This should really be a more frequent aspect of the channel. Totally blind flights make for the best, most interesting content to watch. That's why advent is always so much fun.
Probably doesn’t get the views though….maybe I’m wrong but it always seems like top 5 style videos are the ones that the algorithm pushes.

Props to Dan and Sean for taking this one on the chin for the viewers. Double blind flights are HARD and they are good sports about it. Hope everyone enjoyed the idea.

I'm about to do a blind with Mid-Winter Nights Dram A9S4 ($400 online) vs. Sagamore Spirit sherry finish ($75). I really hope Sagamore wins :). You can find it easily.
This idea should 1000% be a series
1792 being confused for a $250 bottle of Willet wheated!!! All the more reason for me to continue to enjoy 1792 as my daily sipper
Love the fact that not once did the word "cherry" come out of either of their mouths in reference to the Calumet. All they could talk about in their initial review of 15 and 16 was the cherry.
This is great. That's tough for Calumet 16 going from "possible bottle of the year" to 4th in this blind (Sean)...

I rarely comment on YT videos but this video made me laugh uncontrollably so hard for so long. I had no idea how much I needed this. This reminds me of another of your videos where plain Buffalo Trace was ranked above other more expensive offerings.
This shows that we pay more for names, labels and bottle appeal than for what’s inside. We love a particular product because we are supposed to love that product due to name or price

It blows my mind you didn't get V.O.B. and 1792 as Barton. V.O.B. was the first bourbon I drank in 1973, I will never forget the taste! First time I tried 1792 I knew it was a Barton product!
The 1792 stuff seems to be in a weird place right now. Lots of off profile bottles rolling out

I had to watch this twice to make sure Sean made B last. That's B... in last place. This was a FAN-tastic video. Love this format. Six out of five stars. That was great. Need to grab a bottle of Bulleit barrel strength (no store picks of any sort in Ontario, Canada). And clearly I need to buy a 1792 small batch.
I have been collecting and tasting bourbon for over 45 years. I currently have about 225 in my collection. I have done many blind tastings and have never placed the highest priced bourbons first. WT Kentucky spirit once beat out all the BT mash bill #2’s. Rip Van Winkle came in dead last one day. When you strip away all the hype and marketing BS it is amazing how your palate or perceived palate changes.
My main take away is that 1792 is the absolute KING of bourbon.
Pikesville Rye says money means nothing in terms of whisky. $40 and might be the best whisky Ive tasted save Old Carter NY/NJ B1

Okay, so Dan totally wins this, at least he had Calumet 16 in 2nd place and not last. Dan, your comment were how fantastic the nose was, how oily it was....Scooby Doo might have figured that out. I mean you guys never claimed to be Matt, the Whiskey Super Taster! Ouch! BTW, something weird about Very Old Barton...really didn't like the 100....liked the 90 as a top Bottom Shelf bourbon. Go figure.

Great content! I’m not liking my Calumet 16 that’s been opened for a month. Really love my Sam Houston 14 and 1792 always seems to hold its own!

Please do more double blind flights with rare bourbons and easy to find ones. This will help people to find alternatives to what they can’t find.

More money generally does = more better. The question is when does it become diminishing return? Like 60ish gets you a damn good bottle of bourbon and the $60 bottle is generally worth the $30-40 more than the 20-30 bottle. But is the $100 bottle the same amount better? IMO no. But that’s all subjective.
