Looks pretty good Mitch! Can you show how to do a marble paint and they add a clear epoxy top coat? I really want to see my finished work on my bathroom countertop and the just add the clear epoxy. Then I hope to use the epoxy to create the marble look in the kitchen.
Love the colors and final product. Want to try the same. However, your counter top starts off beige so the colors blend with it. My counter top is PINK!! Should I paint it beige first then roll on the wanted colors? Ty
I wanna try that and try using some Stone Spray as a final layer for the tiny specs left behind, that might look super sweet! Thanks for the great comment
You sure can to both questions! You'd have great results on the sink bowl using a small sponge rather than a big roller like I used here. Here is a video I made going over old cultured marble: ruclips.net/video/E-k7-WmgwHE/видео.html Let me know if you have any questions
If you can try and shim up from underneath the countertops to bring the counters to level. If you can't, you can do a thinner coat where the countertop is out of level and let it dry overnight. Sand the leading edge of the epoxy to feather that transition and sand the epoxy. Now do your undercoat and pour the top this should help a ton to keep from the colors running to the out of level section. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.
I'm wondering 🤔 how a guitar pickguard would look with epoxy on it. Like a flying v pickguard or even doing a guitar with this stuff might be nice. I dont like the colors picked personally but I do enjoy your videos on this channel.
Love this method. What about a painted marble look? Possibility? Also, my counters are a laminated particle board and very old. Over time they have become slightly uneven (bowed). Will this be a problem with the self leveling epoxy?
It can be when applying color in the epoxy, this style we put clear epoxy on but if bowed really bad the self leveling epoxy may be thin on the bow and additional coats may be needed. Try to get the bow out with shims from underneath
In those vertical slabs in back, there's one that is black, white, grey and a few spots of a light blue. It's on the left side of the screen. I'm wondering if there's a video of that being made.
It looks really cool like desert stone. It doesn’t really look like the granite you showed as an example as I feel it’s colors are far too uniform and the specks of paint are too small. Maybe it needed some black splatters or something on it. It does look cool, just not a reasonable replacement for the design that was used as an example
How do you get the sponge to lk like granite has been made rather than painted like the one in this video? Can you buy like it is it do you have to cut sections out of the roller yourself?
Great questions Jo Jo! I picked up this pre made roller from the home depot in the paint department. I'll leave some links on some I've used from amazon also, they work hecka easy!
