I received a huge one for my father's funeral in October... my grandkids kept messing with it and put holes in most of the leaves...I was finally able to put a stop to that but my plant had alot of dead leaves...I then thought of repotting it but my daughter in law brought me some cheap soil so I had to use the same soil it had as well and I had to check for root rot... I ended up taking it all apart but when I tried to repot it all the leaves were drooping and I could get it to recover...I finally bought Miracle grow soil, took everything out and tried to put it back but to no avail....I finally made the decision to cut off all the leaves, every single one... I'm hanging on to hope alone that at least some of it will survive... at least now I can at least get the stalks to stand straight instead of falling over the way they were with the huge leaves... I'm so sad
Ya cause bananas carry all the nutrients (almost)... humans can actually live on them for a long time as well. Didnt know you can use them in plants.. makes sense. :) Bless

Sounds like the way it's supposed to work. I also read people saying soak the banana skins completely in water and use that water for the plant?
My daughter and I were driving down our street and sitting on top of someone's garage can was a plant. I have plants so we stopped and brought it home. I've been having problems with it. One day it looks great and the next there are yellow and brown leaves. I've been moving it around the yard trying to figure out the perfect sun/shade. But I didn't know what kind of plant it was. Yesterday it flowered one flower. And today I saw that flower on a plant on the weather channel and it said the name. And yes this plant seems to be a little high maintenance. But thanks to you I know how to take better care of it. Hopefully I will be rewarded with more flowers. Thanks
There was a time when I can't figure out how to maintain the peace lilies given to me by my compadre..Now, I've gotten used to it and it has propagated much in our rooftop garden..problem is it only produced 2 maybe 3 flowers since then and it stopped to bloom now.
Thank you for sharing Anna!! It took a few years to learn to care for my Peace Lilly lol!! Since getting mine it's bloomed twice but with one bloom each!! Hoping this year it blooms like crazy, but I'm just happy it's thriving!!❤️🥰
Same here! I've had mine for 2 years and it's produced Two flowers total, one last year and one is just coming up now! I want it to bloom more flowers like my grandmothers but I've tried everything. I prune the dead leaves, and I am constantly getting New Leaves, so it's VERY HEALTHY! I get new leaves daily, but not the flowers. I have a Plant light that use for it during Fall,Winter seasons and now that it's warming up I was going to put it back outside on my deck for the rest of spring/summer season.
the day after I got my peace lily I repotted it in freezing cold, very damp and old soil and then right after that I propagated a new plant in the same soil. I was really scared that they would die but so far they seem to be healthy and now I have two peace lilys. I don’t know what my point is but that’s my experience with peace lilys
They are super easy to propagate and repot. I got one from a family funeral almost twenty years ago. They keep growing, I keep repotting and keep propagating them. When taken out of the pot the root separation is easy to see and then just replant. I've given 8-10 people plants and I have 2 that are about 3 feet in diameter. They are pretty easy to keep alive but require some effort and proper watering to look nice and bloom often.
Good light and good water are key! Purify the tap water using liquid water conditioner if you can't get rain or distilled. Spritz often! They like showers!
Thank you for this informative video! I have a large peace lily that droops indicating it needs some water but I have some leaves around the bottom that turn yellow. So am I underwatering or overwatering? 3:48
if it's still alive- i would say have a look at the soil. if it's really dry, you're probably not overwatering. If you don't have good drainage, though, you could still be overwatering the bottom. And if you're checking the soil, maybe see if there's any root rot

Nothing changed and there aren't any pests 😢 do you have any suggestions? 🥺🥺😭

Hi, nice video, i can see the flower buds on my peace lily, but they are green in colour still growing state. Why is that so and can i do something to change it? Please tell me.
I have a peace lily I got a couple of Christmas' ago, but due to health issues, the poor little thing dried out a couple of times. It looks a lot like the one you have on the right of this video, should I cut the leaves off that are brown or leave them on the plant. I don't want to stress it out more than I already have! Thank you in advance for your advice.
So how often and how much do you water? I usually soak water mine with good drainage from the pot. I set them outside and drench them with water until it runs out of the bottom. I then let them drain and put them back inside. I use a moisture monitor and wait until it shows dry and the plan just starts to droop and then repeat the process. Generally my plants are OK but I think I must be overwatering as I do get quite a few brown leaves and yellow tips. I tend to fear underwatering more so than overwatering so I may overreact. So how often and how much do you water? Also, how often do you fertilize and what type of fertilizer do you use? My plants tend to have pale looking leaves and I'm striving for that that deep rich looking green. Would iron help them green up better?
They you for this information! What can I do if I over watered? My leaves continue to die daily. Also I think I smell something in the plant. Not a pleasant scent. I’ve this one for a year and a half. I hope I can save it.
If I accidentally over water a plant, I fold up a couple layers of kitchen roll & place them inside the outer pot and underneath the plastic pot that the plant is in ~ it soaks up the excess water and if it gets too wet, change the kitchen roll 😊

@@AnnasViolets thank you. I’ve been tending to mine for 7 years. Received for my dads funeral and it’s sentimental to me, I would hate to lose it. This week it actually has a new bloom, so I’m excited that it’s still healthy. I just added new soil, it must have liked that. I subscribed to you and will keep up. Oh! What’s the best way to make the leaves shiny?
I'm glad to read that it's flowering now. I use just wet cloth to clean the leaves from time to time, and when it's warm I also wash it in the shower in a way so that the soil doesn't get washed away. :)
My peace-lily got brown tips from the hard tap water we have here. You can see that I stopped using it because all the leaves that grew after the switch are perfectly fine.
Put the hard water in an open bowl and leave the water for 2 days, most of the chemicals will be removed naturally, and if you have any old water filter that you no longer use for your personal consumption, keep it and pour the water from the bowl into it, use it as second stage filtered water process for your plants. Also ask friends and family to give you old water filter that they want to discard, or get a very cheap second hand one from a charity shop.
I certainly made the mistake in repotting. I split my big plant into two cuz it has filled the pot. Sad to say they didn't do well in the new pots which I now realized are too big. Now i dug them out of the soil and rehabilitating them in water. So far so good, they are growing new leaves & seems to be recovering. Hated them in soil I could never make the watering right. Maybe I'll plant them in soil when roots are well established!!
I have one. However the first or second week it had I say bite marks, because it was outside. sometimes after the leaves changed brown in large areas. I change the pot it was in and brought it inside... It's still brown tho
Gardening videos often use phrases like “too much” or “not often enough” when talking about watering, which is super frustrating to hear because this is so relative and not very helpful. If I knew what how much water is not enough or too much, I would not probably be looking for advice! What would help? Something like, if your plant is so many inches tall or fills a pot so many inches wide/deep, water about so many ounces per x day(s). Then I can compare that measurable advice to what I am doing to see what to change. My peace Lily wilts when I allow 1-2 days without watering. So I water it until the water comes out of the bottom and then it perks up. BUT I’m still seeing yellow leaves. So am I to water more or less? Should I give it less water but water more often? When I water less it seems to wilt and looks as though it is dying.
Hi there. I really feel your frustration. The thing is that it's impossible to tell how much exactly to water based on plant size, or plant type. It depends on so many things, which I go deep into detail here: ruclips.net/video/A4jEETEqYxg/видео.html Hope this video will help you understand better what the watering depends on and they decide for your plants. It all comes down to experiences, observing and feeling your own plants because your conditions are different from every one else's. In short, watering (how often and how much) depends on the plant type, plant size, the root system, pot type, pot size, temperature, air humidity, soil type, etc... That's why no one can tell you exactly X ounces per X day.
I have a question, I got a peace lily for mothers day and it was one big ball of root so I repoted it. I read to water after repoting so I watered a small amount. 3 days later and it still feels very moist and its starting to go limp. I've sit it outside, but I'm worried, should I repot it into a dry soil and get all the wetness off of it? Some of the bottom leaves are turning yellow..
Hi Sonn. Yes, if it's already several days and it's not recovering, I recommend that you take it out of the soil and check the roots. If the soil stays wet for so long, maybe the quality of the soil is not good. It shall be very light. You can add perlite, pebbles or vermiculate to the soil. Also, don't use a very big pot. And of course, the plant shall be in a warm place. This way the soil will get dry quicker.
Hi Anna, Can you please help me, i repot my plant in big pot, but its getting yellow and i had to cut so many leaves, just few lefts, Please help me to save my plant, What measures should i take? First i will use fertilizers, the spot to keep is good, not too dark, enough bright Please suggest me other possible ways
How often must I water the peace lily? I watered it last week once. I went to water it again for the new week, and I noticed brown dead leaves, flowers wilting, and yellow leaves.

Hi, my peace lily bloomed flowers when I bought it. It is 3rd year , and there are no flowers! Leaves r green & healthy. Plant is placed in Indirect sunlight. Any tips, please? Thanks
Safe to say this plant is a high-maintenance plant. I have one that was growing so well and suddenly overnight, it wilted. I'm now going to try to revive them. Sad!!!
My peace lily has two problems … 1 its new leaves are smaller than old ones .2 its leaves are wrinkling ,they are not as straight as they used to b . I hv chked for root rot n pest . None is there . Want yo know optimum humidity needed in room. My room has 60 % humidity . Do i need a humidifier?
I think my peace Lilly is overgrown. It doesn’t even flower or make buds. The leaves are bushy and very full. I’m not sure if I should prune it and how to prune.
My plan is a peace lily and I watered them like I supposed to every two weeks but my plants leaves are just wilted over and they won’t stand back up and I don’t know why I didn’t overwater them. They’re just fine with the water it might be where I have them in my house. I don’t know what to do.
Have you let your tap water, uncovered, for 48 to 72 hours before use? Lot of bright indirect light is was helped my variegated plant recover. Have you checked your roots, could be root rot. Jmo
My sis gifted me 2 months ago, though the sapling is not drooping but leaves are turning yellow rapidly and i noticed the stems are turning yellow from the root as well, I am so worried, don't know what to do

Hi Nell, it's not a seasonal plant. It flowers from spring till late autumn
@@nellosmar4431 I wonder to the best way
I'm glad to read that it's flowering now. I use just wet cloth to clean the leaves from time to time, and when it's warm I also wash it in the shower in a way so that the soil doesn't get washed away. :)
💚
My peace-lily got brown tips from the hard tap water we have here. You can see that I stopped using it because all the leaves that grew after the switch are perfectly fine.
Unfortunately, I cannot see, as it's not possible to post a picture, but I'm glad it's doing fine now :)
@@violettaosagie9471 Thank you for the advice! These tips are very helpful!
Use tap water purifier drops for fish. Let it sit in the water for 30 minutes and it helps neutralize chlorine and other harsh chemicals
@@johnosterman494 Thanks for the tipp! I'm going to look into that.
My Pease lily I can understand it don't blooming and I love this plant very much and growing very good 4:28
I certainly made the mistake in repotting.
Nice to see them grown 👍🪱
Thank you :)
Is it ok to shine the leaves with a cooking oil? Many thanks, for this video, much appreciated 🙏
No oil
I have one. However the first or second week it had I say bite marks, because it was outside. sometimes after the leaves changed brown in large areas. I change the pot it was in and brought it inside... It's still brown tho
Hello, if I don’t have a humidifier should I use a spray bottle and lightly spray the leaves occasionally? Thank you
Gardening videos often use phrases like “too much” or “not often enough” when talking about watering, which is super frustrating to hear because this is so relative and not very helpful.
@@AnnasViolets *deep sigh* ok… thank you for explaining. I’ll check out the other video. :)
How do you get seeds from the flower of a peace lily
Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I'm going to do. Thanks again!!
Hi Anna,
Can you please help me, i repot my plant in big pot, but its getting yellow and i had to cut so many leaves, just few lefts,
Please help me to save my plant,
What measures should i take?
First i will use fertilizers, the spot to keep is good, not too dark, enough bright
Please suggest me other possible ways
Ours was doing so well and then I put some compost and since then it has gone down in hea
Mine too 🥺
I almost kiled mine, but sice I start feeding it Kelp, it is huge and happy. Keping it in house for winter.
Is kelp the same as fish fertilizer?
I was hopping for you to talk about the white flowers turning green , what could be the reason
Lack of natural light - but not direct sunlight 😊
How often does peace lilys get flowers and for how long?
Do you trim off the yellow leaves?
Question here!
Should I cut the brown leaves/flowers or should I leave them as it is and wait for the whole plant to recover?
You can cut all unhealthy, yellowing, brown, black leaves and stems. It's much better this way.
Mine did well in my apartment. I moved it outside after moving now it's not doing good at all.
Thank you Anna this will definitely help me identify what the problem is with my Peace Lilies 👍🏾
I am glad you find it useful. It's relatively easy plant to grow, but I think some tips could be useful :)
If the leaves of plant totally burn , please give the tip for precaution
🤩🙏 Very good vid - thx!
Thanks
How often must I water the peace lily? I watered it last week once. I went to water it again for the new week, and I noticed brown dead leaves, flowers wilting, and yellow leaves.
How do you rid pests or repel them from your plant?
Neem oil mixed with water.
Can they be grown in a fish aquarium if you keep the leaves out of the water?
I just separated a huge peace little into 9 pots but I'm worried because some of them are drooping.
Hi, when I bought my peace liliy home it's bloom. But after that it have stop blooming for a long time ? Can you give me some advice. Thank you 😊 from Singapore 🇸🇬
Very helpful, thank you 🙏
Although not looking too back apart from many leaf tips being brown with a little yellow my concern is that it hasn’t flowered for a long long time like two years.
Any advice ?
It’s not in direct sun although it’s in a light position if that helps you 😁
have you tried Gibberellic acid plant growth hormone regulator .

Thank you Keith, no I haven’t. Will look out for that, cheers 👍
Be careful no to over dose though .@@nickwebb9290
For some strange reason my peace lily has done ABSOLUTELY AMAZING after removing it from soil and putting it in a vase of water. ❤
mine is in water as well, but always have brown tips, do you have that?
I haven't tried that. :)
Myne also I put it in the water is growing
My sister does this with white small stone at the bottom, liquid nutrition for roots grwoth and some thing to keep the water clear, after a while her peace lily is strong foliage but no flower.
@@thuyhuynht.t.8646 what is the Whitestone? Is it something from outside just a random Whitestone? Or from a store? And I'm sorry if this is a ridiculous question but I wonder because I'm trying to make this survive this peace lily that was from my father-in-law's funeral
What do I do if the stem of the lily goes yellow ?
It baking soda water helps with the brown tips
Can the white flowers come back? How do I help it?
Should I cut off the sick leaves of my Peace Lily? The big leaves are dry and brown in tips
Can I ask if all Peace Lillie have white flowers
Mine has Dark Red flowers and is doing fine.
Maybe it's an Anthurium?
Hi, my peace lily bloomed flowers when I bought it. It is 3rd year , and there are no flowers! Leaves r green & healthy. Plant is placed in Indirect sunlight. Any tips, please? Thanks
So very nice video sharing beautiful plant healthy 🎉
Thanks a lot, Mukta. :)
Safe to say this plant is a high-maintenance plant. I have one that was growing so well and suddenly overnight, it wilted. I'm now going to try to revive them. Sad!!!
I water my plant every 2 days because it is very hot currently where I live. Before that I watered it just once or twice a week. Is that right?
My peace lily has two problems … 1 its new leaves are smaller than old ones .2 its leaves are wrinkling ,they are not as straight as they used to b . I hv chked for root rot n pest . None is there . Want yo know optimum humidity needed in room. My room has 60 % humidity . Do i need a humidifier?
I think my peace Lilly is overgrown. It doesn’t even flower or make buds. The leaves are bushy and very full. I’m not sure if I should prune it and how to prune.
I should add that my leaves are not tall. They all grow to the same height, which is about 6 inches
My peace lily flowers turned brown please tell me what is the problem ??
I got a few Peace of Lilies, but no one have give me any flowers, I got them for more than a year. I’ll appreciate your help . Regards 🤗🦘 3.15 pm.
Hi Gloria, maybe try to put it in a brighter area and you can also repot it in fresh soil and/or fertilize. This will help :)
Jmo
I just trimmed dead and yellow leaves my question is when they bloom
When is it time to repot?
My sis gifted me 2 months ago, though the sapling is not drooping but leaves are turning yellow rapidly and i noticed the stems are turning yellow from the root as well, I am so worried, don't know what to do
thanks a million
Can I plant my peacelilly in a round glasspot
I'm afraid it won't have air ventilation for the roots and it may get root rot easily. Although, it will look nice with some design stones :)
Why do the tips of my leaves turn brown?
I explain that in the video :)
When does the peace lilly gives more flowers
Highly informative.
I have one .but no flowers
It will flower, when it's a bit established. Just grow it in a bright area, it can also see some morning sun.
My plant was next to the stove while i was cleaning. Someone turned on the stove to cook. Now several leaves are burned and are now dying
Yes, of course. But the new leaves will grow healthy
I read pot and now get yellow leaves and dead us garden soil miracle grow😢
Maybe the roots were damaged at repotting. Move it away from the sun and it should recover soon
So I do read pot and peculiar now and it die
Ok
Lat was 4days go read dead
