I remember my mum making this for us on Fridays topped with black pepper mixed with baked beans and Tomatoes after football well worth it. Brings back good childhood memories in the UK where I was born.
Thank you for your recipes and instructions. I’ve followed your recipes and made rice and peas, brown stew chicken, this, banana fritters... basically your my go to Caribbean chef 👍🏾 big up!!!
I really enjoyed your video titled Saltfish Fritters. At first I was wondering why you did not give measurements, then I realized that the measurements are in your cook book, Caribbean Cuisine Cookbook. I will buy your book, and watch your video to see how you actually execute the recipes. Keep up the good work Chef Ricardo.
My mother is 85 yrs old so she is the original old skool. My fritters can never taste as good as hers but she also puts tomato but mashes it out! Lickle scotch bonnet in mine tho as I like a lickle kick in a it!
I made this KETO style 😋 I used most of what you use but I use Almond flour instead with two egg instead of water, also to eliminate the oil I use a mini waffle maker with a little spray of olive oil. It turned out Yummy as well👌🏽😍👍🏽
yummy.... I think I will cook this tonight with some whiting fish because that is all I have.... yours turned out so pretty and yummy golden..... very little ingredients love it.
The way I do it is to mix the flour and water first, little at a time then all the other ingredients after. Watch the salt amount, if you haven't soaked and boiled the salt fish long enough then it's still salty. So taste a piece of the salt fish to see how salty it is. You can substitute the salt fish with shrimps. Most delicious when they are just made (still hot). One of the best Jamaican snacks, you can never eat just one. Keep up the good work Chef Ricardo. Folks don't just watch - like, subscribe and share. HAVE A BLESSED DAY
😋I'm trying this recipe TODAY...I've tried making from scratch in the past deep frying and although they turned out tasty..this method with delicious ingredients is way more authentic🖤💚💛❤🙌🏼🙏🏼Thank you chef Ricardo😁😃

@Rose Jackson...there are various types of salted fish, you don't have to use cod but it's better if the fish is salted or smoked. I've used smoked cod & smoked haddock to make fritters too & it's just as nice
bishop12340 scotch bonnet preppra...dwl, watched his tutorial on juicing...and he kept saying frivor...for fiber. Know his thing though...I love his channel

Jamaican measurements are, ‘a pinch’ or ‘a little’.
@@charlesworth5603and a tups😂😂
The only thing. For me, I don't add salt because the saltfish is already salted. Even when you boil it, there's still some salt left in it.
Thanks for sharing. I always thought it would not be the same without baking powder but now I know. Thanks
You’re welcome 😊
Watching this while eating salt fish fritters. So delicious 😋
this do look "lovely and nice". lol. I love to add tomato in it too. real good. thank you for sharing your talent.

So delicious! I add a little baking powder to mine--I like them a bit puffy.
Hey Chef, I too am a Chef, I put little baking powder in my fritters, my mother made hers same way, family recipe over 100 years
Baking powder allows the fritter to absorb too much oil.
Ur right am still waiting for him to put the baking powder guess he forget
@@adlihkristopher5790 Yup, he must a forgot.…..lol...…..happens to the best of us. lol......Or maybe he used self rising flour.
