I'm not sure why you're projecting your own insecurities, but that's legit just a factual statement of the OP.
Eating a chip doesn't make you a man or validate anything, but making a big deal out of eating a tiny fraction of a chip does make adults appear like babies. These news stations really don't need to follow every internet trend if they aren't planning on following through properly anyway.

If you’re going to try it...prepare first.
1. Line stomach with big dose of Pepto Bismol or Milk of Magnesia...for after affects.
2. Coat lining of mouth with thick corn starch mixture...to protect against pain from pepper.
3. Don’t attempt with dry mouth....the chip is so dry it will stick everywhere.
4. Chew and swallow as fast as you can...limiting time in your mouth.

A couple years ago I made some fresh salsa. Just diced yellow onion,tomatoes chopped cilantro and lemon juice. But what made it extremely special was the additives lol. I am a pepperhead. I put 3 finely diced habeneros, 2 diced pickled jalapenos 4 little red Thai chilies, half a 5 ounce tube of habenero garlic paste and a tablespoon of dried Carolina reaper flakes and seeds.then let it set out overnight.omg so hot but good. No one else would try it. Just the smell had people bowing out. Even to me it was hot. I was eating it with chips or non scrambled eggs burned but tasty.
