Oh WOW! What a gorgeous finish! Congratulations on your hard work! Thank you for sharing your linen journey Nicola! I began in the 80's and I'm not sure they even stitched on linen back then? Took a break to try other crafts but returned perhaps two years ago. What advances the cross-stitch craft has made!! I'm house-sitting and binge watching you Nicola!
How nice it's been to hear the journey you have both taken with silk thread. I've stitched for 30 years and live in hope of getting to stitch with silk one day. I find its vibrancy very beautiful it really does make your designs sing.
I will firstly say I am very proud of my lovely wife’s needlework, it always amazes me the amount of care and love that goes into every piece of work and the connections that are made with you all. I promise that when we travel to Cornwall in the future I will remove some of my fishing equipment so that Susan can fit in her new sewing machine. 😁 I’m sure Susan will be very comfortable sitting on the roof bars with the Kayak 🤣 Loved the video and it’s great that so many people ‘join you’ in your lovely home Nicola for the chats. ❤️🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🦀🦀🦀🦀😁
Wonderful visit, ladies! Thank you so much for letting me sit in on your needlework discussion. Having Scottish ancestry myself, I so enjoyed hearing about Sue's visit to Scotland and the impact it has had on her stitching. I have yet to stitch a Scottish sampler, but it's definitely on my list. And Sue, your work is absolutely beautiful!
Nicola and Susan, this was so enjoyable and I loved the information on AuVerASoie...it has always been my favorite silk. Susan, your Sarah is just stunning! You are an inspiration to us all! Thank you for making this video.
Loved listening to both of you ladies! I very much enjoyed Sue's story about her Old Scot Sampler...I had a tear in my eye. Very beautiful Sarah finish!
Congrats Sue and so nice to meet you! Your Sarah is beautiful and will be so lovely to display in your home. I will get mine finished one day! Thanks Nicola for an informative video as you always do😊 Love the silks too and will try the 100.3 sometime. Thanks gals!
Thank you so much for allowing me to listen in on your lovely visit with Susan. I always stitch alone and you’re right - i didn’t feel so isolated “visiting” with you two.
Your talk with your friend was wonderful to listen to! Thank you for sharing - and that is very sweet that your husband shows off your samplers even when you're not there.
What a lovely visit! I think you mentioned Belgian nuns stitching. I went to a girls school in Manila that was run by Belgian ICM nuns. Needlework was a required class, cross stitch, embroidery, smocking, crochet, knitting, needlepoint and sewing. I remember Sr. Maria teaching us in seventh grade and the highlight was needlepoint on Royal Paris canvases. Your work brings back all these wonderful memories. Thank you.
Sue and Nicola, it was so wonderful to see you both! It brought back happy memories of the wonderful Bathya workshop in Cumbria last November. I am in awe of Sarah Brazier, Sue, and and Nicola, can't wait to see your new releases. Like Sue, I have too many! I also have Bathya on the back burner but there are so many other temptations! Harriet will be next for me.
Frances Grassby .....can't wait for it to come out.....love at first sight !! Thank you for all the video's you put out, and all the knowledge you share.
Hi Nicola & Sue... It was lovely visiting with you ... my husband takes his fishing stuff and I take my x stitching with us on holiday and our walking gear...last year Dennis caught a trout for his dinner on Loch Long. The lady that owned the cottage said this was a first so she took a photo to show what you can catch... I don't think I would get a sewing machine in our car... :) I have only made i small quilt for our great niece when she was born.... enjoy your lunch and walk... Happy stitching.. xx Louisa.. ps.. I have been stitching oot the back garden today as the sun has been shining all day... housework can wait...
Nicola maybe someday you can give us a short video peek of your town and cottages. I would love that. I have a very dear friend who spent her early married days in Cornwall and I think the most elderly of the family passed a few years ago. The cottage was left to her son but I don't know if he still has retained ownership.
Lovely visiting with you while I'm stitching Isabella Uffindell today. It was interesting to hear that you Lace and frame your work yourself! It would be wonderful to see the process you go through to do all this. Perhaps you could consider putting together a video of you lacing and framing?
I am the same way with my quilting. I like to do my quilting and stitching, from start to finish, myself. I now need to learn to stretch and frame my stitching myself. Goals! Thanks for sharing ladies. 😘❤️
Can you recommend a good scroll frame? I am looking to get one due to the size of some samplers I want to do but have heard more bad than good about the tension on scroll frames and such. Thanks in advance!
What a lovely video. I had the same thoughts when I visited John at Needleneeds. I was just itching to sort his admin out. Could I just ask please about the beautiful Frances Grassby sampler you are stitching? Is it a chart you purchased or is it a piece you are going to release in the future?
@@nicolaparkman Thank you Nicola, I can hardly wait! Not sure I'm looking forward to reading her sad story though but I should imagine it will make her sampler all the more poignant.
yes I am awaiting my frame, its been almost 4 months. Hoping it won't be too much longer but many have told me not to hold my breath. I am trying to be patient
Karen Sheridan - hang on in there Karen ! I ordered my frame in February & it arrived this week & it was well worth the wait. Hope it won't be too much longer for you. Christine Rogerson
The sampler is Sarah Braizear. She was a limited edition chart and I have sold out but I know that Sassy Jacks Stitchery and The Attic Needleworks have a few copies left.
@@nicolaparkman I found the chart at my local shop, In Stitches in Alexandrian, Virginia. Of course, it followed me home. Now to plan how to get all the supplies since it would be wonderful to do it with silk thread.

Fabulous idea for a needlework natter and thank you for letting us ‘join in’ 😍.
Just beautiful work. When you said you would show Sue how to lace your stitching, I said a prayer that you would bring us along to see as well.
Hello you two! Thanks for keeping my mind busy today while I'm at work doing some very mundane tasks! Always enjoy the needlework natters!! 🌷🌷🌷

I’m wondering what model of the daylight magnifier you use…they sell a few different ones…some that are quite expensive.

Tina Bush - Frances will be a release for Hands Across the Sea Samplers. Her story is so sad I was sobbing as I was researching her.
