    I tried the olive oil and dish soap method, the exact brand and everything that was suggested by Michelle Phan and I must say... I HATE it! Indeed it gets the dirty stuff out but the oil would not come off! no matter how hard I tried to rinse it or wash it again with just the soap it was hard to get it out and wouldnt dry properly, gross. Olive oils or coconut oils are known to be a good makeup remover for your face, but please dont use it on your brush!
    What I DO suggest is use baby shampoo. It works beautifully and it leaves your brushes nice, clean, soft, and smelling good! Baby shampoo is very gentle and safe for your brush and in my opinion, works the best!

      +nn104 I have used oil with my DIY cleanser, and it works pretty well for me. Leaves the brushes super soft. However, it really depends on how much oil you use, you only need a tiny bit.

    • @nyahpittman
      @nyahpittman 8 лет назад +6

      Using the olive oil and soap thanks to Michelle Phan works for me. Maybe you used too much oil I can't imagine it not coming out but if you just use soap it strips away the brushe(s) life use. Using the oil conditions the brush. Again maybe you used too much or the oil you used was too thick

    The best way to clean your brush if you're on a budget is to mix shampoo, olive oil, and a tiny bit of anti bacterial hand soap in a bowl and use a rubber oven mitt. Dip your brush into the bowl and run it under the cool water and then swirl it over the oven mitt. And don't put too much olive oil like they did, it can harm the brush

    I used the shampoo and olive oil with a towel and a bowl of water. It really worked! I used the towel to scrub the brush(make sure it is old because a lot of old makeup will go on it) and I would get all the excess soap off with the water. I really recommend it. They also smell great.

    Ok first of all, too much olive oil, second of all that liquid soap will dry your brush, make sure to use only a little olive oil if you don't want to dry it. And third of all never use hot water because it will loosen up the glue holding your brisals.

  • @mi2092
    @mi2092 9 лет назад

    I tried the olive oil and dish soap method and the olive oil just stuck to the brush and doesn't come off. Yes it could condition you brush but when your brush had oil in it it won't pick your makeup products well. I used to use baby shampoo and yes it's gentle enough but it doesn't clean well also you have to use a lot of it. So now I just use face wash that I don't username my face to wash brushes. We all like trying new things but sometimes they don't work out for our skins. Don't waste that face wash, shampoo or bar soap that you dislike, they wash away makeup on your brushes just fine. They are designed to wash away oil and dirt, that's exactly what's on your brushes!

    If you’re using the soap bar method make sure to use an unscented moisturizing one so you don’t end up having a brittle brush that gives you a skin reaction! My eyes are already sensitive to certain eyeshadow formulas but they got itchy after using the brushes I cleaned with one of my spare soap bars because there was a light scent to it and I risked it anyway.(scented beauty products are horrible for the face anyway)

    I loved the shampoo and olive oil, because after washing my brush wit the shampoo it smells soooooo good and also it cleans soooo well and it is antibacterial, and I love the oil becuz it make my brushes soooooo soft (like a comfy blanket)!!! I love and it's last me 7 months becuz I don't put make up on a lot sooooo yeh haha only (on like special events). But everyone should try it I love it.
    Equal part of shampoo and equal part oil, (MAKE SURE ITS EQUAL) u can put as much or less.

    I used the oil method and it ruined my brushes! :( I rinsed it off properly and spent so much time trying to make sure all the oil and soap came out but the oil wouldn't rinse out no matter how many times I tried. Even after 2 days my brushes still hadn't dried fully and we're greasy from the oil so I tried to rinse it using just soap and just water but it still wouldn't budge!
