Can’t wait to see the new Queen Of May Sampler Nicola;) I’m so happy to own your reproduction charts and the booklets are stunning! Have my order in with the Attic;) Love the scissors and hoping for Mother’s Day I will get the hare pair😁 Thanks for being so lovely!
Your scissors are lovely and you deserve the extravagance no explanation needed! It’s your livelihood and your hobby! Can’t wait to see the new Queen of the May! ❤️
Hi Nicola, I am so happy to have found your videos. Love all of your goodies that you have shown. The sampler that the 6 year old little girl stitched is absolutely stunning! You are a fantastic designer! Liz and I ( country stitchers) have been a fan of yours for many years. I wish you well and happy stitching. ❤️Deb
Both your new samplers are lovely and what incredible stitching for just 6yrs old! I'm very excited to see the two new releases, and Bertie Boo is adorable :D
I love that you are in Cornwall. My husband & I were there from California last May and fell in love with that part of England. I also love watching your videos. So well done and all of your samplers are beautiful. I think the smaller of the new releases will be just what I want to start my sampler journey. Thank you for showing us all your tools...those scissors are gorgeous! Bertie looks like such a sweet boy...nice to lay at your feet while stitching.
I so love visiting your youtube. I don’t yet have a Hands Across the Sea Sampler pattern but am anxious to add one to my collection. Maybe one of your new ones coming out will be the perfect one. The new scissors you acquired are beautiful!
Lovely video Nicola! I splurged last year after seeing your scissors and bought me a pair...sister Cari did too...our mother taught us well! Hahaha! I've preordered your Queen of the May...I know it's just going to be fabulous!! Thank you for spending the time to make wonderful videos to share! 💕💕💕
I was struck by the sampler you showed that was stitched by a six year old girl. My son will be six next week and I’m not sure I trust him with scissors! You also remind me a bit of my father - he retired ten years ago from his career and started farming. Now he’s busier than ever ( and happier too). You may have the same type of personality- needing to do something at all times. I’m just glad you have chosen what you do!
Thanks so much for another lovely video. I love what you said about purchasing the scissors--we deserve these sweet little gifts in life. I can't wait to see this year's Queen of the May! I so appreciate the time and effort you put into your samplers. I also appreciate your helpfulness and responsiveness when I have messaged you with my many Sarah questions on FB messenger. Take care, Sue T.
Oh, Nicola, what wonderful stitching. Headed out the door with Mr. Chewbacca. He has certainly been showing off during this video. Enjoy your lovely home.
I use leftover linen to make greetings cards. Little squares cross-stitched with a motive, leave the ragged edges and stick to a card. Also pin cushions backed with velvet.
Lovely video and I will be watching that cushion tutorial. I share your passion for scissors and those are beautiful! When you said, "I don't drink, I don't smoke...." I immediately thought of Rizzo in Grease saying, "I don't drink, I don't swear, I don't rat my hair...." Well, neither do we so we can buy scissors! Bertie is gorgeous!
Love your cushions! I saw a pair of the French scissors last year at Celebrations Of Needlework in Nashua NH. Jackie from It's Finely Finished let me try them!! They were just gorgeous and felt so nice! If I ever win the lottery, I think I would buy a pair of them!😊♥️ The silks you showed are just beautiful. I love the depth of color.
I just finished Eliza Bell Cox, she was such fun to do. I enjoyed each stitch ( well maybe not the one over one). Taking a break and doing a Wedding Sampler for my son then starting Jennifer Gilbert.
SIX YEARS OLD?!?!?!? I'm 25, been stitching for three years, and yet I only have a handful of finishes...I feel ashamed haha. I'm very excited for the Queen of May design for this year! I believe I have a copy reserved for me from the store I plan on purchasing from! I'm hoping to work on Hariet Hartland a little bit more for the month of April, and she may just be the project I take with me to my retreats this year. I would love to have at least one HATS finish by year's end haha. Lovely video as always, Nicola. I always get very giddy when I see you have uploaded a new video, and I always anticipate the sampler goodies you'll show :)
She had an excellent teacher. I will bet she had a treasure of stitched examples of every stitch. I am glad I did not have to face Grandmother with that sampler. No, I was not with my Grandmother long enough to be a Sampler
Afternoon Nicola... Beautiful scissors... and samplers... Love your cushions too... Now I wonder what these new samplers will look like... I have spent me pennies just bought a new sewing machine.. A Gemini... it has purple on it... only a couple o days till next month... :) Happy stitching.. enjoy your walk.. xx Louisa...
The new sampler is lovely. The colors are bright and cheerful. Look forward to seeing it reproduced. What about the Bristol sampler? I am watching for it.
Hi Nicola, enjoyed your video. Please put chicken wire or a chimney cowl on your chimney so that the birds can't get down your chimney or build a nest in the top. You have a beauriful home and I can't bare to think of the damage soot would do. We have had the same and if they get out the bottom and fly around the room, the mess is unbelievable x
Irene every year we replace the wire but the battle with the seagulls and the rooks is ongoing. Our chimneys are swept each April and new wire is put on as soon as the sweep finishes.
Oh my goodness, are the seagulls doing that because they are thinking of nesting in your chimneys? We live in North Devon and every year the seagulls sit on our chimney and chatter about nesting there but fortunately they decide it's not quite right for them. I'm so sorry you have this problem.
Your scissors are just beautiful. Could you provide information on how one might purchase similar scissors? I am a needle pointer and just think these would be perfect! Thank you. Love your relationship you have with your puppy.
Bertie is adorable .I sadly lost my boxer a number of years ago but they are a fabulous breed . I'm wondering if you have tried DeVereyarns silks from the UK and how they compare . I follow them on Instagram but yet to try them .
Quick question Nicola. Do you use the Soie 100/3 thread in place of the Soie d'Alger in the samplers you stitch? I notice you seem to prefer your spools.
Colleen McLaughlin it depends on the count of the linen I am using and the colours needed in the project. The 100.3 range that is available to purchase runs to the 200’s but the d”Alger is far more.
Do you mind if I ask why you are planning on not reproducing the sampler with the two trees that was stitched by the girl that was only six? As I think it is just such a wonderful piece and would be so beautiful to stitch.
Hi Nicola, I would love to make one of your sampler, but I can’t go any smaller than 28 count, do you have any like that, or can they be stitched on any count, x
Margaret Hastings you should stitch on the count you are comfortable with. All our booklets come with a range of linen sizes listed.enjoy browsing our selection.
Hallo! What is the name of the scissors, and how can I compare your way of the name of the linnen, with our way, we say “so many x by the cm”. When you say 40 count, what do you mean by that? 🙏 thank you
Hello Nicola, I hope you enjoyed your little break away. I always enjoy your videos and love looking at your amazing work. Will the Queen of May sampler be available for sale on your website? I'm asking because as I live in Australia it's very difficult to get patterns here. We also don't have many stores to buy them from. If possible I would love to reserve/pre-order a copy. I just recently won an auction on ebay for your beautiful Uffindell sister's sampler pattern and it will have to be my birthday present to myself for possibly the next 30 years (I paid GBP 320.00!!!!!). Looking forward to your next video.

K2 Needleworks send me an email
Will do. Thank you.
I absolutely love Elizabeth Pierce. Gorgeous! I wish you would reconsider reproducing her. The work is stunning and amazing a 6 year old stitched it.
Hi Nicola, panic over, finally got order placed, and on its way, can’t wait to start it, but can you please tell me what NPI threads are, thank you,
Margaret Hastings your order is already at the Post Office. NPI needlework point inc you can get them in the UK
Nicola, Bertie looks like my Belle! He is so beautiful! 😍😍😍
Bertie is adorable .I sadly lost my boxer a number of years ago but they are a fabulous breed . I'm wondering if you have tried DeVereyarns silks from the UK and how they compare . I follow them on Instagram but yet to try them .
I have never heard of those silks before. I am sorry you lost your boxer. They are so precious.
Quick question Nicola. Do you use the Soie 100/3 thread in place of the Soie d'Alger in the samplers you stitch? I notice you seem to prefer your spools.

Hello 40ct is 40 threads to the inch. The scissors are made by Jean-Marie Roulot

Angela Gioia I listed her for pre-order tonight as I was having so many emails.
Hi Nicola, Is there the ability to make PDFs of your sampler patterns?
Debbie I am sorry but we do not issue .pdfs. A huge part of our samplers is that booklet and all that comes within it.
Oh my Bertie Boo /- apologies on the spelling. He looks likes one of Chewbacca’s friends.
No, Chewbacca barely allows me to go to the grocery.
