Hey squidmar I was wondering if you wanted to check out this miniature painting channel for some extra tips to improve your work even more keep it up also the channel is (watch it paint it) I learned a lot from the channel and now I love the minis I have painted
As someone who deals with long term illness that impacts my ability to paint a lot, it can be hard to get re-motivated but I always say that miniatures are patient, they will wait for you, so fair play for being honest about how crap it is when you get sick! Speaking of sick you minis are SICK (in a good way) really vibrant and you have a unique style for sure.
Love your painting style Emil, so vibrant, even the shadows pop off. I will always be excited to watch you painting. I don't understand why people don't click like more, I try to do it with every video that I've watched on YT, it's just polite.
Always so much fun watching these, very infectious. Some cracking paintjobs. I think one of the ironies with mini painting for wargames is we focus attention on the front and then, since they're facing away from us in a battle, we mostly look at the backs. So, I would like to see more attention on the backs of these models even with the light source being taken into account.
I'm glad you managed to push through the project, Emil. Your work is an inspiration to the whole community, even if you have bad days. Thanks for staying determined 🙂
Thanks for having the bravery to show the reality of miniature painting, you could have easily just been like yep i did 100 in 100. but you where truthful and that shows a level of humility thats nice to see in youtubers.
You are crazy! This could have broken you and turned you off painting but.... not only did you do 100 models and reduce your pile of shame, you came out the other side with a new found desire to paint more. Amazing
the one thing i love is the constructive self criticism because i think its a great quality to have as a painter and the detail to me is amazing anyways but i just love the work and aspire to get to that level one day as i have been doing the hobbies over a year now and stared when u got my first job 2 years ago and still learning tanks for everything keep it up bud. thanks again.
I dont know if your videos are the reason but over time (years) I have noticed that my way of painting is becoming more like yours. Thanks for the videos, they are great!
It is nice to see, that you have had fun. Really nice paint jobs were created. You inspired me to do the same thing, to finish my zombicide minis. Thank you
Tbh being ill does not take away your days the way i see it should not say the sick days count great work definitely helps me to get my pule off grey painted
Incredibly inspiring video! Way to push through and work hard. I appreciate your humbleness in saying you learned a lot and improved because you are one of the most talented painters out there and you are still pushing to improve!
great video and showed a wonderful example of resilience, encountering some unforeseeable hurtles/events and dealing with them while pressing forward to ultimately accomplish your goal, well done!
I just LOVE your HeroQuest minis. Your painting style adds so much to these kinda basic models, it just incredible to see how great they can look! I wouldn't mind a video where you go all in and paint all your HeroQuest stuff. Would love to see it (Space Crusade too!).
Hey! Long time watcher, first time commenting. Well done! 100 minis in 100 days sounds great but hats off to you for not doing a silly crunch to make it happen. Health and mental health are far more important than arbitrary deadlines. You should be proud of all you’ve achieved. :)
... that avatar of khain wasnt what i was talking about, 100 minis painting every day would be interesting, very nice style very nice mood in alot of things, i liked ur approach on eyes, gives me an idea how to up my game with already being on the right way *fireemoji*
Great Job! Besides it would be cool a video comparison to how your paint style changed during those RUclips years, new technique you adopted (and the ones you stopped using)... We watch you every week so we can't discern your day-to-day improvement but sure there are!
Always fun to watch. I've always been a fan of middle earth so it would be great if you painted one of the newer resin models some of them actually look really cool.
I love these videos, but they are torture too. I've always loved 40k and it's Lore, but I was borne with tremors, and my hand constantly shakes, so I've even been able to do anything even remotely detailed. I'm exceedingly envious of your abilities. Your work is awesome and a constant reminder of what I can't do 😅
Great vid, love the work. You’re an inspiration to many who are starting out on the hobby, and you even inspired me to get into the paint scheme years ago with your paint tutorials. Your vids continue to push me to be better, cheers!
Super cool project! And seeing the improvements you made along the way was really neat. I don't think I could do one a day due to how long I take on a mini... and the fact I don't have a tone of time in a day...but maybe I should try some timed painting sessions to see how long I normally take and then set a goal of like "10 minis in a month" 🤣 that would be more than I am currently that's for sure.
i just love your style, it looks so great. i really want to do that with my sororitas, take the tame and get them to a great level. ty for all the great videos
I had this werid thing happening this week. I binged a couple of your vids during a couple of long painting sessions last week. Somehow i picked up something, and that is the way you and Lucas say: What the Hell. My daughter asked me last Wednesday where i picked up the "weird" accent. Up till then i didn't realize it 🤣😂. So thank you and thanks Lucas (or is it Lukas) for adding to my vocabulary 😅🤔😁, it sound so much better then saying it in dutch 😛.
@@SquidmarMiniatures i know the channel, yours is way better!! 😀. As are your painting tips. My god i made so much progress thanks to you and lucas. I think you helped me skip through a decade of trial and error easily! Thank you soo much 😀. Ow and never apolagise for taking care of yourself! Don't forget all the painters you helped out! When you are sick it's our time to help you out with some patience. Your vids are always worth the wait!!
I really enjoy the wide range of various miniatures, of different areas. As much as I love GW's work, seeing you work on other projects, like the Brom's archer is super interesting. And yes, the more your paint, even at your level, the more you improve, this is a natural process. Hope to see more of your projects soon. By the way, any improvements on the Mordheim incredible table?

22:02 My spider senses feel a little disturbance here… Emil might be a little sneaky cheater only to paint the front of the minis 😂 Still, as always, great stuff anyhow (on the front at least 😜)
I wanted to get some painting done this weekend but since moving house i cant find my gear. I was going to build & paint the fury set for flames of war.
I would love a squig tutorial after watching this video. I searched your channel but didn't find the word squig anywhere. Yours are amazing including the basing.
I kinda felt like you originally intended video minis to not be included but I see why they are you paint to a level that would take me days so fast I’d love to see you do a golden deamon entry
I did a unit of magenta brimstone horrors, just a b/w zenithal, extra white and then a light misting of super thinned magenta with the airbrush until it looked hot pink and hit it up with some red shade for the accents
Here is an idea paint Warhammer miniatures like histoircal minis like blackpowder or ww2 minis and paint historical minis like warhammer minis plus it would be cool to see death korps of krieg painted like actually germans.
Amazing that you managed to finish it! Starting out on something like this one always under estimate just how many days will be wasted on other stuff. Oh, and that ten day fever? I got it just before Christmas 😂 Will you bring any of these minis to Fantasia? Would love to see them in person.
❤as always, amazing minis, inspiring and you never forget to include The Lucas Elbow Cameo :). Wouldn’t be the same without it. How did Soma kickstarter go in the end? Do you have enough footage and willpower to do a recap/how to kickstarter video?
In case they are display models and just stand on the shelf (which in Emil's case most of them I think) there is not much sense to spent time on the parts that are not visible.
@@ArtiiVoid Sure but just plain black on the back half of an entire set of models? It's certainly a quick way to paint, just don't ever turn them round i guess. "oh i thought your underworlds warband was painted? - it is, just only on this other side"
@@craigsargent2476 don't you understand lighting directions? When you paint with a directional light source you don't detail the back the same as the front, painting the same all over is the cartoonish way of painting from the old days, fine if that's what your going for but it doesn't need to be done when light sourcing ✌️

Great job, though quick question. Why are you favourite minis painted from front and back but others are only painted from the front. The AOS dwarfs were just black on the back?
Emile, you only deserve half a like since you failed and didn’t finish ON TIME!!! Lucas should get extra cookies as punishment for letting us down! (Seriously though, great work and glad you’re feeling better!)
