My peace lily, unidentifiable generic green one, is the first plant I have had that didn’t immediately turn brown and die. Gave me the confidence to add probably 50 plants so far. It’s been a few years. Similar to a first child, it was my practice child. I did everything wrong and it just survived. And constantly blooms year round. I love this thing. ❤️

I've found the more light I give my peace lily the more it blooms. In fact, that's the ONLY way I've gotten mine to rebloom.

Why does my peace Lilly have brown spots on the ends?
@@jennymoore7623 I've found that usually is a lack of humidity or water. They don't like to dry out too much or for too long. Bright indirect light and a good watering schedule should help AND help get it to bloom again. Mine just surprised me with a new bloom last week! Good luck with yours!
@@amywithay thank, you for answering and the advise. I, will make sure it gets more light but not too much, afraid it will get burned. Also, living here in North Carolina, the water is hard water. Have added a filter to the shower and now have at in there soft water. Will, start using that water. 🙂

Thank you for this video... peace lily was my mum's favourite, and it is mine too... as l cross a shop like home depo equivalent, l have seen for the second time the most gorgeous specimen, so l could not for the second time let it there... now is proud sitting in my livingroom, but l need it good advice how to care for her, and you are, with good advice... thank you!

@@gofigure4920 I've seen scindapsus at Pike's and Oakdale for sure, and sometimes at big box stores (usually Lowe's for me).
@@gofigure4920 I have only visited the three Pike's in Charlotte so I don't know how the selection differs. They don't have them all the time but I have found a couple different types before. Mostly silvery Ann, silver satin and moonlight treubii.

Many thanks for this video. It was very enjoyable to watch!! I have two Peace Lilies and they are both a joy to care for. One I purchased from Pike’s and the other one from Lowes. They’re equally healthy and they both grow like crazy! I honestly don’t do anything special for them, just the basics. I am pretty sure I got lucky and placed them in their sweet spot for lighting. 🥰. Take care and happy growing!! 👌🥰.

Great video. Not a plant I've had great success with, just the sensation variety. Unfortunately many of this are sent to funerals or for hospital patients. They are beautifully displayed in baskets with plastic in the bottom and leaf shine. People tend to leave the plastic in the bottom failing to realize that the roots will rot quickly.
I really wonder how people learned to care for plants, as before there was not internet, and yet my mum had exquisite plants...

Hey Ashley!! I just found your channel and subscribed immediately! I am a plant mom but because I am currently living in an apartment I only have about 8. I have a peace Lilly that I was sent in 2019 when my Uncle passed. It did well for a time but I decided to repot it in a smaller pot because the leaves were falling off and it's been downhill since. There are a fre green leaves that appear every now and then is the reason I still have it but most of the leaves are black. It has a huge root system so I'm considering re potting it in a larger pot. I fertilize it about every 2 weeks and water it a small amount weekly. I believe the crash started when I put it out on my balcony so I will keep it inside. It's been inside all winter in my greenhouse with a grow lamp sparsely shinning on it. Any other suggestion you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Your fungus gnat video helped me and my plants have a peaceful winter 🙏🏽 I think it’s time to start fertilizing multiple types of plants to prep before the last frost and moving back outside. Do you think it’s generally ok to add fertilizer to Mosquito Bit tea solution? Bottom watering with the tea is the only thing that’s kept the gnats away.

Hi Ashley, I have had peacelily for many years, but over the past year I am getting black scorching on the leaves. I have had to so much die back that the plant is now downsized to a sized to a 4 inch pot. Still lost a lot of leaves but now is looking better. I think it is because I just started using a humidifier. What is your opinion . I live in Scarborough, Ontario. By the way I love your channel. I am learning so much about new plants and plant care. Just bought 13 new plant in just one week,

Enjoyed your video! When repotting to a larger pot, is it necessary to use a plastic 'liner insert' OR can we just repot into a larger ceramic/fiberglass pot?
I have 3 peace Lilly’s. The only one that flowers is the one next to the south window so they must need the good light
Thank you for your video! I am wondering if I can use only a ceramic pot instead of plastic. However, it is hard to envounter ceramic pots with drainage holes. I have found some that have one hole. Is this enough?

I would like to know if leaves with brown tips should be cut off. I have repotted and divided my peace lily.
I have a lovely peace lily that hardly ever blooms. It makes leaves like crazy but I only see about 1 or 2 blooms a year. Should I be fertilizing more, and is there a certain kind I should use to promote more blooms?
Fertilizing during the growing months will definitely help with blooming. Any houseplant fertilizer should do the trick.
I find that a lot of the noid highly variegated peace lilies from Indonesian sources do not stay highly variegated and turn into either diamond or picasso varieties
Why would you plant a Peace Lilly in a pot with air holes ( orchid pot)? Wouldn't that tend to make the soil dryer and have to water more often?

I can not get peace lily's to survive in my house. The large leaves start dieing off and then start growing back short and stay short. Then eventually die. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. All my other plants grow great.

I have a Peace Lilly that always blooms no matter where I put it but the blooms are always green instead of white. Not sure why 🤷♀️

Stress it out by only watering once it gets thirsty and giving it enough sun have worked for me.
