  • Hello everyone, this is Judy from Nutrition with Judy. Today, I want to share a bit about what's in store for 2024 and how I'm planning to evolve the carnivore content on my channel. My journey as a passionate advocate for the carnivore diet has been both enlightening and transformative, and I'm excited to bring you along on this = journey.
    Episode Highlights:
    - Reflecting on My Carnivore Journey: I've been deeply involved in the carnivore community, sharing stories, expert interviews, and content aimed at helping those seeking root cause healing from chronic illness.
    - Addressing the Complexity of the Carnivore Diet: As I've progressed, I realized my content became more nuanced, perhaps too advanced for beginners. This episode is about simplifying and returning to the basics for those just starting.
    - Launching a Beginner's Carnivore Book: I'm thrilled to announce the release of a beginner's guide to the carnivore diet. This book is a step-by-step guide for anyone looking to start their journey.
    - Real Talk on Diet and Healing: I'll share my insights on why it's okay to start with grain-fed meats from your local grocery store and how healing can be accessible and realistic for everyone. (What?! I know, that’s what I said.)
    - The Power of Community and Support: Our carnivore group offers a supportive community, including challenges and accountability partners. I'm a big believer in the power of community in our healing journeys.
    - Balancing Real Life with Dietary Goals: It's about finding a practical balance between striving for an optimal diet and being compassionate with ourselves on days that aren't perfect.
    Closing Thoughts:
    I firmly believe in the healing power of an all-meat diet and the importance of focusing on root cause healing. My goal is to empower you to make dietary choices that fit your life and health needs.
    As we step into 2024, I'm dedicated to providing content that is not only educational but also empowering, helping you find your unique path in the carnivore way of life. Stay tuned for more real talk, practical tips, and community support.
    Thank you for tuning in to this episode. Remember to subscribe for more insights and tips on the carnivore diet. Welcome to root-cause healing!

    A little feedback from one of your fans. I was on thyroid medication for 25 years. After watching your interview with Dr. David Brownstein last year, I added iodine to my diet and deleted the medication. After 6 months, my thyroid numbers T3, T4, and TSH are now all in the normal range and iodine has a very positive effect on my mental alertness. Thanks for digressing into that area!

      That's awesome. Did you add only iodine or did you follow the protocol? Was it iodized salt or lugols (how much)? I can't stand how the medical tries to scare you out of doing anything for your thyroid and only wait until it's so messed up they can start offering surgery, radioactive iodine and nothing else...

    • @nickjohnson811
      @nickjohnson811 5 месяцев назад +4

      @@Valoric I started with Lugol's 2% solution, and ramped up from 1 to 5 drops before switching to a 12.5 mg capsule. Initially my TSH went way up, but I saw that Dr. Brownstein said that could happen initially as your body adjusts to getting enough iodine. Now it is back in the normal range. I asked my GP why doctors didn't test for or suggest iodine supplementation before prescribing synthroid. He smiled and said it was a good question.

    Hi Judy! Thank you for all you do and share with us. I tried carnivore for six months and it really worked for me and with all my autoimmune issues. Then, I stopped and all my issues returned plus the weight gain. I know carnivore really works and I never felt better when I was doing it but it’s so easy to fall. I just told myself, I need to get back on track and stick with it. It’s the hardest thing just to get started again but I know it must be done in order for me not to feel the way I do on a daily basis. This is exactly what I needed to hear today! Thank you! 😊

      Having the right environment (less triggers) and the right community matters a lot. Doing Carnivore alone makes it harder and doing it as "perfect' as the first time is always more difficult. Maybe you don't have to be perfect carnivore to see a reduction of symptoms. Sometimes the all-or-nothing mindset really hurts people. Happy 2024 and I hope you find further healing this year.

      Try to get your fat consumption up to 200g per day. That will reduce your cravings like nothing else can. You might also consider doing a candida cleanse. Many people who think they have "a sweet tooth" are actually completely infested with candida, which controls their taste buds for its own benefit.

    Thank you, Judy, for these words of encouragement. I’ve been on carnivore for over 2 years now and I am healing by simply eating grain finished beef, etc. Not only can I not afford the more expensive cuts of meat, I actually don’t like the taste of grass finished beef. Guess that’s a good thing in my case! My biggest frustration is really wanting sometimes to experience a rib-eye with lots of fat, but having to settle for less. I also struggle with eating enough protein/fat. At my age (70), I’m just don’t always want to make myself eat enough. Nevertheless, I’m amazed at how much better I feel than when I started carnivore. So happy to hear of your faith as well. Amazing, too, how God has provided healing and health through meat! ❤

    But... I'm here for the "level 500 content". There is already a LOT of carnivore beginner content getting repeated over and over by famous carnivores and I've stopped following those channels because it got so repetitive. Maybe you can create short beginner "capsules" and organize them into a playlist for 2024, aimed at attention-deficit beginners (and let's be honest, few youtubers organize their content in logical playlists).
    I just feel there is a LOT more lacking in the level 500 content for carnivores and honest root-cause deep dives, and you were one of my rare niches for this type of content. I hope you keep this 1hr long form content sprinkled throughout 2024.
    Edit: I own your Carnivore Cure (1st edition) book and it is a great reference book to consult constantly. Do you have a 2nd edition planned as mentioned before, or is your most recent book that "2nd edition" version?

    • @NutritionwithJudy
      @NutritionwithJudy  5 месяцев назад

      haha I love it. Trust me the level 500 will still be around. We already have many hour-long interviews with top guests. We have one on sleep I've been needing to do forever. We will share more Carnivore content that is more beginners and real talk sprinkled into what we already do. And the nuance-- Carnivore Cure v2 (name will change as I've evolved a lot in my beliefs). But It will have all the nuance you need (hopefully!) My vision for the book is the step by step manual of levers to use and pull to get to root-cause healing. And starting with Carnivore Cure's elimination diet will be the key piece in starting, and then considering other root-cause levers we've seen support our clients and patients. I need to research a few more rabbit holes before I'm ready to release... I'll be here still supporting our chronically ill community. ❤ (Ps. The new book released today is a beginner's guide and likely not for you but I still call it a win because I brought mold and CIRS!)

    Thank you for this informative video! I made a very gradual transition from high-carb to low-carb, then what is typically keto, then ketovore, and now to Carnivore. I never thought in a million years that I would be able to put carbs and sugar behind me! I'm so grateful that I was able to do that, though. I found Dr. Berry's videos helpful about eating the meat you can afford. Although I do purchase grass-fed beef occasionally, it's not feasible financially to eat all grass-fed beef. Once I left carbs and sugar behind, I now have a far greater appreciation for how good beef and other meats taste! I haven't healed 100% after a year, which is no surprise -- I came into this knowing that healing after four decades of destructive eating will take time. I used to be intimidated by comments about the "rules," such as "this or that is not allowed on Carnivore." I just let those pass by now -- I know I'm on the right path, and that, to me, is what matters.
    Thanks so much for all of the valuable information you provide.

      YES! You have the right mindset to heal and thrive! Healing takes time and the journey is what makes us so resilient. It's in the journey we learn so much about ourselves and what we need to enjoy life. SO many of us want to heal yesterday and we think the more perfect we are, the more healing we'll get faster. But it doesn't work that way and that level of stress makes us more apt to fail. Keep going and I'm looking forward to your healing! ❤

Trying to recover from the stroke still have things to work on.the doctors want me to have a cardiac catheterization I'm unsure if it's necessary..they put me on baby aspirin and Plavix
    So I'm going to continue carnivore...I'm guessing my stroke would've had worse outcomes if i hadn't changed my woe

    I've had so much healing from carnivore, but I've backed off a lot on the RUclips content because of CIRS. So many people are simply unaware of how CIRS affects how you need to go about your carnivore journey. I've gotten so much healing from carnivore, but the focus by most carnivores on the symptoms rather than the root cause is just because they either don't know about CIRS, or they dismiss it as something only "those people" have. Now that we know covid can trigger CIRS (and it sure made mine a lot worse!) we should consider that the known proportion of the population estimated to have CIRS is probably a much larger number than current models indicate, but that crisis levels of exposure may have reached a boiling point. Case in point, I lived in a moldy environment for years before my CIRS was first triggered, and the result of that triggering was Reactive arthritis that resolved itself within a year while I was still living in the same house and still eating a bad diet. I converted to a vegetarian diet while still living in the same house and still felt what I thought was relatively good health. I had a series of moves to different places over the course of 10 years and by the time I came back to the original house, my health had already started to decline, but again, it was a few years or returning to that place that the hammer fell and I became incapacitated. That was 10 years ago. I moved out of that house 5 years ago and immediately got worse. My haplotype says I am sensitive to any and all biotixins and I received two haplotypes for this sensitivity, most likely one from each parent. My siblings have all had their health issues, but they dismiss them as "old age" issues, even though my brother lived in the first house for 66 years!
    So, yes, our bodies are resilient, CIRS is not just something "those people" get, our bodies want to be healthy and react to what we feed it, but also who knows how long it actually takes for the gene to get activated that causes CIRS? And who knows exactly how CIRS will manifest itself? I don't think there can ever be any RCTs to answer those questions. Living our lives as fully, and as healthy as possible is probably always going to depend on eating carnivore, but I have no doubt even those of us with CIRS can eventually get to a place where birthday cake won't trigger an autoimmune flare or MCAS flare or POTS flare. At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Thank you Judy for your truly WHOLE-istic approach to nutrtion.

    I wish you would address the pitfalls of going Carnivore, i.e. the Keto flu, but how about oxalate dumping, rashes, itching, skin irritation, psoriasis, weird dandruff, et al. No one really addresses these issues, nor do they address how to heal from these attacks. Why not? They are very real. I had what I'd call perfect skin and complexion, great hair and scalp, then I went full blown carnivore and even I don't recognize what's happened to me. I have not quit carnivore, but this skin crap is horrible to contend with. Can't wait to see your new 2024 direction. Be healthy, stay safe and many blessings, Morgan.

      Yes! The overwhelm is very real. Focus on one thing at a time to make healing easier. To heal every single thing from the very beginning is so difficult. I used to have to focus on win ONE days. As long as I win a meal, then a day, then I'm healing. It's the small wins that can bring so much healing. You don't have to be perfect, you have to be consistent and that's the hardest truth to accept. I hope 2024 brings more healing with Carnivore!

    @robert2b2 5 месяцев назад

    Judy, I love your content and you're one of my most recommended channels. Here's my view on starting out, the idea of reintroduction and such:
    We should see simplicity as a great thing and not something to be gotten around like a video game cheat code. If something isn't required, don't eat, or drink it. That it won't have obvious negative effects within a day or two doesn't mean that it won't in the weeks, months, or years to come. People seem so bent on getting around science that it often looks like they're paying lip service to being truly concerned with their long-term health when in fact all they're doing is lying to themselves. I understand that although I can be very strict with myself, I know that many others can't be. It's our job to inspire, encourage and support these others as they gain strength and steam in their journey towards an optimal diet and many of your videos have been instrumental in that effort so I thank you for them. Have a great 2024 and good luck with the book, which I plan on getting a copy of.

    Thank you Judy for this update on your channel content for this year, I think it will be the perfect format. I am currently reading your new book, and although don't feel I am a beginner with carnivore, I do feel that this will help me maybe reset a bit with the New Year, and get back to beginner basics. Your book is beautiful and the content is very well presented. After 5+ months on carnivore, I have noticed some meat aversion episodes lately, with lack of hunger and appetite. I would be interested in more information on how to handle this issue, as it's a challenge to eat enough or feel well, when this happens. I'm not sure if I should fast thru this until I am hungry, or try to get protein in regardless. My personal macros still seem to be one of my biggest questions. I think it's easier for me to eat more protein than fat. I do have thyroid autoimmune, so really want my carnivore diet to be long term for my overall wellness and healing, and I know it may not always be easy. Thank you for all you do for the carnivore space.

    This book sounds great, just what I was looking for!
    Can you please talk about meat aversion on the carnivore diet?
    I am ok with moderating, keeping it low carb or even keto on most days, but after a few of weeks or so I just feel my appetite is generally lower and I just cannot even think of eating any more meat, especially fatty meat. I learned from you that undereating is not good for me (50 yrs, woman) so I don't know what to do additionally to electrolytes and MCT. Usually the meat aversion causes me to venture to other options such as dairy, almond flour tortillas, or even just plain corn flakes.

    Yes, I totally agree. We have to do the best we can whether that be shopping at the Farmer's Market or the corner grocery store. Whatever we can stick to.

      Whatever allows us to be consistent is key-- not what allows us to be perfect. There is no such thing as perfect and only makes us fail in our journey to heal.

    Grass fed has little fat which I had understood is beneficial. Confusing. I raise my own lamb and it’s not clear if I should finish on corn.

      I would do what helps you feel the best. Consider trying a A/B test. Raise some lamb without corn, raise some with. And see how you feel. You can always add other fats with your grass finished lamb. We see our clients do it all the time. Hope you find your answer soon!

    100% you can heal on grain fed meat. Decades ago, people went on low carb diets to heal things like Crohn's and did not even hear about grass or grain fed. They just ate home cooked meat.

    was wondering if the group would be helpful to me, i have many sensitivities along with some other issues, i have been carnivore strict since July of 2023 i started slow from October of 2022 i went through many things with my health during that time but felt improvements then something turned i went for blood work and i have never been prediabetic my a1c was a 5.8 my total cholesterol was 467!... my bun was high you get my point. i just want to quit but i think there is something to it but i hit a wall. i was down to salt beef and water. seeing muscle testing for help and they do the blood work as well, but they said i tested bad for meat! what do you do with that? i am at a loss, coming from starving myself with vegetables only to this.. i have to be missing something? i have been looking for help for years! i thought this was going to help, not sure how to troubleshoot this problem. maybe someone will see this and respond in a helpful direction.
