The Casey/W motors saga has made W Motors maybe my favorite manufacturer. The fact that W Motors didn’t pull a Ferrari and try to attack Genius Garage for the build was the first pleasant surprise. Then seeing that they were happy to provide some assistance and followed the build was even more impressive. Now choosing to give this rare opportunity to, I say this respectfully as someone with zero followers, a rather small channel based on the fact that he probably would get more from the experience than anyone has me sold on the company. That’s a really awesome story and a really awesome company.

I think the image of W Motors/ the Lykan was somewhat tarnished because we had already heard crazy and unreal claims from the Emirates with the Devel 16, so probably we all collectively put them in the same "scam bag" together

I have lost respect for Ferrari and even Mr. Ferrari himself. He was a really egotistical bastard. He treated one customer so badly that the customer promised him he would regret it. The angry customer's name? Ferrucio Lamborghini. And not only that, he fired a lot of workers and Mr. Lamborghini gave them a job. I heard the team is doing terribly in Formula One now. I couldn't care one bit. Schumacher and Raikkonen did the work for them. They didn't know what the hell they were doing before those two came along. Last I heard, they put the wrong tires on Leclerc's car twice -- in the SAME race!
I can feel the excitement in Casey's voice. He definitely had the trip of a lifetime and enjoyed it to the fullest.

As soon as I learned Casey was going to build the stunt shell into a car I was waiting to see W Motors go full Ferrari on him and send lawyers to put a stop to it. Instead W Motors did the exact opposite. Definitely earning my respect and proving to be a car company of real car people. Great story.

I’m really proud that those people knew your students by name. That’s honestly an honor, I know you know it.
For a guy selling a hypercar with headlights with gold and diamonds in them, Ralph Debbas is a super approachable guy. All interaction I have had with him was really enjoyable. All the stylists and designers were awesome as well. I want their new cars to be even more unique and stunning.

The long videos of the trip are worth a watch. I find that car folks spend so much time and money on their life style they forget that the car community is global and super diverse. Their are other cool brands except what u know and see at car shows.

I hate this video because it may be the closest you'd get to an indept and accurate review, but at the same time this guy was literally given one of the greatest honors by being invited to drive this thing. You know he's gonna thread softly when speaking about the negatives of the car, and may or may not be the best explained, because even if they don't tell him directly to not talk too much negative about the car (I don't think they did anyway), he's still gonna feel guilty if he were to expose something bad about it.

So it's a 10 year old kit car scam being hyped up by the guy that sucks up to W motors every chance he gets, got it. I un-subbed from Casey's channel months ago when he couldn't get their balls out of his throat but I guess nothing has really changed. Embarrassing.

I just love this story about the Lykan i probaly will never own 1 but it surely is a nice car. Also the story about it keeps being written its wonderfull to see a car company being so nice. Hopefully the few who can get a Lykan eventully will enjoy the hardwork it took to build and create such a machine. i wonder when cassey putch is done with his version of the lykan it might not be totaly the same but its gone be intressting for sure. Also many thanks for Vinwiki keeping me entertained during a reallife crissis and a covid lockdown + collecting these wonderfull storys on this channel ive been lurking for 3 years so this comment is surely earned.

My last local Automotive Study school closed down this year there are to little with intresst to attend or are passioned to keep it alive and wrench. Ive never had a proper chance of being educated into serten automotive branches / i worked in a car&truck paintshop with industrial sized machinery but they tried get rite of me illegaly + i worked a lot with no proper income or papers due of my past i have a handicap payout. Ive been trying to get out of that. (last 6 years ive struggled) i can write a book or tell the whole long crazy story how and why things happend but im just a european dont know if Vinwiki would be intressted in my case might maybe be finished in 5 april 2022 before i can be publicly about it. Im stil passionated working with cars and truck + learning things even with my form of autisme i stil enjoy but nothing has gone easy for me. I truely Enjoy the footage i wachted over these few years. And how you help these young people ive never seen such a honest supportive group. Once i was around there Age i was told you are 18 figure it out. With no real form of support or help. Keep up the good work Casey.

If a car builder does not manufacture its own engine transmission or drive train. It's a kit car.
Almost zero car companies make their transmissions and many don’t make their engines….
That means you can be a car builder too.
So is there any footage of actual testing? Not just clips of a leisurely stroll up a mountain

I live in Zagreb , Croatia. Rimac is also from here. Few years ago there was Lykan in city with test drive licence plates.
After that there was a talk between petrolheads that Rimac is doing infotainment system for W motors.
Your Legacy is not what you build or accomplish but what you teach the next generations. That will last longer than anything else.
Genius Garage is doing that.

The evidence shows that he does not drive them very well either. He was 5 seconds off the pace in a field of rookies in a preseason practice session for a junior feeder category just weeks ago.
Same here, he absolutely hyped this up and said he was gonna put it through it's paces.... Instead we get and leisurely stroll up a mountain road. Not that I expected any less, they didn't let him drive a production car because they probably don't have any(why wouldn't they let him use one otherwise?) And it absolutely couldn't handle testing. That much was obvious when the car nearly lit on fire from heat shielding from driving lol

I had a somewhat similar experience in Cyprus. My mom wanted to see Mount Olympus and I rented a shitty SEAT to do that. Sightseeing over, I headed North and found a rugged mountain road devoid of traffic, so set about hammering that course. I had a few white-knuckle moments and Mom was speechless in fear as I took blind corners fast enough that plunging a thousand feet to our certain death was a thrill. Finally got down to flat ground and hit Nicosia for the sights, then back to the hotel in Limassol (the Royal Appolonia) - great hotel and coming back in, hit a speed bump that was not painted. The rear view mirror had obviously had enough, detached from the windshield and landed in the back seat.. I had to pull over b/c I was laughing so hard!

One of my favorite roads where I live in Hawaii is up a 10,000ft mountain. it literally goes above the clouds. The air is cool, the views are incredible and the road is twisty. But it’s a public road popular with bicycle riders so you need to be mindful not to hurt anyone of course. I wish we had a racetrack here to go 10/10ths but it’s an amazing place to drive at 6 or 7/10

I was driving on a long downhill stretch of an east coast mountain highway or "skyway" as it's named... I was going 70+mph and a cyclist in thigh high spandex passed me going atleast 75-80mph! 🤣 the brass of that guy! One bad bearing or road debris and he would've been a grease spot 😬 turns out there was a time trial cycle race taking place that day on that completely open road with only a small warning sign on the more popular entrance side! I really hope the guy that passed me won! 😄👍

Agreed. I stopped watching Casey because most of his videos seemed to be complaint fests. This video is Casey at his best. I'll have to check him out again and see what he's up to.
They should help him out more and setup a program with him that makes cheaper version kit cars Casey and W motors designed. Then have the opportunity to hire students from his program or help them out find careers in other automotive companies. W motors would get a massive reputation boost, while Casey doesn't have to stress as much like he does, just him building cars.
I still don't know what a Lykan is other than it's not a kit car and not a 3.5 million car.
I guess it's a Hype R Car.

Even Chris Harris has drifted the hell out of the La Ferrari when asked to not do so by the maker, so that granny driving of the Lykan doesn't show anything from the car performances. Till then, it's just vaporware.
Pagani and Koenigsegg also shown prototypes in the past and they were beaten to hell by in house test drivers and the guest on the passenger seat, so its pretty obvious W motors don't want (or can't) show anything to support what they are claiming.

@@Spark972 this is VinWiki, not a review channel. The test driver that the company uses is a full-time professional who has competed for years in LMP1. There's only 7 in the world and they are all spoken for, but the Fenyr might get enough produced to eventually get one in the hands of a big-name guy like Harris or Harry Metcalf. How many CTR3s or Ruf RGTs or Chirons have been on those same channels getting slid around a test track?

First off, nobody stays in the con game long, nor is successful, if they appear fake or hinky. You must know that the best con men (automotive, or mattress sales, or internet hustlers) seem legit and are perfect actors. The first Lykan was a scam to raise funds to build Lykans' second car. It actually was a pretty intelligent business model. The second model Lykan has made available (forgot the name) is an actual supercar. The Hypersport? Not so much.
I wouldn't call it a "scam", the buyers knew what they were getting, and much of what they paid for was the exclusivity (and bragging points like crystals in the headlights). Lots of startup companies have to do something similar, heck look at Tesla with the original Roadster in order to attract investors and earn money to develop the first Model S.
I mean the thing we knew beforehand and definitively is that is has the ruf ctr3 drivetrain. Which has that sequential gearbox too 😄

I got to chase a Lykan from Baseline east onto the 210 west (Southern California). LOL, but I was in a 2000 Mustang GT.....so it did not last long by the time he got on the freeway.
Of course it's not a legit hypercar. It's like saying that a Armani suit is the same as a tailored suit you bought from some one that run a drycleaner but also tailor suits. I would class it more as a sportscar. A hypercar entails it's on the edge of the most technological advanced sports cars you can think of.

Spoiler alert, while it seems like this definitely was a cool experience, and the Lykan certainly isn't vaporware, there's nothing particularly special about this car from a performance standpoint, and this video, despite the kind words certainly solidified that. Perhaps there will be a follow up on his channel of him ripping on it at triple digit speeds, some real metrics and maybe even some head to head comparisons but until then its still just a body kit on a Porsche with less reliability.
Its a 3 pedal vehicle. And that third pedal is no parking brake. It certanly is something special in todays day and age.
