This adds to my theory that the reason so many celebs react so strongly to Da Bomb is that it just tastes so bad. Like, you eat a good hot sauce and yeah, it's hot, but it TASTES GOOD, so you've got that going to kind of balance. Da Bomb clearly tastes TERRIBLE so you got all that heat and NOTHING flavor-wise to relieve it, so it hits harder than it's scoville level. It's quite literally offensive to the taste buds well beyond the heat.

I just found your site because I was looking to buy The Classic from The Heatonist and you came up in a search. With your reviews, I thought it would be funny to see if you had reviewed Da Bomb. Watching you guys react to the original had me laughing. My wife and kids got me Da Bomb and The Last Dab XXX for fathers day last year. Da Bomb is truly awful. I still use it from time to time when I just want to burn, but it tastes pretty bad so I have used more than you two have. The Last Dab I really like but it too does a number on your system because it is pretty darn hot. Anyway, great video. Love that you compared the new to the old. Will definitely check out more of your vids!

I think the Original Da Bomb is REALLY good on tacos. It has a flavor similar to mole. Use sparingly and you'll enjoy it.
I'm sure they've sold a lot of the original Da Bomb. The real question is how many people have actually FINISHED a bottle lol

@@PepperGeek you probably aren't wrong, I plan on getting the original Da Bomb just to see how I like it but I've had Evolution and that thing is killer on the spice.

On behalf of those of us that have had both of these editions...a tip of the cap to you both for suffering through the experience to give a proper review of the new and the old Da Bombs. I thought the Evolution was an 8/10 on heat as well and It at least has the flavors that make it worthwhile.

Whoever gave this video a thumbs down has obviously never tried Da Bomb and doesn't know to take it seriously. Bravo to you two! This was a great review. For us, the Evolution was hot but not overpowering like its predecessor.
I use da bomb beyond insanity in salsa just add by the drop to your desired heat I usually add 3 drops per bowl of salsa but also add to spaghetti sauces etc just add by the drop to desired heat level or add to franks hot sauce to kick it up a couple notches
one use I have for the super hot sauces is 5-6 drops in some tomato soup (with grilled cheese, mmmm). Coming up on a year of doing that with one bottle pretty much exclusively and need to re-order it soon. Occasionally will do a spicy white sauce for pasta too. To that point, do you think you could use the original Da Bomb just as a hot "filler" for soups, chilies, and the like without the bad taste really being an issue?
There are many other hot sauces better suited for that use - can't really recommend the original Da Bomb for any culinary use. That sounds good though!
I googled this after trying evolution thinking it would be just as bad as the previous Da Bomb, but evolution actually tastes flavorful, has no chemical fuel taste to it and it has a pleasant heat!
It truly did evolve forward.

Definitely. I don't even consider myself a chili-head, yet I still feel the need to add hot sauce whenever I make a batch of "extra hot" Golden Curry.

You know what I think would be a great addition to this channel?
Everyone in this hobby looks for hot sauce recipes at some point. Well, let's say you just take all kinds of different hot sauce recipes from the internet, try making them, show us the process and 'review' them. Could make an entire series about it. We, the viewers, don't have the time, money or peppers to try 100 recipes to find the best ones.
I see some channels (including this one) review store bought sauces, and that's cool and all, especially if you're targeting a US audience only. The world, however, is much bigger than that, we love spice in Europe too, but we don't have the same assortment of sauces here so these videos are not helpful, but if you link to an internet recipe, we can all enjoy and discuss the same sauces. Wouldn't that be wonderful?
That is a great idea! We really want to post more content focused on homemade hot sauces. We will be doing a lot of experimenting this summer, and hopefully can share some delicious recipes with everyone.

When other hot sause needs more heat , add some DaBomb to it .
I am literally addicted to capsaicin & pretty much have to get me a burn on everyday.
I mix DaBomb with weaker sauce to achieve the perfect heat levels.

Seen a guy dump old bomb in his chili like tobasco sauce. He fought off the pain, could tell he was dying inside. Then couldn’t find him at our work. Seen lying belly up in huge front lawn. He made it home.. next day says that da bomb is like molten barbed wire coming out! 😂

nope we don't since that's the point of pepper extracts is that they're a mystery blend
Unfortunately, it looks like Hot Ones will be replacing the original Da Bomb with the new "Evolution" based on the season 14 gift set available via heatonist... That's too bad if that's the case.
beyond insanity is hot , but i think the flavor is terrible, i dont like extracts .

@@jettnash5217 well as we know by now thankfully they didn't, Evolution was just a substitute so they could sell a 10th bottle in a pack since they're against selling sauces with extracts in them.

not a bad idea, Da Bomb Evolution is killer on the heat so I wouldn't recommend using Da Bomb Beyond Insanity since there's no guarantees of that affecting him.
Okay, I’m curious, how does the heat level of Da Bomb Insanity compare to Dave’s Insanity Sauce?

Dave’s is pretty wicked.
I’ve never had Da Bomb hot sauces, but I have an eight year-old bottle of Dave’s Insanity hot sauce that is still 2/3 full in my fridge, and I use it somewhat frequently. The reason I still have 2/3 of a bottle left is because I do not apply it directly to anything that I plan on eating, but use it one or two drops at a time, to turn a commercial mild level salsa into a commercial hot level one. Or if I am making homemade salsa out of season and the batch of store-bought jalapeños and/or habaneros I have purchased is not particularly hot, I will boost the heat with one or two drops of Dave’s.
I eat spicier food than anyone else I know, and I have a lot of friends who are first or second generation Asian Americans or Latin-Americans. I typically order food at either the maximum or half a star below the maximum heat level at any Asian restaurant except for vindaloo at an Indian restaurant; I once had an order of vindaloo that tasted great going down but the burn continued and got worse in my stomach and it knocked me out of commission for the rest of the day.
I haven’t grown any really hot peppers - nothing beyond Thai chiles - for quite a few years, but this year I’ve got about 20 varieties raised from seed I’ll be putting into the garden in a week or two. The hottest pepper I ever grew was a Trinidad bird pepper which ch was quite small, about the size of a peanut M&M, but a single pepper in 10 quarts of chili or 4 quarts of salsa was hotter than anyone else could eat except me. I bought the plant from a local nursery about 25 years ago and I’ve never seen the seeds for it anywhere since. When giving a tour of my garden to my old college roommate, I didn’t notice him offering one of the bird peppers to his wife, as I would’ve prevented it. I’ve never before seen a grown woman cry for over an hour straight nor drink a full gallon of milk that I just bought that morning straight from the jug. Dave’s Insanity sauce is hotter than those peppers. It is by a long shot the hottest thing I’ve ever eaten.
that's a good question I should try and see if I can find Dave's Insanity Sauce and buy it, I was able to get all of the Season 7 lineup and most of the Season 9 lineup there's 1 that they don't easily sell but otherwise other than that I just need to buy the 2nd and 3rd sauces from that season.
Dave's Insanity Sauce will be an option eventually for me so don't think I've forgotten about this, right now I'm just in a kick with trying sauces from Hot Ones but I'll eventually run out of stuff to try.

Beyond Insanity is Da Bomb's old school entry-level product. Ground Zero was my reference for those willing to try oral chemical warfare. It tastes like fruit laced diesel fuel, and burns like lava. Punches way above it's "official" scoville score!

Heat-wise, this one is pretty brutal. Da bomb is probably the worst tasting though. The Last Dab at least has flavor!

What does “interesting” taste like?
The flavor is pepper-forward and more on the savory side. We prefer a more complex sauce. Interesting they're calling it "Da Bomb Evolution" - it's nothing like the original. It's much better, but the bar was set pretty low ;)

It's a shame they sell Da Bomb in such a large bottle. I think everyone just uses it to burn their mouth and then , never eat it again. I know Da bomb is made specifically to do what it does on the show. I just wonder if on the site they could make a version of the original, just actual flavor ingredients added. Maybe someone at home has done this already.
Every time liquor come out at my house da bomb does and there has been many of bottles of liquor since I got it about 6 months ago and still like 25% of the sauce left. I actually like how it tastes on lean steak like a NY strip in small doses that is lol
