.
Also I wouldn't recommend learning them Fakie (maybe to get a little more familiar with the motion) since you don't need to scoop as hard, but normal Shove It's are just a little different in terms of weight distribution (for me at least).
Enjoy yourselfs skating,and don't get hurt. 👍
ur videos are so helpful other channels aren’t as helpful as urs
Make sure to share me to others then 😊
this guy's a hero
I just got back into skating a few days ago. I landed my first pop shuv today hella sketch but better than nothing. your vids are godly thanks Sean 😭🤟🏽
Yo man 1 month has passed u learned it yet😀
Daniel Svidenko I can land it maybe 7 times outta 10 😭 but it’s better than what I was doing before
Dude thank you!! You went over everything and it really helped.
No problem!
Thank you for making this video 🖤🖤🖤 This helped so much 🖤!
Happy to hear that!
I haven’t tried these tips but these tips do seem pretty good
So many tips thanks!
I got you!
And Sean comes in the nick of time. You talk about mistakes and solutions I don't actually hear from others because it could seem pretty obvious. But you're great, man.
Wondering if a no comply 180 may be on the rise?
I have a tutorial on it ruclips.net/video/8AGQuFQ6KFo/видео.html
Thanks for the help I couldn't land this trick
great, thank you!
It's so weird how I could not pop shove it because they would just turn upside down because my front foot wood grip on to skateboard this was happening for years but ever since you said hover your front foot when you Pop's shove it I did a pop shuvit on my first try just because you said hover your foot made it so much easier to do the trick because now my pop shovits don't stick to my front foot any more so BIG THANK YOU TO YOU I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS YOU DESCRIBE EVERYTHING TRICK SO UNDERSTANDABLE
Glad I could make it understandable. That's the goal!
this video actually helped a lot great explanation!
This video did it for me ty
Hell yeah! 🔥
Thank you so much my shuvs were flipping so you helped me fix it
This actually helped so much thank you 🙏🏽
I think scooping forward is a valid point in terms of keeping the board under you for sure, however I did notice that on rougher ground where I skate it tends to primo more compared to scooping heelside more straight and then jump toe side.
Best tutorial out there hands down
Your videos are the best.
For real.
You really covered all the possible mistakes, thanks for this!
😁 that was the goal!
I've only just mastered the shuvit now I'm working on the pop
Love this bro
Just landed my first pop shuvits because of this video. It was the scooping diagonally that helped me land it. Thank you so much!
Omg u finally fixed my shuvits after 2 YEARS of skating 😭
That's what's up!
Thanks man it really help because every time my board flip but after this video for sure I will land it best video ever!!
After this video I just landed one thank you so much
Bruh you are literally the best lowkey, like you give the most detail into this and now it’s way more easier, keep it up bro 🔥🔥💯
Ayy im early!! I haven’t even clicked on the video yet but I still know is gonna be good.
Your neighbors grass looks good all the watering is paying off 🤣
Out of nowhere my pop shuvs had started flipping. I've been able to do em for a long time, but i recently got a wider board. Thank you for teaching me to pop shuv correctly again :)
So I did what u said and I was just practicing with my front foot and I was going to go inside and said let’s try a pop shove it I did it fucking first try
Hell yeah!
Literally the first tip was what I was missing, thank you so much!!! 🙏
Thanks u deserved a sub nice work bruh i stuck with this trick for a month
Thanks so much!
Excellent brah!!!🤙🏻
i knew you’d help me figure out why it kept flipping over
How is it possible that I am doing ALL of those wrong things?? :D
Thanks for the tips. The "landing with only one foot" is the major problem for me. Will try your tips, will report back :D
