I think I have all I need to begin limb-walking as an arborist... Can you or others tell me what you would add/subtract from the gear I have to be most effective? GEAR: Edelrid Tree Core Harness, Edelrid Chest Harness, Edelrid Knee-Cruiser, CT Climbing Foot Ascender, Notch Rope Runner Pro, 7 25KN Carabiners, 3 New Doar 23KN Nylon Loop Runners (28"?), 1 Notch Nylon Loop Runner (36"?), Notch Quickie (Used for main canopy anchor), Notch Micro-Pulley (for redirects, or maybe add a Prusik and use it on a lanyard?) Notch Gecko Steel Climbing Spikes, Vevor Aluminum Climbing Spikes (Literally identical to Geckos, btw). 150' Arborist Rigging Rope, 150' of 16 Strand Climbing Off-Brand Rope (I REALLY want to upgrade to the Sterling HTC Addiction or Teufelberger Drenaline, with two sewn or spliced eyes), STIHL 14" Hand Saw with velcro leg-attachments, 1 Lanyard with 15' HTC Addiction rope/Notch Clip/Basic Rope Grab/25kn Biner and 1 Lanyard with Sterling Tri Rope/Notch Clip and Basic Rope Grab/25kn Biner. (I also have a 9' Vevor steel-core lanyard as a backup), Milwaukee Top Handle Saw (Battery Powered w 3x batteries), LOTS of other chainsaws(55/391/372/460/661c), NO GAS-POWERED POLE SAW YET, Vevor 25' Manual Pole Saw (works great), Notch Medium Portawrap with 14' Eye Sling, Rope Logic Ultrasling with Notch Thimble (1/2', 10,000 lb), Rope Logic X-Rigging Ring w/ 36' Loop... I've got a bunch of other small extras, but was curious if this is enough gear to tackle most trees... What would you add or subtract?

@@servanttofriend8481 that’s a lot of gear. I wouldn’t necessarily add any gear until I’ve hit a “wall” in some portion of the climb. Once I identify that issue I’ll start brain storming on how I can fix it with the gear I have. If that’s not cutting it then I’ll buy some gear to address the issue.
Limb walking is all about practice so go ahead and climb outside of work without a chainsaw and get a feel for it without all the extra gear. Hope that helps.

For years now I've seen you use that yellow rope??? Can you tell me what the benefits of it are why you choose it..and details be great if u could ..looking into a static or different srs style line ..something besides 24 strand 11.7 that I usually run...just got the samson dry vortex but got it for double rope mainly ???

@sethhaun78 this rope is called dragonfly by teufelberger. This is a low stretch static kernmantle construction rope. It offers great versatility in terms of climbing application and knotability. As you’ve seen I climb SRS and MRS with this rope. The nature of it may lean slightly toward a spongy feel however once loaded and the load maintained, it behaves like any other static. So for lack of better explanation it is in this gray area between static and the standard high elongation ropes. I hope that helps!🤙🏼

@@chtclimbing yes thank u exact ly what I was needing to know....do you??? Know of a thick line say half-inch that has that capability??? 11mm is super thin..might try it ..but still want thick er ropes ..I bought samson dry vortex hd..

@@Sethhaun78 no I don’t know of any. I do know there are thicker static ropes that may have higher elongation. This rope really isn’t all that thin. Have you had a rope thinner than half inch? If not you’ll be pleasantly surprised with these types of ropes.

@@chtclimbing yes I have bluemoon and yale focus...and 11.6 petzl flow ...love blue moon ..guess have to get some 16strand fir removals and vortex.just bought vortex dry hd..nice rope most water resistant available. But thick ..I've not tryed and of teffelburger or newengland ropes. Wanted try the green blue tachyon but it's super high priced for a 11.5 rope kinda not sure about that.could get it but don't want be mad after wards.wanted to try the fly and others God bless let me know what your thoughts on many ropes or do video on kernmantle and 16 strand vs 24 strands ..
