Rocking those tees! 🔥🔥🔥
HOW DID LUCAS DO THAT IN 24 HOURS!? I’m normally not a fan of supporting his eating habit, but he does deserve at least half a cookie after this
when emil said "this might be my worst idea ever" i was worried he was gonna attempt a resin pour at the last second 😂
it crossed my mind
oh god@@SquidmarMiniatures
It wouldn't be a Squidmar episode without resin!😂
this video was AMAZING! Lucas is my hobby hero, that 24 hour army was incredible
He's a legend, thanks jay!
Two hobbyist legends in one place, truly a blessing from the Emperor......Okay time to compete with each other. Lol😁
Squidmar biggest warhammer flex is that he is not single
lol
And hes not a virgin
Bahahaha
I was thinking his partner's biggest flex is that she's married to him. Lol
Biggest flex is he's married and his boyfriend works on the channel. Omega Chad move
I love this continuing bit about Lukas and (not) getting paid, makes me chuckle every time.
I am worried for Lukas... blink twice in the next video if you need our help Lukas. Lol!
What bit? ;)
Yeah...the bit....
what a knee slapper
that "stormcast" army looks really good. it absolutely feels like someone did completely their own thing and just picked the army rules that their ideas fit in the best!
You guys should do a studio tour sometime! It seems like it's changing a lot
Lukas: “I’m actually sorta done-which is more than I can say for Emil”
(Emil off screen): “Fack Ya-ouuu!”
I laughed so hard! 😂
Man that was soo funny!😂
Came to the comments just to say this exact same thing! OMFG I snorted!
I don't even paint mini's but I watch videos like this to see what other people like to do in their spare-time.
The moment this happened I instantly subbed 😆
Wish you did this without it being a 24hour comp. You guys are so great at what you're doing and giving more time makes more sense than a marathon
Agreed, even a week would be real cool to see
@@2355Kyle exactly!
I initally thought similar, however Emil does explain why in the video and I totally understand where he's coming from to have it as a 24hr challenge.
@@darylccc yeah I get that, but still, with their skill any artist would want more time. 4 hours a night over a week is better than 24 hour marathon
This. I'd rather see you both actually put a week or two into a passion project army and see what the end result is. How the warlord titan project worked out, with videos upon videos; do that with an army.
I like how people can actually be happy for others when they win
Both armies looked amazing - was it on purpose that you chose Fire and Ice for conflicting themes? Would love to see more of that winning army, maybe invite the winner to a follow-up episode where we get some closeup looks :D Grats to both of you on a better painted army in 24 hours, than I have been able to complete in 24 months ;)
When Lucas says, "My English is so bad right now," it's still amazing . I forget sometimes that you probably don't speak English nearly as much as your vocabulary and fluency demonstrates.
why not do a few "tutorial" videos each year where you paint your stuff that you've been wanting to paint, you could also do a series where you pick a painting competition and spend multiple videos just working on it going over all the stuff you're doing and the big payoff is the competition where we find out how well you placed. Your videos are very entertaining but getting a few that go into the technical aspects of your painting techniques would be fun and you could use it to work on personal miniatures instead of just giant projects, which are amazing, and I know some of your viewers including my wife and I would love to see and more importantly hear your process when painting.
Heck, do a "paint with me" and just stream it. I'd paint along with you from here in Oregon! Maybe a paint-a-thon?
There are many other channels focused on tutorials. Squidmar is more about entertainment I would say, and obviously works very well for them
Dear Emil and Lucas, I am watching your videos with my two 5 yo daughters for almost a year and I can´t find words to decsribe how amazing you guys are, original, funny, professional and inspirative at the same time. Your videos are the best edited I have ever seen. I want to start painting this Christmas and teach it one day to my daughters so we can have nice miniatures for our future D&D games. Thank you for all you are doing for the community. You are the best. Fingers crossed to beat the GW ;-).
Wish you all the best to new year 2024 from Jesenik, Czechia
Well done both of you for 2nd and 3rd best in show! Glad you were able to play some too with those armies.
Yeah man i'm stoked! Had a ton of fun!
What a journey! Both your armies look freaking lit
I'll die if I don't sleep ten hours a day, in our hearts you are the absolute winners.
I would love if you did more videos like this, entering competitions and showing us the process as you go! You don’t need to rush it in 24 hours and we get to learn some things along the way whilst you get to focus on some projects you’re excited about!!
Oskar's SCE army looks incredible. Sad that his socials don't have it posted. It's a beautiful army.
❌cleaning your brush in water
✔cleaning your brush with your mouth
Entered my first local Warhammer painting competition, it's absoloutely swimming in nuln oil but I'm proud of it
"and that's without mentioning the f@%king dragon," lol best line ever. You should make a shirt with 24hr f@%king dragon on it.
I love how nice you guys are even when not winning first place, love the talent and energy!
When Lukas said he was going to do resin early in the video I thought he was joking!! 😂😂
That guy is crazy!!😂 love it!
Paints entire armies in 24 hrs that I couldn't achieve in a lifetime 😢. Looking forward to my Squidmar ultra airbrush arriving though I ordered
yassss
Imagine being able to build base and paint an army in 24 hours to this level of quality. Amazing jobs both of you
Emil had already painted most of his army before the challenge started, so it doesn’t really count.
I love your videos, but can you show more of the process behind the base building? I mean this lava base is just awesome! I love it so much
Your armies looked great. What about next time doing an army over a year? Start now and see how crazy of an army you can pull off by next year?
That Skaven Mechanicum army is great! Gives me hope for the future!
Thanks. That's my army and I worked all year on it.
If I had to summarize this vid in one word, it would be, "amazing".
Great meeting you guys and seeing the models live! Stiff competition, the over all level at the AoS side is insane.
You got defeated only by a fully kitbashed army, and being in the process of fully kitbashing an army.... yeah, that's so much work. Amazing job, loved that display board a lot!
“I’m going to smack Lucas ass”
Lucas : 😮
“My English is so bad rn”. Mate, it’s fucking better than my Swedish is
Mind blowing what you guys accomplished in 24 hours. Truly inspiring.
I really enjoyed to see you guys just having good quality hobby time. Your channel is all about big amazing projects and so on, but seeing you just paint your own stuff and playing with it was such a joy to watch ❤
On another note: Love how Orcs are crazy enough to ride a dragon (and anything else that has the abbility to move) but smart enough to attach a chain security line to hold them connected to the beast ^^
A flying cabbage definitely something i never thought id see :O
Damn all of them did really well especially one with the water bases that army was cool af
Lucas deserved his own division for doing everything in 24 hours! Lucas is the GOAT
I love the marathons btw! They seem so fun, I want to do something like that with my buds, but we don't paint armies... maybe 24hr DnD session?
The car, the angle, and Lukas makes him look like a giant doing resin pours.
There is nothing stupid about a 24hr marathon, it’s something I’d love to try myself when I get a littler better at painting
all these armies look SO SICK!!!
Well done guys. I love how your armies were reflections of each other, both burly brutes riding monsters, one through hot lava and the other across frozen tundra. You are an inspiration and awesome! And keeping it fun!
“Is it to get paid finally?” The face haha. So funny
your armies looked insane, especially for the time put in. that ghost army was just out of this world though... I think that would have been my choice for a winner as well.
Beautiful looking armies, well done, guys!
Awesome video :) weird how Emil started almost resigned and sad and as the video went along he cheered up as he got more tired. Makes me want to try one of these 24 challenges. Both armies looked Lit have to say Lukas's horns were stunning :)
Win or lose, that was amazing! The models are absolutely gorgeous. I could spend months on an army and barely scratch a fraction of that quality, let alone 24 hours.
would love to see a battle report now that you two have armies. Love the display for Emils minis.
:) I just want to appreciate how you guys were such good sports and not sore losers. It's tough to enter these comps and walk away without getting anything. I'd be lying if I didn't say it doesn't take a toll on me when I do it, so your attitudes are very encouraging.
watching this while working = so fricking nice. Now i just want to paint!
That 40k skaven army made me warm inside. yes-yes
Both your armies looked amazing. Wouldn't mind a more detailed look at miniatures from the winners in your categories.
"Toss an Oreo to your painter..." Lukas will win, sorry, Emil.
"doh, better luck next time.
Ngl it's dope you guys came in 2nd and 3rd, it shows how sick both your armies were, but that OSL winner definitely spent way more than 24 hours on it, a deserved win
I went back and rewatched the reveal and I must say I'm quite taken with Lucas' Orgres.
My first thought is how it would actually be effective for them to shield only their belly due to their hulking frames. I then noticed that Lucas has actually included mild frost bite/wind burn on the flesh of the Orgres to tie them into their environment!
He mentioned adding colours to bring out some personality and I see that and just wanted to give this little shout out.
Love what you guys do! But don't stress about the RUclips algorithm. I think fewer companies are paying for advertising time leading to RUclips becoming too strict. Many of my frequent channels with huge followings like yours also are coming up ad free more and more. Best of luck and don't stress!
I would also add that I ordered my squidmar brushes 2.5 years ago now and they still hold up nicely 👌
You're crazy, you know it, you show it with fun and humour. Great job, guys
Soundtrack today really on point! (as always)
24h to paint an army? I can't even paint a single mini like that in 24 hours
Lukas painting that army in 24 hours including bases with a resin pour is NUTS!!
i´d love to see you guys paint up cool kitbashes your fans made
no references, no definition of what it should be
just a mix of the most creative ways inside the hobby
Amazed overhow great both of your armies turned out, staying up and doing any type of work is a real strain on your body and mind.
Cheers from Canada gentlemen. You guys rock
This was amazing. Nice to see your armies. The winning army is amazing.
Shame neither of you won but the winners army did look amazing! I think both of you did fantastically well with the time you had!
Very inspiring. Awesome result.
I really liked the diorama conversion at the end, looked super cool.
Thank you for an awesome video.
Awsome count: 2
DUDE (separate comment cuz the first one was a ramble) your skill and knowledge is actually so cool to watch over the years. That you are able to make an army this good-looking and just whip out that lava display without a second thought is awesome. Your experience is on clear display here, good job.
Actually both of your armies are probably the most attractive at that event, so insane for 24h. I do get why the converted army won tho; I guess a huge factor for judging these things is like "out-of-the-box" stuff. Anyway, awesome work, can't wait to see what you come up with next.
you are both soooooo good at painting i love your minis
4:12 WARLORD TITANS!!!!! Wait a minute....
Amazing job guys. Thank you for all of your videos. I no longer paint or game. So watching your adventures makes me smile and remember good times. :)
I wish you guys could come over and give some painting classes in Amsterdam...
Always the 24 hour challenges with you fellas
Stonehorn are amazing. Love the copper line finish. Need to try that on one of mine
Man. I can't believe you didn't win. The showcase base sealed the del in my mind. Grymt bra jobbat!
If you're looking for more time to paint your own models but don't want that time to cut into your work, have you considered streaming yourself paint? You could do a once a week painting stream where you painted a model for your army or it could just be painting something for an upcoming video. I think a lot of people would be interested in seeing your painting process at a slower, unedited pace.
Great video as always either way
That dudes water base was crazy cool.
To be fair, doing fast and efficient army paint is so rewarding, I recently found that through doing Horus Heresy Word Bearers army 2500 points. But fantasy is so much harder!
This is awesome. Quick note, "smack ass" and "kick ass" have very different connotations in English. Made me laugh a bit.
Both look incredible! I love the faces on the beast for both you guys! You really knocked it out of the park. Emil had amazing armor on Orks but I loved Lucas' bases. Hard choice but I think Lucas wins this round.
Props to the camera guy, the whole video is awesome. Love you guys! I love your content
in this video, lucas looks like bob from top gun maverick
Looked like soooo many awesome and intriguing armies all over there!
All those armies looked amazing. Considering you did yours in a 24h comp and came in 2nd amd 3rd is just mind blowing💪🔥🔥🔥
Fellas should do more videos of actual painting like this. I’d love to see a converted T’au army would be lit 🔥
I was hoping for a grand reveal of the winning army. Try to do that next time please, it would make me happy and give the winner some well deserved spotlight.
Amazing job, guys. Do more of your own armies. We would all be watching and liking anyway!
Not to pick favorites but I think Lucas army is pretty dope.... Although that dragon. Nope it's impossible I can't decide! 😂
that ghost army was amazing lol
That reveal was indeed grand!
I like how both can whip together a handful minis in 24 hs that each would render them a GD statuettes 20 years ago.
Thats the most beautiful paintjob i've ever seen!! 🔥
Yes! I'm so glad to see the orks finished 👍
Luca …. those are sick! I don’t how you two can paint all that in 24 hours. Amazing
Not even sure i could do it in 24 years. Amazing job in 24hrs guys !!!!
Insane looking armies
"too get paid finally?"
"Noooo"
You guys brighten my day.
