  • Clean makeup brushes are key for healthy skin care and a fresh complexion. Using the right cleaning solution is also super important as we don't want harmful traces of it left on our brushes and getting onto our face. This is what I use:
    www.drbaileyskincare.com/all-...
When was the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? Did you wash them thoroughly with a cleaning agent?
If you haven’t done this in the last few weeks, take the time to do so as it not only extends the life of your brushes and makeup, but your complexion too!
Watch me as I go through each of my brushes as well as my brush kit. You’ll be shocked at how dirty mine were… Oh dear!
But when you finish, it feels AMAZING to use clean makeup brushes. Check out my tips in this video, and I will show you how to get them optimally clean!
And please note the cleaning agent I use is NOT a detergent. Detergents are not ideal for the long-term care of your brushes. Instead, I use a natural and hypoallergenic product from my store called Liquid Cleaner Concentrate. It also comes with a spray bottle full of the concentrate. You can check it out here:

Also 50% of the profits from this kit benefit Breast Cancer Awareness!

I hope this information helps you keep your makeup supplies clean and kind to your skin.
Thank you and have a great day!

After washing, brushes should be dried at “an angle” or slant, brush facing down, so that water does not drip back inside the ferrule. Very important!

Not alot of makeup on your brushes is a great sign especially after a little over a month. It could mean alot of the makeup you pick up onto the brush is being distributed onto your face nicely and it's not staying in your brush or you use very little product to begin with! Some people are so harsh with their brushes and dip into their makeup so violently or way too hard.

You should only dip your brushes up to the end of the brush if you did the rest it can get up in the glue and loosen the hairs in your brush and yes like the other girls said you should try them with the brushes facing down so again the water does not go up in where the glue is and loosen the hairs on your brush!

I use coconut oil first and then anti bacterial on my palm amd wipe it off w clean tissue or towel. It seems to do the trick just fine. If im in need of deep cleansing i use soaps with anti bacterial formula rinse them. Well squeeze excess water out and hang them upside down so it dries down not loosening the glue that binds the bristles... .and i would ideally wash them weekly or every 2 weeks depending on usage....

Can liquid dish soap work for removing dirt and dust from brushes?

You’re not supposed to dip the whole brush in the water !! It’s going to loosen the glue

That's true with some brushes I have used - they fall apart. These don't seem to. We have used a lot of different brushes in the aesthetician room, and we must clean them like surgical instruments for hygiene reasons - yes, we have had a variety of experiences with destroying brushes, so I know what you mean! Good point. I seem to get away with it with these brushes. Thanks for watching!

I think depending on how much you use your brushes it should be done every 1-2 weeks.

Personally I wash mine after every use. I have enough brushes to where I don’t need to reuse the same brush but I deep clean every time. 🤗

    Thanks for sharing!
What product were you using to cleanse the brushes??
Also you would NOT want to submerge the brushes ferrule in the product like that. Only the bristles should be wet. Doing so increases the chance of the soap product and water getting into the ferrule and breaking down the brush and it’s bristles.

Hello Queen Rinda! I use my natural detergent free hypoallergenic cleaning concentrate. www.drbaileyskincare.com/all-purpose-100-natural-liquid-cleaner-concentrate I agree, the ferrule can degrade. It never has on these eco friendly brushes. In fact, I'm not so nice to my brushes and they keep chugging along. I was thrilled to find them. www.drbaileyskincare.com/makeup-brush-set Thanks for watching!

Omg she dippped the whole brush in the water the glue is going to loosen up and the fibers will start to shed...do not dip your whole brush in water only the hairs.

This person dips , no submerges, her brushes into water like she's boiling pasta. She has no idea what she is doing. You have to keep the ferrule out if the water. It is not just about clean, it's about keeping the integrity of the brush. Sorry lady.

    • @DrBaileySkinCare

Thank you for your comment Fran. Most all other makeup brushes are not constructed well enough to have the hub/ferrule submerged. I have submerged my personal set for years and they have never disintegrated or rotted behind the ferrule. Others that we tried in the aesthetician suite did fall apart. I do the same with my very high quality oil painting brushes - submerging both in thinner and then in water. All I can say is that this little set is durable. Thank you for your honest opinion and concern. Warm regards, CBMD

@@DrBaileySkinCaret shouldn’t be done to any makeup brush. I have high end brushes. Some of them cost me $80 or more. They shouldn’t be dipped in the water fully. I’ve been a makeup artist for 20 years. You can ruin your brushes that way.

    • @amosremy7454

@@DrBaileySkinCarethat sounds real simple. You are not supposed to submerge the Ferrule. My brushes are 80-110$ and the manufacturer still states the same! Wait, oh I'm a licensed makeup artist😂😂😂 people please funny submerge your ferrule unless you don't care about the longevity of your brush. Being a doctor of skjn care doesn't mean you have knowledge about makeup or their brushes 😂😂😂😂

Are you serious? You only clean your brushes once a month and then you proceed to dip every brush in the same glass of dirty water? No. You should not be making videos about how to clean things.
