I was delighted to watch this video as I am currently working on this sampler Nicola and really enjoying it. I find it a very relaxing and calming sampler to stitch and I love to think there is a connection of some kind with Louisa. That little bit about the missing stitch in the heart motif really touched me. Thank you again for all your hard work in researching these samplers and bringing them to life again. Warm Regards Christine
Another wonderful video Nicola...those children were so lucky to be admitted to the orphanage! The records are such a great reference for the samplers. My heart did lurch when you said "children born in wedlock"....there were likely many that didn`t qualify, poor little mites...I have been watching Victorian Slum House, and the conditions that children lived in in London were atrocious! This would have been heaven in contrast I would think...
britstitch In later decades, when the number of orphans reduced as living conditions improved for the population in general, some of the entry rules were relaxed.
Hi Jacqueline and Nicola !! ❤️ Your video together is wonderful. You both have inspired and enabled me to place a huge order from HATS !! I will start on Louisa when she arrives. Her story is amazing. Hugs and happy stitching. 😊

Thank you Carolyn for your kind words and support. Louisa is in many hearts through her needle work. It is such a wonderful way to remember her.
It is so good to know the story behind a sampler. "Louisa" in one colour only is a sampler I would like to do!
Thank you for this wonderful video!
Hello. I’m watching this video some two years later and wondering what is the sampler that Jacquie was going to stitch next as a model ?
Gosh I cannot remember know, I think it was Jenefer Gilbert.
