When I met my now husband 12 years ago, he has a peace lily in a nursery pot in the dining room. It was covered in dust. I thought it was fake, but he insisted it wasn't. I repotted it and began to water it every time the leaves drooped. Once a month, I give it a couple tablespoons of worm castings. It is so hardy, I've been able to split it 5 times. It makes a great gift!
Where can I get worm casting?
I don't understand what's difficult about this plant. I found my very wilted one in the garbage. Somebody threw it out. It was in a terracotta pot so I repotted it into a ceramic pot, watered it and it's been a breeze ever since. The leaves tell me when it's thirsty so I water it then and that's it. Super easy. Just like the variegated one. Both are blooming all the time. Such rewarding plants. I would love to have one with big leaves like yours. Mine has very small leaves. But it was free so I'm not complaining 😅
I cannot keep a peace lily alive but I love looking at yours! 😅
I heard a little tomato feed can encourage the plant to flower - Today I noticed mine has flowered! 😊
@harli g oh my goodness!!! I noticed the jug you used to water and I use the same ones! Those Hawaiian punch jugs are awesome. They are almost exactly a gallon, making it easy to measure water conditioner or fertilizer and we have a ton of them.....lol. I also love that I can keep things uniform and have all the same jugs with different things in them. I would almost keep buying Hawaiian punch even if my kids didn't like it....I love the jugs especially with that handle on the top. It makes it so easy to pour and to carry/move around. Beautiful peace Lilly by the way. I've been wanting to get one myself.
Self watering pot for these is a LIFESAVER
You speak my language! So glad to find you, and happy spring!
Love that pot with the peace lily!! ❤
My parents got a peace lily as a wedding gift 31 years ago and that plant is still doing amazing!! That plant has been through it 😅we had a cat that used it’s large pot as a litter box for a bit, and my Mom likes to joke that if the peace lily dies they have to get divorced as it has a become a symbol for their marriage and this plant always bounces back! When I moved into my own house I had to take a piece of it with me when i moved. I need to repot it ❤
Wow! That’s amazing 🥹❤️
You did a great job with the peace lily; helpful tips also!
It looks great in that new pot!
It looks great now👍
💚🌵🌱☘️💚
Looks so beautiful in that pot!!! Gorgeous plant Harli🤗🌱💚
Love this video and love peace lilies 💚
I live in a very dry climate as well, After struggling with that for a while, I moved ours into our large restroom and it is doing really well there with the humidity it gets.
I use a self watering pot for mine and it works great
What is a self watering pot???
You made me want a peace lily awhile back and I got one :)
I find them really easy 👍🏻
Love your coffee set up 😮 we have a Brevelle too, we love it!!
Love your videos. Very funny and informative. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
I was working on my peace lily as I watched your video, and the same thing happened with the water about a couple of seconds before it did to you on the video 😂 thanks for sharing!
Here in the south western parts of Australia, we get them popping up everywhere when autumn comes, and it starts raining a lot, and they will last until the end of spring they're gorgeous
Hi Harli, I have 3 peace lilies, and I love them. For me, they tell me when they need watering because their leaves will begin to droop. ❤
I use sparkling natural mineral water for my plants and it’s the best thing I ever done ✅
I have a sensation peace lily. I love it and have to put it in the shower to water it. I haven't had it long but it is beautiful
I am new to your channel and l have a peace lily that is growing like crazy but l have never had a flower. Thanks for all the tips.
I definitely recommend keeping peace lilies in ceramic pots because they're so dramatic when it comes to wanting water and you don't have to water them as much when they're in the ceramic ones, just be careful not to over water them
I love peace Liles
I have my peace lily in a terracotta pot sitting in a wide ceramic bowl. I fill the bowl when the outer pot is dry (I use a moisture meter normally in case it’s too damp). It’s in bright indirect light now. I used to have problems with smaller leaves and no flowering and the classic peace lily flop if I forgot to water it. I find the outer bowl method works so well now. Bigger leaves and plenty of flowers. No flopping. I think their natural habitat is river banks and it is semi-aquatic. Maybe I’m wrong but I find it doesn’t get root rot and actually thrives having its feet always wet. Especially in the growing season.
This is a great idea! Mine need repotting and I’m going to try your method.
Hi Harli, your ginormous Peace Lily is GORGEOUS!! I'm so happy to say that my large Peace Lily Babygirl" has finally bloomed, my second is thriving and, now my rootless Mom's Peace Lily that I tried to save, has finally sprouted nice roots in water culture!! First time doing water culture and it's doing beautifully!!❤️🥰🙏🏼
Mine got huge so I cut it into 3rds and put them all in water and they are growing beautifully.
Hi, Harli🖐🏽
Wondering what is your "go-to" potting mixture is? I'd like to give it a try!
Love your videos 📹 ❤️
I had a gorgeous peace Lily that I had to give away because a cat I had found it his mission to stunt dive into the middle of it daily.
Just picked up a discounted large peace lily from my place of work. Very wilted but it was sitting in water and the soil was soaked. 🤞🤞🤞 Hope things go well!!
I’ve had my peace Lilly since 1994. It came from Home Depot. I need to take better care of it.
I divided the larger but rather sadly donated one into several parts and each got their own self-watering pot. They are all in Lechuza pon, growing wonderfully.
Hi Harli 💫 What a beautiful peace lily. I’ve always been iffy on those because I’ve heard from others here that they can be quite finniky…. But honestly what plant isn’t ?? Hmmm… should I get one now 🤔Thank you for another awesome video. 🙏🏻💫
Omg urs is so pretty
💚💚
Why didn't u loosen the rootball please? I thought this was a necessary step. Thanks ! Beautiful plant !

thanks!

Side Note I had an idea 💡 for a video the pros of cutting plants back, a video that gives us sacred people the reassurance of when is the right time, how to, why it's good, because I know I need to do it on some of my plants but I'm scared imma do it incorrectly. And as always, love the vid always a fan of hanging out and learning from you❤
Love this idea! I'll get working on it right away.
❤
My variagated one this year was very root bound and (3years in my care) pushed 6 blooms in very high light but I lost some leaves with that amount of flowers so cut em off lol
from what i know that specific peace lily is not a sensation, but a spathiphyllum sweet pablo if i am correct, the actually spathiphyllum sensation (sp. Ortesgii) is way larger, and by large i mean it can reach 10ft tall, and thats pretty huge - they're not very avaliable in their mature state, but the leaves are absolutely beautiful and huge. they're not the cheapest plant tho
but this care video is one of the more informative ones! all the ones i see on here are pretty vague; peace lilies are pretty versitile but they aren't one of the hardiest plants!
I was just thinking that and checking to see if someone else was under the same impression. It's definitely a sweet Pablo, the size of the leafs, the shade of green and the stems are different on the sensation :) it looks very beautiful and healthy tho :)
@@pascalecimon989 yes, exactly, the sensation has very thick stems and very large abs; the veitchii of the spathiphyllums!
its definetly a beautiful healthy plant, glad to see someone that knows of the sensation
A little off topic but… can I/ is it okay to use liqui dirt and water my orchid with it? I’ve been doing it off and on this growing season and they seem to be okay, both of mine have bloomed
I love how dramatic Peace Lilies are! 😏
I am really thinking about moving my Peace Lily out on the screened in porch for the summer. Actually I am thinking about moving all of them out on the porch
I'm glad I'm not the only one who begs for surface tension to save me😅
It's a daily occurrence here :P
👍👍👏🤗🥰
I love peace lilies! The green of their leaves is so beautiful…but they hate me.
What kind of substrate are you using?? My mom wants to repot the one she got from my grandpas funeral (14 years ago!) and I wanna get the right kind.
where is your desk from ?! im moving and need a cute simple desk
I just bought a peace lily from Walmart. Should I repot it, fertilize it and water it right away?
I was gifted one and nine days later it’s drooping. I repotted and cleaned up the roots but it’s still drooping, I gave it water and hoping it bounces back. I’ve watched 100 videos and doing everything advised. ??
What's the difference for variegated plants?
For my Peace Lily once the top soil is dry, it needs watering. It does not like to dry out at all. The leaves also start to wilt a little, that's how I know it needs watering. They can be easy once you learn your plant, and watering needs. It is a plant to keep an eye on for sure, but not that hard.
Hi Carly! How are you?
I keep a turkey baster in my plant supplies for when too much water comes out the saucer. Helps avoid overflows. Hope that helps.

Good idea
@@Tamolwv Thanks!
Brilliant! Defintjely gonna pick one up thanks
@@HarliG More than welcome! I thought that would help.
Do you know how to keep Boston ferns alive till next year zone 6a, I tried cutting them back and putting them in the basement over the winter watering sparingly and they didn't make it. 3:51
Could you possibly tell me how much time it took this peace lily to grow this big?
I repot it and my substrate keep moody and it rotted so why most people says they like to stay moist ? And I have heard some people say they don’t like to stay wet so which one it is
So my peace Lily was doing horrible until I put it in a south facing window . For mine I think it was water quality that made the difference, I only water mine with distilled water
Can you separate the crowns and plant those as a gift to someone? I have two peace lillies from my dad's funeral, and would love to gift some of the crowns to my siblings.
if you check for gutting ( water droplets at the end of the leaves ) then they don't need extra water,
if these droplets are gone, just wait 4 days with watering.
if you water them make sure it is a room temp. and they prefer rainwater and even a bit of coffee,
or banana peel-tea
I say if your floor not messy you havent done a good job...... ... i always have dirt and dead leaves everywhere when i look down like ha.... im messy...lmaooooo 😂😂😂
you are my comfort plant tuber 🤍
Do all peace lilies grows this big?
Any tips for keeping them in water? 😅 I tried going from soil to water and it died 💔
What about the leaves drooping down
The leaves got tiny, does anyone know why and how I can improve it? I did move, she stoped blooming since the move, but I'm sorry, she's gonna have to survive in New place
My peace Lilly flowers are dying. Do I cut the whole stem off or just the flowers?
I just cut it down to where the stem connects to a leaf
U look like bridget regan
My peace lily’s leaves are droopy!! What do I do!?😭😭 I can’t find any helpful websites
I have mine in LECA. My plant no longer droops!
I always regret buying them because they give off the pollen smell... im allergic to pillen.... so now i just cut off the flower even though ther big snd pretty
I had one, one of my first plants…poor thing 🤦🏼♀️ I knew nothing. She is long gone and I have never felt the call to buy another one.
I’ve unintentionally unalived so many peace lilies they won’t let me buy any more 😕
The “always keep the soil damp” information I read on the internet made me kill many a maranta/calathea 🙃😒 lol
❓My peace lily leaves are much darker than yours. The leaves are almost black. Is there something wrong ❓
I’d have to see a photo to have a better idea, but it could just be a different variety
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ABLE TO KEEP THEM ALIVE MY WIFE PASSED 12-26-22 IT'S WAS HER IT WAS GIVEN TO HER SHE HAD 7 Lillies THIS YEAR IN 2024 I Counted 17 THE LEAVES ARE BIG AND HEAVY THE PLANT IS BIG BUT BEAUTIFUL. WHAT CANI I DO
😂😂😂🌱👋💛👍😊🇩🇪
Is anyone's else having their sound on this video super quite?
You said nothing of the medium
I can not understand what you are saying when you try to say what the name of the fertilizer is that you use on your peace lilly.
it's either osmocote or liquidirt (: I can't remember which I used in this video
@@HarliG thank you so much for responding, I really appreciate it. I need my peace Lilly to grow as big , tall and healthy as yours. I have problems with my lungs and am currently trying to surround myself with indoor plants that clean the air to help promote better breathing.
What? Your putting a peace lily in terra cotta? That's a no-no unless you are willing to be a helicopter parent everyday. A self-watering pot is the way to go!
Every time a hipster repeats nonsense that's spread by other hipsters I laugh. Plants are air filters is a personal favorite .. 😄
NASA is a hipster? Okay 😊
@@HarliG - try reading the studies, it's so minute that they scrapped the project. Yet it gets repeated over, and over by greenhouses to sell plants, and by hipsters that like repeating what other hipsters say. And that makes me laugh.. 😄
@@thomas3crows487 I read it a few years ago. Sure it’s micrograms, but something is better than nothing 🤷♀️
@@HarliG - 😄
Too much banters. No substances.
hi. why doesnt it have any white bits typical of peace lillies?
