Very wonderful video thank you. I just transferred my peace lily over to water, it was gifted to me last year after my grandfathers funeral and it means a lot to me. It had developed root rot in dirt and since I transplanted it to water yesterday, (I used hydrogen peroxide before transplanting to kill the bacteria from root rot) it already has a new leaf and looks tremendously happier. Thank you for the video!

I have been searching for videos and infographs on water propagation for peace lilies and it's been so long that my plant has actually been doing well in water for the past two months and has been showing better results than when it was in soil since I live in a colder climate - BUT yours is the first one to actually have vital information. Thank you so much for this!

so it's been a while and my plants have been doing well, however it's been raining non stop for a couple of weeks now. and I've noticed that one of my tinier peace lilies has kind of stopped putting out new leaves, is a little droopy and a portion of the stem/root that's in the water is yellowing. it had slowly gone from white to green however the yellowing, should i be concerned?

I transferred my peace lily to water about a month ago. It’s drooping and I just noticed the tips are turning brown. One of the flowers is also brown. Everything I’ve read says you must add fertilizer to the water. I use filtered rain water. This is the first time I’ve heard NOT to fertilize. I think that might be the problem. Even though I diluted the fertilizer it may be too much. I will change the water, no fertilizer and see what happens. Your video was very nice to watch. To the point, informative and not a lot of rambling on like too many people do in videos. Thank you!

I transferred many peace lilies and other plants to water. They do so well! I try to put nature rocks at the bottom. The roots tend to grasp the rocks for stability? Or is the plant tracing minerals from the rocks? I pick a bigger vase so theres a bit more room and water in the glass. The extra water increases the humidity. All of my vases are sitting inside white pots to give the roots the darkness they are used too. ❤ Great video. More people would have peace lilies if they knew how easy they are to care for in water.

I really appreciate and like your channel and your love for plants but few things I would like to add and its for everyone.
I have peace lily in water as well and whatever you do, even if you change the water daily, keep the stems cleanest as possible there are still fungal and root rot issues will happen and to preserve these issue what you can do is atleast once a month, add fungicide (systemic and contact) in water or the soil wherever your plants are growing, these fungicide improves immunity in planta by blocking fungal growth areas within the plant cells and also outside body of the plants.
The water level is fine even if it goes above the crown, till the time you keep changing the water frequently it will not kill the plant.
Add a pinch of npk to the water for your plants to grow new roots and show signs of thriving.
    All the best!

You said add a fungicide to the water can you possible give me a name brand and what is npk ? I'm trying to keep this peace lily alive and I'm struggling. I've done soil which I got gnats then I went to water and it just didn't seem to grow very well plus the roots got mushy. So I went back to dirt and my leaves started turning black I believe I over fertilize it or not enough sunlight. Now I'm back to water. This plant was at my mother's funeral and I don't want it to die please help. Thanks

    • @ashishkangaokar
      @ashishkangaokar Год назад +2

@@dannycolemire2652 Hi, if your plant is not in a good state, let it be in water first initially, roots develop much better in water than soil. But take one effort, change water everyday... Everyday until the plant perks up and stabilises itself. Peace lillies are not so easy as its shown on RUclips videos.
Water has oxygen and roots require oxygen, everyday changing will help them rejuvenate. Also dont use a cramped up vase, use a big size one, the more water it holds the better. Also dont hesitate the water level, let you peace lilly sit inside it even if the water level crosses roots over the stem. Just keep changing water everyday ( very important ).
Now, as your peace lily is struggling I will suggest not to use NPK (NITROGEN, PHOSPHORUS, POTTASIUM) its a chemical ingredient in a form of crystals which also looks like salt, it comes as 10-10-10, 19-19-19 or 20-20-20 in the quantity of each chemical and its a shortcut to give plant their required food, but it has to be used in a pinch of its quantity as its a chemical it has an ability to burn the roots. I take a glass of water. Add a pinch of npk 19-19-19 stir it to dissolve and put it in the vase where my peace lilly is. I dont give it everyday as I do change water everyday. Its once in 2 weeks. But when you give them npk, observe them. Any counter effect is observed, discard the water.
But now you dont use it. Let your peace lillies Revive itself first.
Now, I come from india and we have some well known fungicide here in the market also we have antibiotics in the market especially for plants.
      What you can do is.
Google 'plantomycin' and 'SAAF fungicide' check for its chemical ingredient and try to check if their alternatives are available in the market.
Plantomycin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria attacks in plants and SAAF is a fungicide which kills varieties of funguses not only on the plant surface but also WITHIN plant's cells.
Google them and try to get their alternatives. Whatever is available in your region.
They both are water soluble, mix 1 of the powder (they come as powdery format) to one litre of water ( the same water what you have put your peace lilly in) just mix these. They help plant to fight the disease.
Long story short: focus changing water everyday!!!!! And see if you get these fungicide and antibiotic in your market.
All the best! I wish your peace lily survives and makes you happy!!

Tap water has minerals it is much better than distilled, here in India plant nurseries uses ground water, and just imagine Ground water is so hard but still their plants are always healthy!!

You said don't fertilize the peace lily if your growing it in water. I use distilled water instead of tap water so how will my plant get the minerals and whatever else it needs or does distilled water have those things? Thanks

Normal distilled water has it all 😊

My peace lily has been in water from 6 months now. Although its growing new leaves, I had this issue of leaves turning brown, which I have to obviously cut. So my plant hasn't grown much in size 😬😬.... Two mistakes I have been making - keeping the water till the crown and adding seaweed liquid fertilizer. Hoping correcting these mistakes will help my peace lily grown better. Thank you so much for this video. Can you pls post videos on other plants that grow well in water

I transferred my Peace Lily from soil to water because it had root rot AND because I didn’t want to have that problem again. Now, my big beautiful leaves are drooping. Should I have cut the roots? Some of them had brown spots on them, but I was afraid to cut the roots because I DO NOT know what I’m doing. I’m following videos like yours🤷🏽‍♀️
    PLEASE HELP🙏🏾
