    On the one you said take more wraps me as a rope guy i would have only taken a half maybe one wrap. The rope man knows better how the rigging works best for a particular situation. Trust the man running the rope. I went from ground to climber and know how stressful it can be.

    That's a great way to make a retrievable srt anchor. at first I was questioning the validity of the bowline on a bight cause you cant pass the knot through the bight like usual but since you clipped it off it's the same stability in my eyes.

    if you fall with the rope runner attached to your chest harness, will it catch you? look to have slack in it

    • @chtclimbing
      @chtclimbing  2 года назад

      Assuming you’re using a load rated carabiner and no force is applied, maybe a carabiner like the XSRE (4KN) might hold. But if your chest harness is a Chester by 4SRT then your screwed. I have tried using an XSRE to attach a knee ascender to my boot and the carabiner failed as soon as I took off. So I have that in mind as well. What do you think? 🤙🏼

    Can you suggest a rope that works well with both rope runner pro? I am using 11 mm velocity and it’s super jerky descending.

    • @chtclimbing
      @chtclimbing  Год назад +1

      Interesting. I been using all kinds of rope. The safari works well. The dragonfly is my go to. Some people say it’s not good but I am convinced that this is a great rope. I also use the Xstatic rope, which is another phenomenal rope for the rope runner. The one thing I did notice is that when changing over to another rope is that a small adjustment depending on how jerky or loose it feels makes a world of a difference.

    That 194 dosent seem to be cutting that bad. I haven't heard much good about em. But that's cutting pretty well. I'm looking to get a spare tope handle for my side jobs. But I think I'll try out the husky 540. Just another $200. Just don't have the $800 for another 201

    No way I’d put me flip line above the rigging sling,to easy to get bucked off the tree if the groundy accidentally holds it up,I really don’t see the danger in putting flip line below sling

    • @chtclimbing
      @chtclimbing  9 месяцев назад

      Once the rigging gear catches the load and now on top of the lanyard it can be very difficult to remove the lanyard. Granted every situation is different. But if something were to go wrong where you’d need to bomb out immediately and that lanyard is pinned down by the rigging gear, most people would be toast. There are several techniques to employ to keep the lanyard from bucking off. A small loop with a thimble commonly seen on the hip star lanyard or creating a spar anchor with a rigging loop. I mean the options are endless. It may sound counter intuitive at first but juggling with the possibility of pinning that lanyard is a scary situation that can and should be avoided. Thanks for the comment🤙🏼
