I fell upon this video by accident, and I have to say, the slight comedic personality but knowledgeable insight is like no other. This is a video I feel I could show my 5 year old and he would legitimately learn. Awesome video. Great content. Kudos 👍
Be grateful he wasn't your science teacher. This video is riddled with completely incorrect information and absurd graphics that are both inaccurate and completely non-sensical.
Keep more coming maybe an episode on compounds of tires , soft tires, hard all season tires, racing compound tires, or benefits of direct injection fuel injector over regular injection
I LITERALLY just did a research paper on how race cars and airplanes effect the modern car's development. And about half of it was dedicated to Hall and the areo cars. Where was this 3 weeks ago😂😂😂
These are seriously some of the best videos on this website and my personal favorites. Entertaining yet interesting. MASSIVE probs to Donut and the crew!!!
except that would mean it is for cosmetic only and not performance.. You just learned on this video how those aero parts you think are "rice" and do nothing that plenty of people and every racer spends thousands on practically do help performance. Yes it has to be balanced etc, but to say that aero is "rice" only and not performance your just being ignorant. If you think that some people that mod their don't take their cars they drive on the road to the track , you are also very wrong... The whole point of this is for performance, not to mention when you want more performance without ruining reliability etc, or are staying NA. these are crucial for bettering your lap times. Have you seen time attack cars that have insane aero and change it up and make it more insane every year and are getting better and better times every year? lol....
I am quite young so it is very important for me and i hope it is for you too that you make videos and even small children can learn about those crazy things with a really enjoyable way. Thank you guys a lot
A few things. Downforce isn't measured in G's. It is measured in kilos or pounds. G-force is the acceleration that the driver experiences while they are in the car. This force can pull at them in different axis (i.e. Gx (front-to-back), Gy (side-to- side), or Gz (head-to-toe) (Potcanowicz & Mendel 2013, p. 570). The best examples of under body downforce are the Lotus 79 (which uses ground effect) and the Brabham BT46B (which used a fan better than the Chapparal 2J).
There must be thousands of videos on the internet trying to explain car's aerodynamics in layman's terms, I finally understood the reason for Side skirts and those scales on the roof. Thanks, Bart, and Donut.
Whoa. I knew aerodynamics was pretty complicated, but air dayum. I didnt realize there were So many different car parts made to take advantage of air flow. Majestic
i was actually watching this video while designing my college portfolio lmao, i wanted my projects to be practical also, top content from donut as usual
I feel like someone is sleeping in the next room and Bart has to be super quiet while he presents this segment. Maybe it’s ducks? Ducks are in the next room for sure... also Up to speed on Alfa Romeo.
Bernoulli's aero horse cart "ODD DUCK" won all the races, canards were named in honor of that, French for duck. Some Priuses have a NACA duct shaped roof.
The Chevrolet opala, not to be confused with the impala, was a Brazilian only muscle car powered by a 4 liter inline 6, it was faster than the Ford maverick, sold in Brazil as well, which was powered by boss 302 also found in the mustang.
DeVan Helmoski oh, well I was replying to the guy in the comments saying “it doesn’t”. But anyway, toe and camber effect the angle in which the tires are pointed. Toe in let’s the wheels be pointed inwards which puts force on the center of the car, allowing for better cornering as the tires don’t have to turn as much going around a corner. Outward does the opposite TDLR; Negative Toe points inward and is better for conering. Positive toe points outward and is better for straight line stability. From what I understand camber and toe are very alike but feel free to correct me (corrections, camber changes the angle of the wheels tilt, while toe changes if they point in or out, they both have like effects)
You want air going under the rear wing not over the top of it. Vortex generators keep the air flow attached to the rear window and coaxes the air under the wing creating a low pressure area that "sucks" the car down onto the road. The bottom of the rear wing plays a much bigger role than the top of the wing in creating down force
I love Donut❤❤❤ the only youtube page that makes you eager to watch and learn!!!For real youll notice your likes and my like notifications!!!Keep your esp the one reviewing those cars the 'chubby beardy one'🤣😅
this comment probably won’t make it to anyone important but i’m an aviation major (as in i’m learning nothing about cars) and this channel has already helped me out in two of my classes. i feel like a karen learning that pizza is the spanish word for pizza and freaking out over how similar the two languages are.
This video sounded like it was sponsered by DOWNFORCE.
Nope it's sponsored by lift.
Definitely sponsored by wind
*sad skillshare noices*
Yeah! It did sound like that! It is not though.
@@loralynneevans9769 it is sponsored by pressure
Never knew there is so much aerodynamics in a car. Huge respect for people who design cars !
Huge disrespect for people who design/engineer cars, from those of us who repair cars. 🤣
@@VencedorGamer oh yeah!!
This is the only youtube channel where I watch the sponsor bit of the video cause its awesome.
He’s talking to me like I’m a 5 year old but I can’t even be mad because I have a 5 year old level of understanding of aerodynamics…
